The entire layout has been redone from scratch to make use of updated techniques and assets.
The rooms have been scaled down to 0.75 to fit the aesthetic of the rest of Markarth interior cells. This should make for a more comfy house with less oversized rooms that needed to be filled. The rooms should also be less cluttered as a result.
Relocated the forge and library to another part of the cell, leaving the Bathroom as it’s own room instead of a hub.
The house should be more functional with a looping design and dedicated crafting rooms easily accessible and close-by.
Fixed the issue with the Navmesh that messed with the adoption system.
Decoupled the entire decoration system from the one used in the base game to prevent incompatibilities.
Added a brand new system to decorate the house, making use of the barter menu instead of the janky mess of dialogues that were used until now. This system is experimental, so don't hesitate to give some feedback on it to help me work the kinks out.
Lighting is still a pain in the ass in this game, choices had to be made and some places (like corridors) might get a little dark.
- Description -
This mod overhauls Vlindrel Hall, the default player home located in Markarth. This overhaul aims to create a warmer home for the Dragonborn and its family, reworking the initial floor-plan to add some additional space to the original house. The mod makes almost entirely use of Skyrim assets with a few custom-made meshes to fit the needs of the house. it should be compatible with most HD re-meshes and re-textures out there as long as they stay close to the original shapes they are replacing. I am using a few myself and have not come across any problems so far.
- Installation -
- Use a mod manager software such as Vortex, install, enable the mod and voilà! - Or drop the content of the archive into your "Skyrim Special Edition\Data" folder
- Acquisition -
The house can be acquired by completing Jarl Igmund's request and helping 5 people in the Hold.
Furnishing the house requires you to buy the upgrades from the steward.
A new system has been put in place to buy the upgrades. Instead of having to navigate through a dialogue menu, the upgrades will be listed through a vendor interface. As a result, Bartering will apply to the price of the upgrades.
