Why this over _____ combat overhaul?
This refined combat overhaul, part of the Royal Galaxy suite, has been honed over nearly a year and enjoyed by over 11,000 Nexus users as of October 2013. You should not download this if you already have Royal Galaxy, though I am grateful for endorsements. =)
Recent trends in combat mods focus on three things: higher weapon lethality, headshot damage boosts, and lower HP for leveled enemies.
Royal mods stay true to Vanilla balance while improving key areas: NPCs gain 5 HP per level like Skyrim rather than the Starfield default of 20, headshot damage vs. humans is 3.0x, and ballistic rifles, especially full-auto, have been buffed significantly. Weapons that were already strong remain unchanged, but weaker ones have been elevated.
The part that I think stands out from any other combat overhaul is Royal Leveled Enemies. It adds size, speed, and minimum level variation, ensuring NPCs pose a fitting challenge before scaling kicks in. All new content from Bethesda or other mods will fit seamlessly into this ecosystem. An enemies level is actually a relatively unimportant detail, simply adding HP. Royal mods tweak their stats by hand, individually, to offer a fun and varied combat experience with variable difficulty depending on enemy type.
Fighting a level 100 Spacer and a level 100 Terrormorph will feel very different.
Compatibility is key—feel free to load mods for recoil, AI tweaks, or weapon balances after this one for a fully customizable experience.

This is Royal Galaxy - but only the combat portions.
Improved Starborn Powers for Player & NPCs:
All Starborn powers revamped. Royal Space Magic fully bundled.
Better Explosions and Explosives:
I tweaked them all. Even jetpack explosions now do some small AoE damage to the enemies (or you) if too close.
Massive canisters now do a 360 degree explosion that can leave a lingering burn.
Better Healing Items & Ingestibles:
Improved descriptions to more accurately reflect what they do based on xEdit.
Added a small (half a regular medkit, half the duration) amount of healing to Heal Paste.
New description: "A medicated healing cream that treats burns and frostbite. Used primarily for treating afflictions."
Added a tiny (0.05% of a medkit over 15 seconds) to bandages.
New description: "Wrappings to heal cuts and wounds. Primarily used for treating afflictions."Same goes for injectors and any crafted combo versions that include the base items. In early game, before Starborn powers, we need to use healing items quite often.
Royal Combat Overhaul Includes ALL of my leveled enemies and combat-related mods, but does not touch loot, dialogue, etc.
