Unlucky this mod mechanics counts the price of quality dish a little bit wrong. Sicne the quality of dish stays same as material it will always profit as intended, but it also count the base price of quality dish and after that, it's aslo have it's own qualiry modifier so the price of quality dishes is x4, not x2 as intended of quality mechanic in base game, and unlucky it's not configurable
yea, i was just thinking about this. i think it would make more sense to base the price of the dish on the base prices of the ingredients (not sell prices), like how artisan goods are. and personally, i'd also like to be able to turn off quality for food w/o spice entirely.
Just curious which mod, will need to add compatibility to the other, i tried using both better crafting and this mod together. And it works essentially but this mod does not retain the quality of the item used when used with better crafting. I will be posting this question on the other mod page as well, just want to know how to make them both compatible
I don't know if you could make this mod work with better crafting, but if you could update the mod to categorize recipes that would replace the functionality that's added with better crafting.
I've spoken with the dev for better crafting. Apparently this should be fairly easy to integrate into the better crafting UI, her whole mod is open source.
If you are ever interested in open sourcing your mod I'd happily push a PR for this functionality.
Thank you for creating this interesting mod. I am currently using the Better Things mod and have noticed that after enabling its cooking menu reclassification function, this mod does not seem to work. By default, it outputs regular quality dishes. I am not sure what the reason is, but could you please try to accommodate it? I am looking forward to your reply
Hi! I didn’t find a cooking menu reclassification function in the Better Things mod. That mod only makes changes through Content Patcher, so it should work without issues with this one.
I'm so sorry, I mixed up the names of two mods. The correct mod name is Better Crafting. When I check Replace Cooking Menu, it changes the cooking interface, so all the dishes output will not have quality differentiation.
Found a bug today. Game will crash if you trying to make the Glowstone Ring with the mod enabled. after I remove the mod, I can make the ring again. Would you guys like to test it out? I am not sure if it conflicts with my other mods to cause it. or it is just the mod itself that causes crash.
When I used this mod about a year ago, there was an exploit where you could buy Ice Cream from the Ice Cream stand, and sell it to Pierre for more than it cost to buy it. Doing this over and over could give you hundreds of thousands of money in a short time. Has this been fixed?
Thank you for your comment! I’ve never heard of this bug before and wasn’t able to reproduce it. It’s possible you’re thinking of a different mod, as 'Cooking Overhaul' has only been around for about six months. If you have more details or can somehow replicate the issue, feel free to let me know!
The price of Sashimi does take into account the "Fisher" and "Angler" skills. However, there is currently a bug where all items, not just cooked dishes, receive the price increase that can be adjusted via the configuration.
