Browse and select StardewModdingAPI in your game installation folder. For example, the correct folder for Steam user is something like: C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley
Choose OpenGL.
[Important ! ] Browse and select the Preset file Vintage that you have extracted earlier. Proceed until you finish the installation.
[Important ! ]Copy the "reshade-shaders" folder that you have extracted earlier, and paste on the one that you have installed in your game installation folder earlier. You have to overwrite the files when asked.
If you don't like the wash-out effect of Reshade on the portrait of dialogue UI, download the Dialogue UI Mask files, and do the following:
Spoiler:
Show
1. Dialogue UI Mask needs to detect certain part of the dialogue UI, hence only works if all of the following conditions are met:
Full-screen or Window Borderless Mode
UI scale 100% (Not the Zoom Level, you can use any Zoom Level)
Screen resolutions: 1920x1080, 2560x1440 or 3840x2160
2. Extract the Dialogue UI Mask that you have downloaded, and open the folder according to the type of UI and resolution of your game. 3. Copy the "reshade-shaders" folder, and paste on the one that you have installed in your game installation folder earlier. You have to overwrite the files when asked.
* If you think any UI mod may look great with this preset, you may suggest it, and I may make the UI mask if I'm interested.
This is the final version of this reshade, as I'm very picky, always unhappy with the balance of certain colours in the 1.00 version. So when I finally want to use this reshade for my own game, I made a lot of subtle tweaks and played through 4 seasons completely with my main save, and this is the version that I finally feel satisfied. Generally, the differences with the old version are very subtle, but:
overall vibrance is increased
brought out more of certain color tones(like red, blue)
reduced the "shadow enhancing effect", hence reduced the brightening of certain UI.
no longer use eye adaption filter and chromatic aberration filter
The last two screenshots on the mod page are the Vibrant Version, the other screenshots are the old version.
I still keep the old version as I'm sure there are people prefer them.
Finally, thank you for using and endorsing this mod :)
i tried to change the input key but i did not find the file for it, it is supposed to be called ReShade.ini, but i see no file with that name, just vintage.
edit: okay, i found the file FINALLY and i got to change the input thankfully xd, im sorry for the bother <3
Reshade effects will be applied to everything in the game. It depends on whether such mod is compatible with vpr in order to look nice under this reshade preset, and you can try them out to find out.
Hello. Before I ask, great job with this reshade! So I downloaded all the mods required and followed the installation instructions but I went into to game and some textures are still the vanilla textures like the vertical paths rock paths and front cliffs… it’s extremely jarring and I don’t really know how to uninstall reshades so is there a way to fix the texture problem?
Im new to adding shaders so im a nit confused. i thought i did it right but my farm has random tiles that dont match the shade. can someone help me fix this? https://imgur.com/umpRvPz
Hi, I downloaded the Vintage Reshade (First version) and followed your instructions based on your youtube video, here is my SMAPI log. I do not understand why but my game looks nothing like yours.
Here's a picture of my game and your game, you'll see the huge comparison:
Helloo I'm using ur reshade, and I do all ur step by step. but whyy my shade didn't look like your example shade. pls help me.. this is on 3 days I still strungle with that .. :'((
sure.. I do every step on your video tutorial and I install VPR and that reshade menu (press home) I have it too. heres my smapi log https://smapi.io/log/1870ff3a320a46a5838d41ff282e1e75
Have you tried to play until around 12pm in game? Is the graphic same with my screenshot that time?
Dynamic night time adds yellow hue at certain time, like early morning, and the colour will be different from my screenshot depends on your in game time. If you don't like the yellow hue, you may remove DNT.
so I remove reshade and I use VPR only https://imgur.com/a/v42yCy9 maybe you could see in that link. I dunno what suppose to do again.. help me please:'))
So from your screenshots, it seems like the reshade is working, but your VPR is not. You will need to find out why your VPR is not working. Unfortunately I have no idea why when checking your smapi log. Probably can try reinstalling vpr or ask someone on their mod page.
Same as the links that I have stated on the description page and under the requirement tab.
Not sure whether this can be related, but I'm not using the international version (you using that version according to your smapi log). I'm using the english only version.
Have the same issue with my mini PC (Ryzen 7, the laptop version, with integrated GPU). You can try to disable certain effects. That helped a lot. Certain effects are very performance heavy for such weak hardware. I only use LUT and the vignette effects now. So I have stable 60FPS back and a similar color-look like the screenshots. Looks pretty nice :)
Same here but i have a gaming pc with dedicated graphics card :(
Edit: I managed to find the solution in my case. My pc was running stardew valley with an integrated graphics card (since the game is very light it automatically uses that graphic card). I had to change that in nvidia settings and now the game runs smoothly :)
Are you sure you have installed the reshade correctly? Can you see the reshade message on the top of the screen when you launch your game? If no, try reinstall it again.

为了我的中国朋友们写的中文版安装方式。
安装:
1. Dialogue UI Mask
Lavender Dreams UI

For those who want to use this Reshade preset, consider trying this temporary fix for VPR
if it doesn’t have, you may find one of the old comment here or google how to change the hotkey for reshade menu outside the game.
edit: okay, i found the file FINALLY and i got to change the input thankfully xd, im sorry for the bother <3
does this apply to ridgeside village and downtown zuzu?
i got this mod to not feel visually jarring when i play
To uninstall run the setup tool again but choose uninstall.
