Many a brave adventurer has set out on a quest prepared for any foe - except an empty belly! Perhaps even you, dear reader, have found yourself hungry in the wilds with nothing but crumbs left in your pack. You could cook yourself a nice meal at a campfire…if only you hadn’t spent all your time learning fighting skills instead of the noble art of cooking. Lucky for you, it’s never too late to learn, and our series of beginner-friendly cookbooks is here to teach you everything you need to know! Before you know it you’ll be baking potatoes, roasting beef, and stewing cabbage like a master. You can even turn your new culinary skills into wondrous arms and armor!
Features
Master Chef adds a progression system to cooking. You’ll start out unable to cook so much as a potato, but as you acquire cookbooks, you’ll learn recipes for a variety of meals, including two new meals from "Uncommon Taste." If you wish to fully pursue the path of the Master Chef, you can use your culinary and alchemical skill to infuse your chef’s clothes, knife, and fork with powerful enchantments.
Cookbooks
Cookbooks all have a handy prefix for easy sorting and identification. Basic cookbooks can be purchased from innkeepers. More advanced cookbooks can be purchased from chef NPCs, the Winking Skeever, and Nightgate Inn. Cookbooks also have a (rare) chance to drop as loot from enemies.
Some recipes may require multiple cookbooks, and some cookbooks need additional mods to be truly useful.

Compatibility
Master Chef edits several vanilla records - it renames Chef's Shoes (from just Shoes), it adds cookbook leveled lists to various merchant containers and one vanilla level list (for random book loot), and it edits the book "Uncommon Taste." Consult xEdit to see if these changes impact your game.
Requirements
Master Chef requires the Apothecary Food and Drink addon and Thaumaturgy. It doesn't explicitly require the Apothecary potions module, or the rest of SimonRim, but I highly recommend them.

Master Chef works great with C.O.C.K.S. and Cooking Categories Improvement, no patch needed. If you want maximum chef roleplay, check out my lightweight starter class mod Humble Beginnings.
Credits
Master Chef wouldn't be possible without the creators of Apothecary (Simon and Delta) and Thaumaturgy (Simon, Delta, Oreo, and Hypebringer). I also wanted to shout out the nice folks in the SimonRim discord for all their help.
