is this mod working for the 1.6 update? i see it needs the custom fix dialogue mod, but this mod is broken for 1.6. if anyone knows anything, please post here! s2
On my old saves the dialogues are still working, the kissing animation is busted, the spouse room is busted... will report back with more as I learn.
edit 1: Yeah so the spouse room parts are glitched up into the nursery and completely ruins the player home. So, mod unusable.
edit 2: ConcernedApe's scummy new ableist update that abuses you for going to the summit to mod test prevents me from verifying if the last quest works still. As someone who develops a separate Wizard mod that uses this one as its foundation, I needed to be able to verify that the final cutscene worked, only to have Mr. Qi show up, demean me, insult me, show me flashing images (I am severely photosensitive), and literally shove me off a cliff and put me in the hospital, where Harvey stole all my money. If this sounds outlandish look it up, many people are reporting it. If this is the direction CA is going to take, then I will be forced to abandon this game.
hi! i did a little research and i think the bigger problem is that custom fixed dialogue is obsolete with 1.6, and without it, the wizard mod can't work in any way. all we can do is probably wait for someone to update either custom fixed dialogue or wizard overhaul to work w the current version of the game. hope u are doing well with the photosensitivity issue, and that your real doctor isn't stealing all your money like harvey! hahaha
Dialog seems mostly intact, and the kissing animation worked when I used Niko's Wizard Portrait (it was busted for the wedding tho? Not sure what's up there)
I managed to update the spouse room, but not the patio. Still looking into that part, but if you want to fix the room at least, replace the code under "// S P O U S E R O O M" in the file content.json with the code below.
@CrucifiedGenesis A little weird to call it a "scummy new ableist update." Even weirder that this one thing would be what makes you abandon the game...
In defense of Crucified, please remember that Photosensitivity can mean that person having a Seizure. We may not like the tone taken and may want to come to CA defense but that desire does not trump someone being put in physical pain or taking actual harm because of flashing lights they didn't know were there.
This sort of thing got an episode of Pokemon removed from the air when I was young and I'm 40. It's not unreasonable to think someone should not put flashing lights in a game without previous warning. And while I understand the desire to put an Easter Egg in, punishing your players is rarely a good plan, not to mention that CA JUST made this game more modder friendly. Being that SVE allows you to go to the summit FAR earlier than the base game does it is not unreasonable to think that perhaps you don't want to put something that will largely punish the same modders you just made the game more accessible to.
There is a setting in game for "show flash effects" that you can turn off. Is yours still on? I would think that this will prevent the cutscene from flashing at you, but perhaps it's an oversight by CA.
Some kind soul updated CFD for the 1.6 update Custom Fixed Dialogue - Continued Hopefully that's enough to integrate this mod into the new update but I'm unsure as I haven't tried it out just yet.
Did some testing, seems like the dialogue is fine if you use Custom Fixed Dialogue - Continued. Kissing anim works and all of the heart events except the 14 heart events work. I was unable to test the summit 14 heart event because of Mr. Qi forcing me off the summit. As mentioned before, the spouse room doesn't work unless you use the workaround listed above.
I did the spouse room fix above and also have the updated custom fixed dialog. I'm still getting a content patcher error. Is that what everyone else is getting?
@AeriiKorva It's the same issue with Spouse Patio, data/SpousePatio doesn't exist anymore, just like data/SpouseRoom. If I figure it out before this gets updated, I'll post it.
Edit: No idea if I ever will though because I can't even get the spouseroom to load properly it seems lol
I managed to fix this issue. However, there's a lot more with the mod that needs updating beyond just fixing the bugs, due to the new festival maps and such (they alternate every other year or something). I'm willing to share the version I made which fixes the spouse room, the patio (maybe, the map in the original mod just won't work with how the patio is set up [it just looks very off due to being 3x3 when the spot is 4x2 but it does load correctly], so i made a new version with the same tileset), and makes sure he is romanceable (which I think fixes the kissing animations). I haven't had any issues with his dialogue and most of the heart events (I haven't seen the 14th heart event yet).
I see someone else is also updating the mod though, so maybe they'll take care of the stuff I haven't. ^^;
Edit: My full fix sans the updated patio map is below. Basically, just delete all the old code for the spouse patio and room and replace it with this (be careful with the brackets, this includes the ones for closing out the file). It does include updating the romanceable-or-not tag that's now in the character data. My modified patio map has a different name, so I put it back to the filename that's in the original mod files. If you get an error about it, double check the name ^^; { "Action": "EditData", "Target": "Data/Characters", "TargetField": [ "Wizard" ], "Entries": { "CanBeRomanced": true, "SpouseRoom": { "MapAsset": "spouseRoomWizard", "MapSourceRect": { "X": 0, "Y": 0, "Width": 6, "Height": 9 } }, "SpousePatio": { "MapAsset": "WizardPatio", "MapSourceRect": { "X": 0, "Y": 0, "Width": 4, "Height": 4 }, "SpriteAnimationFrames": [ [ 0, 100 ], [ 22, 100 ], [ 21, 100 ], [ 20, 1400 ], [ 21, 100 ], [ 22, 100 ], [ 0, 100 ] ], "SpriteAnimationPixelOffset": { "X": 0, "Y": 2 } } } },
Since this mod is adored by many (including me) and the author granted blanket permission for updates in case the mod breaks, I decided to take over myself and keep our favorite purple old man alive. I'll be maintaining it for now, at least until the original author returns.
Aaaaah, I'm so excited! The spouse room and patio is back online! I don't know about anything else since I've already finished the events with the Wizard, but everything looks to be in working order again!!! Thank you so much! This made me so happy!
I'd like to know that too. I know there is an update for this mod that works with Stardew Valley Expanded, but you need SDE to play it. Other than that, I'm just hoping this updates or someone knows of an unofficial update.
Hiii, first off I want to say just how much I love this mod <3 The heart events so far have been so cute and the dialogue is so romantic and fits the wizard well <3 recently on my playthrough, I have tried to give the wizard the mermaid's pendant but he says "Funny Joke" and it says "The Wizard doesn't want to marry you right now". Ive tried for two weeks straight in game, is there any way to fix this? I have a fully upgraded house and all 10 hearts with him. Sorry if im missing something obvious
I'm not sure about the technicalities, but when I tried opening the spouse room tmx on Tiled, it informs me that the file can't be found. I tested to see if other tmx files were the same, and they showed up fine. I tried downloading older versions to see if the spouse room tmx will open. They're all the same. So for some reason, it seems there's an error in the tmx file.

I will not respond to any comments regarding SVE. The compatible version is linked in the mod description. I do not maintain that version.

[21:04:49 TRACE SMAPI] Content Patcher loaded asset 'Maps/WizardHouse' (for the 'Romanceable Rasmodius' content pack).
[21:04:49 WARN Content Patcher] SMAPI fixed maps loaded by this mod to prevent errors. See the log file for details.
[21:04:49 TRACE SMAPI] Fixed broken map replacement: Content Patcher loaded 'Maps/WizardHouse' without a required tilesheet (id: v16_TownInterior_2, source: Maps\townInterior_2).
I take it that means the Wizard House tbin in the mod needs a tweak to point to the right tilesheet.
