.: Overview :.

Shape Shift allows you to transform visual aspects of your character during combat. From the color and style of hair, skin tone, makeup, warpaints and eye textures, up to height, weight and body preset. You can use it to turn your character into a (She-)Hulk or a Super Sayiajin. To give them a demonic or angelic appearance. To replace physics enabled hair right before a fight to increase performance. There are plenty of applications to explore!

.: Requirements :.

Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE)
SkyUI
OBody NG - or any OBody alternative - is required if you decide to change your character's body preset.
RaceMenu is required if you decide to apply character presets.

.: Installation :.

Install the main file as normal. Enter Shape Shift MCM and choose a trigger event to enable it.

.: Usage :.

There are 3 different ways to use
Shape Shift:

1. Race Menu

Show
  • Ready your weapon/spell/fists.
  • Enter race menu.
  • Edit your character the way you want her/him to look like in combat.
  • Leave race menu.
  • Sheathe your weapon to revert her/his aspect back to normal.

2. Race Menu + MCM
Spoiler:
Show
  • Enter race menu.
  • Edit your character the way you want her/him to look like in combat.
  • Leave race menu.
  • Enter Shape Shift MCM.
  • Click on "Load Current Aspect".
  • Leave MCM.

3. Alternatively, or additionally, you can apply character presets:
Keep in mind, however, that presets won't be applied if a weapon is drawn. Which means this option is restricted to a very specific scenario where enemies attack and hit you unprovoked. This can be useful for pacifist playthroughs, for example, otherwise use options 1 or 2.
Spoiler:
Show
  • Enter race menu.
  • If you don't have one, save your character's current aspect into a preset.
  • Edit your character the way you want her/him to look like in combat.
  • Save your character's new aspect into another preset.
  • Load former preset to restore her/his normal aspect.
  • Leave race menu.
  • Enter Shape Shift MCM.
  • In "Trigger Events" menu, select "Being hit in combat" or "Either on hit or draw".
  • In "Load Preset: Combat" and "Load Preset: Normal" fields, type the respective preset's name.
  • Leave MCM.

.: Technical Notes :.

  • Everything is changed instantly after a customizable delay without any additional visual or sound effects.
  • To help your transformations feel more smooth and flashy, use RaceMenu - Animated Overlays.
  • Height is the only feature you can't modify in race menu. Everything else should be modified over there preferably.
  • Weight change and loading character presets are disabled on horseback and on weapon draw.
  • Hair and beard changes are disabled while your character is wearing headgear.
  • Vampire characters are mostly unaffected. I have plans to remedy this, though.
  • I also have plans to add more trigger events such as time of day, light level, enemy line of sight, etc.
