1. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING: ↪ If you have never downloaded this collection, try to manually download the required mods (I recommend it even though it's a pain) ↪ If you have downloaded this collection through Vortex, you will be able to find the archives of the mods: —ARCHIVE FOLDER ➜ "[letter]:\Users\[name]\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\downloads\witcher3" Nothing there? Download the mods ↪ Copy the files and paste them into a new folder, somewhere safe from Vortex ↪ Make sure you are on a fresh installation of the game -> SOURCE
2. AFTER VERIFYING FILES:Check this out ↪ Open The Witcher 3 Mod Manager and click on "Add" ↪ Locate the folder with the mods that you placed earlier, select them then click on "Open" at the bottom right of the window ↪ Pay attention while the Mod Manager installs the mods: 2 or 3 windows will pop up and ask you to overwrite files ➜ Click on "Yes"
3. NEXT STEP AFTER INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE: ↪ Download these files here and make sure that WitcherScriptMerger folder is in your game folder ➜ SOURCE ↪ EXTRACT FILES TO THE FOLLOWING FOLDERS AND OVERWRITE ALL FILES: —PC FOLDER ➜ "The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc" —MERGED BUNDLE CONTENT ➜ "The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\WitcherScriptMerger" —DOCUMENTS FOLDER ➜ "Documents\The Witcher 3" —MERGED SCRIPTS FOLDER¹ ➜ Extract mod0000_MergedFiles in "The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\Mods" —MERGED SCRIPTS FOLDER² ➜ Extract MergeInventory.xml inside your WitcherScriptMerger folder
4. LAST AND FINAL STEP:Skip this step if the files are not there ↪ Congratulations! You made it to the final step.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - If you have followed my instructions properly, your game should launch without problems. - I didn't run Script Merger to merge conflicts and I don't know if I should merge these conflicts. - Let me know if you somehow run into any problems. - This is a similar guide to this guide.
Script Merger after downloading by Vortex or manually downloading "Merged Scripts" and "Merged Bundle Content" should look like this ➜ CLICK!
You didn't export the "Documents Folder", including the mods.settings file which contains the mods load order, which is why the headers are highlighted in red in your Script Merger screenshot.
Other than that, everything looks good and consistent. Thank you!
Okay, took me a while to reply but the reason that my headers were highlighted in red is because in the mods.settings, whenever Script Merger sees "VK=mod name", it somehow flags it as an unrecognized value which causes an error. Therefore, No Purple = No Priority Set.
Now what I am about to say might be wrong for everyone else but that's what worked for me: - Delete every occurrences of "VK=mod name" then save the file (I used Visual Studio Code to do this) - Run Script Merger and boom, the headers have turned purple
This is probably linked to my way of installing the collection which would ultimately cause these errors. I find it weird because my game still managed to run fine even though the headers were red so this might be an irrelevant solution to the "Unrecognized value" error for now since my load order was not affected at all.
Everything is correct when you do not edit anything after exporting all files of the Script Merger collection looks like the screenshot in my previous comment. If it doesn't look like this, you're doing something wrong or you didn't do a fresh installation.
Yeah but that's the problem: I did do a fresh installation and after running script merger without editing anything, the headers were purple so I closed the window and launched the game.
Later on, I decided to run script merger once again, didn't edit anything so I was expecting to see the same conflicts with the headers remaining purple but somehow I got that "Unrecognized value" error and the headers turned red.
I read somewhere that using the "Vk=mod name" in mods.setting is mainly for Vortex stuff and since I don't use Vortex to install the collection, that's probably why I get that error when running script merger.
So i do not have a The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Folder but i do have a The Witcher 3 folder. I'm not sure what you mean by "Delete Previous Folder" like the actual path location you want me to delete
E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\WitcherScriptMerger I deleted this and replaced it. Is this correct?
Bro, you need to delete the previous folder, not the whole directory. For example deleting previous "Merged Bundle Content" in that directory and exporting the new folder again.
Hello flowiegg. Noticed that the dx12user.settings file was missing from the DOCUMENTS FOLDER. Does that mean we are supposed to use ur collection on dx11 version of the game?
I am asking because compared to the Ultimate Mod List, SP3CNAZ provides the similar folder with both files (dx12user.settings and user.settings) and while taking a look at the dx12user.settings, I saw [modFriendlyMeditation] in there even though I haven't installed it. I did use SP3CNAZ collection in the past tho.
Should I delete the Documents/The Witcher 3 folder to restore the vanilla settings ?
The collection is recommended for playing on DX12. I do not add the dx12user.settings file to the "DOCUMENTS FOLDER" folder because it contains the mods and game settings. Players prefer and I want to give them the possibility to set their mods settings according to them, not the ones I set. That's why I do not add this file.
I will also have to delete the user.settings file, because it is unnecessary and I forgot about it when uploading, but it doesn't change anything just in case.
However, if you want to reset your settings, it is best to delete the dx12user.settings and dx12user.setting.bak files and run the game.
Just adding a positive reaction. Been playing on it for 3 days now, with zero issues. Approx: 21 hrs. No crashes. Fps takes a big hit. Latest drivers should help you. 13700k 64gRam EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra M.2 SSD..... . . Average 63 fps :)
Hello followed all steps and it is beautiful / fun but for osme reason I can not use signposts to travel. Can interact but can not click on other signs when in the map screen to fast travel. Can you please advise?
Download the updated folders and extract them according to the instructions. If this continues to happen, you're probably playing on an old save or you did not follow the steps in the collection installation instructions.
I have installed your collection and it works very well. Thank you very much.
I added the following mods with full merging : Witcher School Set Rework and Balance enhanced herbalism stronger monster status effects triss book locks - auburn triss glorified wardrobe all in one No merge: essential weapon rework (priority 200)
First of all I want to point out that this is an optional folder that is not needed for installation.
If you download and want to extract the "Merged Scripts" folder you need to delete the previous "mod0000_MergedScripts" folder which is already in your "Mods" folder. However, you must unpack the "MergeInventory.xml" file to the "WitcherScriptMerger" folder, which is located in the game folder. If you follow all instructions when installing the collection there will be no error.
I'm not saying this particular modpack is better or even good, but I have tried W3EE and can say the same about it, though. W3EE does not makes game better, and not makes it worse. It's just someones vision on how game mechanics should work.
The same applies to this modpack and many others. I mean they all deserves to exists and some may be even better, than W3EE.
