Merchant - A Trading Expansion

Merchant is a lightweight trading and economy expansion. The goal is to both increase the available goods to buy and provide new ways to earn money in-game while rebalancing the loot and sell gameplay loop present in the game. New luxury items are available for crafting to earn money in brand new ways.

Gameplay Changes

The following are gameplay and balance tweaks present in the mod.

Inn Prices - Inns now cost 50 per night up from 10
Carriage Prices - Standard carriage rides now cost 50, and further trips, 100
Sell Prices - An optional addon reduces sell prices if you don't use something like trade & barter
Carry Weight - An optional addon reduces standard carry weight by 100 (down to 200 starting rather than 300)


Vendor Changes

Merchant improves a few different types of vendors as well as some specific vendor inventories to make them more worthwhile to visit.

General Stores - These vendors will now sell linen, used to craft certain clothing items, as well as firewood for certain crafting recipes
Feran Sadri - Sells Blood Potions for vampires to access
Khajiit Caravans - Buy stolen goods allowing you to earn money stealing early
Chefs - Sell ingredients and fancy foods
Farmers - Sell produce from their farm and relevant crops
Fishermen - Sell fish and optionally creation club fish with an additional patch
Miners - Sell ores from their respective mines
Most Vendors - Lockpicks are much harder to come by from normal vendors, you'll need to craft them or loot them
Dragonsreach - New Chef vendor Peryn fills out the kitchen


Price Changes

Certain misc items have had their prices increased to make them more worthwhile to collect and also craft for income.

Compatibility

This mod edits several vendor inventories and as such, you will need to see if anything else edits the same vendors. If you decide to use the carryweight addon, be aware that this will stack with survival mode's carry weight changes. As always, check in xEdit if you're not sure!
