I might actually try this mod! It is very annoying when i am walking through a town and the NPC'S slam the door in my face!
Edit: Can it work in multiplayer?

Please, change in .modinfo version to Enraged Koala - mod refuses to work if in .modinfo Furious Koala is written.

While a great idea, having NPC's on your ship (in my case the 'Your Starbound Crew' ) while they are standing in a door makes the door freak out and spam open and close, accompanied with it's spammed sound.
It also disallows you from going through those hidden Glitch trap doors you find in some avian homes. The trap door insists on staying closed while you are near it, even when pressing it to open. Opening it from a distance works, but getting near it subsequently closes it.

I could not replicate the issue with the hidden doors you are speaking of, they both close and open for me at all possible ranges, even when I am inside the wall. Also just from the coding, there is nothing I do with the hidden doors or how players interact with them, my whole code is just jumped over when it is a hidden door, making the code completely similar to the original door code.
Are there any more hidden doors except the two hidden Glitch doors? Because these were the two I implemented due to a request.

Regarding the rapid door switching, I fixed it now. The doors now stay open when a NPC is close enough to interact with the door. I will update the file later today.

      Thank you for your report!

That's odd, I'll have to look into the Glitch trap door thing then.
