- Permissions and credits
This is a custom compilation of files from other fantastic mods which I've curated for my own use, and shared in case others want a way to install this package or modules of it for themselves. This package is comprised of many files from different graphical and quality-of-life and lore-accurate mods by various authors, curated and compiled for an updated, modernized and clean Witcher Enhanced Edition experience. This is primarily focused on updating visuals with some gameplay tweaks for comfortable play. It does NOT include any major gameplay or combat rebalances, but some minor functional changes, so check if any other mods you're installing on top of this don't alter the same files (likely to be found in Override > Scripts).
I wanted to give the Witcher EE some love and get lots of the great mods already out there working just how I wanted them to, to bring out the beauty in this little gem of a game ahead of the upcoming Remake.
As seen in the images, this is designed to be used with my Reshade Preset: The Witcher Modernized - Reshade Preset
Includes:
- HD Upscaled Textures
- Updated weapon models with scabbards
- Lore-Friendly Updated Character Appearances
- Modernized UI based on RotWW and Witcher 3
- Quality-of-Life and Gameplay Tweaks (NO major gameplay overhauls or rebalances)
- Updated sound effects for game and UI
- Added an optional replacer for better looking wraiths in Act IV
See below for a full list of file source mods
Installation:
Main Package / Modules
i. If you are using other mods, make sure they do not affect the same files if you do not want conflicts. It's recommended to install this mod first and then update any files within with those you want to replace with. If you are using the RotWW mod, you must uninstall this prior to installing this package, as this uses some files from that mod with a different file structure.
- Perform a clean install of the game
- Extract / Drop the files into your game directory (The Witcher Enhanced Edition)
- UPDATE: Download and extract the "Font Fix" to your game folder if using full version / GUI module, otherwise text will be missing.
Uninstallation:
- Remove all files from the "Override" folder in The Witcher Enhanced Edition > Data.*
*Note that this will also delete any other files that you have changed or replaced in the folders. This is why the package is designed to be used without other mods. You can safely add other files that don't overlap with this mod, but it's recommended if you do this to include them in a separate folder within the Override folder, so you can keep these intact if you choose to delete the other files from this package.
Credits / Mod Files Included:
This package contains a personally curated mix of files from various other mods, and they are the property of their respective authors. Only a few small texture files and edits are of my own creation. If you're a mod author or creator of any of the files / materials included here and require proper credit or want to request removal, please contact me directly.
I highly recommend viewing and endorsing the individual mods if you can! You can download the ones you want individually and bypass this comp pack if the all-in-one thing isn't your thing.

Known Issues:
- Sometimes scabbards will be visible and floating when in dialogue scenes. This is an issue with the original scabbard mod as far as I'm aware, and I'm afraid trying to fix it is beyond my level. If it bothers you a lot, disable the scabbard mod by deleting the folder named "scabbards" in Override > Models & Textures
- Some crashing might occur, likely due to the increased demand on the engine that naturally comes with mods. The 4GB patch is strongly recommended for added stability but these crashes may still happen. Usually reopening the game will work just fine.
- Occasionally when entering an area where a cutscene is scripted, the cutscene/dialogue scene will not play and the screen can instead freeze on black while playing regular game ambience / allowing cursor movement. This can usually be fixed by force quitting and reloading the save. Reloading a previous save from a few minutes back worked. I'm not sure how to fix this personally, but overall it wasn't too disruptive to my playthrough. Proceed with caution though and keep regular saves just in case.
- At the beginning of Act IV I found I was unable to draw weapons or interact correctly with objects, once again reloading a previous save from just before the end of Act III seemed to fix this. This may be a base game bug since I recall similar things happening in unmodded playthroughs. Either way, keep saves handy here especially just in case.
- In my playthrough I found I was initially unable to proceed through the door after the Kochlech fight in the Epilogue. Once again, reloading a previous save from before entering the area seemed to fix this.
Note:
This compilation is designed to be comprehensive and used as a package with it's own file structure, mainly for my own file organization. If you want to use other mods alongside this, you will need to either delete or replace the appropriate files in the mod package. These are generally contained in their appropriate folders (GUI, Models & Textures, etc.) but attempting to install other mods before or after this may introduce conflicts if they affect the same files.
This package includes files from many mods, and so covers a lot of ground if you decide to use the full package, hopefully making most other mod installations unnecessary for those who want a simple 'plug and play' type experience. If you only want to use certain parts of this mod, short of modifying the file structure yourself, you can download and use the individual modules provided in the downloads.
