Beyond that, there's one last mod I have up my sleeve, which should be coming early December. After that, I don't know... part of the reason why I'm calling it quits with followers is that it feels like I've done everything I could now and it's getting into rehashing the same ideas, lines, etc.
Is there a walkthrough or something somewhere to Eris? I want to see all she has to say, as well as go through her own personal quest, which I am absolutely certain of there being one.
Not sure what is wrong with my install. There are two of her when I go to meet her for the first time. She's also not wearing her face covering. I tried reinstalling but same thing. I messed up and don't have a save before I met her the first time. Is there a way to reset her with console commands?
Hi there! Love Eris as a follower, such a cool concept for a companion. I am having an issue though, when I recruit her in the bannered mare there is no knapsack anywhere for me to access her heavy armor. Am I missing something? I am using the most up to date version.
I like her... but sometimes she annoys me to no end. Keeps picking fights with other followers, keeps getting stuck in sneak, and keeps saying certain lines way too much. Those lines had their charm in the beginning, but after a while they get old. Especially because they have zero variation.
Can you even cure her blindness? I mean, I can replace her eyes, but I was thinking at a quest to make her whole again and stop talking about it.
No, I don't want to see what's under your hood, I already replaced your clothes and I can see you. Yes, I know you are aware that they're dead. No, you are not blind, only falmers get this effect in-game. I'm not blind either, you are in my way. ffs.
Some of the things you described are the reason I let her go. First of all, not long after installing her I realised that she's one of those followers who tend to repeat the same lines over and over again, which can become extremely annoying after a while, so no matter how great a follower might be otherwise, hearing the same stuff time and time again isn't fun at all and can drive you nuts after a while, thus negatively affecting the whole experience with the mod. And also, if you dismiss her during your playthrough and recruit her again after completing some quests alone, she starts talking about them even though she didn't experience them with you and would have no way of knowing anything about them, and when she is with you during certain quests, there are dialogue options available about stuff that didn't happen yet, which makes zero sense, so off she went. The mod has a lot of potential, though, and I mean A LOT! - she could have been one of the best follower mods out there, if not the best follower mod, but the things that both of us described totally prevent her from being one, unfortunately, so I can only imagine how great she would be without the problems she has.
What I don't agree with you, however, is what you said about her blindness; I don't mind it at all - it makes her truly unique since she's the only character in the game besides Falmer that has to rely on other senses instead of her vision when fighting enemies, without being a savage monster, ofc, which is really cool and refreshing, but her constant complaining about me being in her way, when she's clearly the one who's bumping into me all the time, along with repeating the same lines over and over again and stuff, is just too much to bear. Shame.
If you dismiss her 2-3 times, you get something... for me it's a bug I think. If you want to recruit her again, her line is (Silence), and dialog option is "Erin?". If you pick that option you get something like (pained groan) the screen goes black, only the compass on the top is active. And that's it, you can only exit game, nothing else is to do. Maybe it's a botched script, I don't know - and I don't really care. I'll try restart, disable, enable, kill and resurrect. If those don't fix her dialogue there is actually zero reason for me to keep her. I realize this is supposed to be a scripted event where she discloses something from her past, but I couldn't care less about her "story" right now.
The only reason I kept her was because I play with Conquest of Skyrim mod, and I want each army commander to be essential. So I only recruited her and parked her in a player home. But now I need a commander... and as usual she's unreliable and buggy.
@theprusa well, I have a lot of girl companions, all dressed nice. Among them, with those creepy white eyes and messy hair, Eris is textbook ugly duckling. Add to that the aforementioned annoyances and the fact that unlike other people I have no Fire Keeper fetish (haven't played Dark Souls) so for me she's just a misfit that plays hard to get.
@Tahadar: She isn't supposed to look pretty or hot, so she's definitely not another waifu-in-a-useless-bikini-armour mod. She still looks pretty, though, at least to me she does, and no, I don't have a "Fire Keeper fetish" - I had to Google who Fire Keeper is haha, but I'm not concerned about her looks (or should I say I wasn't since I don't use the mod anymore), especially since she isn't another follower with a romance option - she's supposed to be a mysterious character with unique features who's a dangerous destruction magic/stealth-using fighter that knows how to survive in the toughest and deadliest circumstances despite her blindness as she learned to rely on other senses and became really good at it with time, but her constant talking during fights, bumping into me and complaining about it like it's my fault, repeating the same lines over and over again, blowing our cover and getting into fights with enemies far stronger than her time and time again while using novice-level destruction spells, getting her ass kicked in the process, makes her anything but that, unfortunately, which is something we can both agree with.
Hey, not to be that guy, but after this happened to me, and such before reading your comment, I can confirm this is NOT a bug. Wait a moment and look around. You should see a camp in the darkness with a woman, whose voice is near-identical to Eris'. Approach her. Find Eris again and talk to her after that.
Eris is so cool :-) One problem though: I can't let her equip armor. She only accepts head-armor. Everything else is ignored, she only wears her default robe. She won't even wear her own armor. I'm on 1170 and have NFF installed BUT have her NOT managed by it. I have the same problem with Lucien, but NOT with Inigo. Same save. Nothing's overwritten.
So it's probably not Eris' fault, but I'm asking here and at Lucien. Maybe some genius has an idea.
If she's wearing a robe instead of armor, you can try equipping the armor she gives you and then swap items to give her the armor she's wearing. At least my problem has been solved that way.
I tried that, but it didn't help. Thank you anyway :) I "solved" it another way by using "Try My Outfit"-mod to force her to wear anything. At least visually. Not a perfect solution but better than nothing.
I had a similar problem with her, the only way I found to fix the issue was:
1. Open the console command 2. Click on Eris 2. Type "showinventory" 3. Then type "removeitem x", "x" being the ID of the item she is wearing (cuirass, robe, glove, etc...) 4. Doing so will make her naked, but it will also make her wear anything you give her.
Any idea how to make her use Conjure Dremora Lord? It's the only spell she know, she has enough mana and I keep training her conjuration. She just only use one handed weapon and sparks though.
I can't get rid of her default armor. The only way to remove them is using NFF create outfit but only works on first time and always CTD after i wanna change her outfit again. I tried "You Wear What I Tell You To Wear" mod by ryan0585 and it crashed immedietly (this mod works on NFF Create outfit). Also tried manually remove her armor with console command but all armor slot reapper when removing last slot. Any idea how to fix this?
She has a Custom Follower Framework that is outside besesda and other frameworks, just that you imported her into NFF Breaks her entire scripting alone. i also use the DisArmor Shout and it works, plus there is the bag of her belongings near her with a full set of light and heavy armor as well. Her Default is i remember is a Heavy Armor so that might be part of your mess up. recruit her with her own system then talk about her armor/appearence in the we need to talk menu(NOT inside or imported into NFF) and there should be plenty of options in there,
You can always SSEEdit her default outfit out. NPC record outfit and outfit record deleted. Backup the esp first. I had to do that because the default heavy armor at least was giving me periodic CTD's and I'm on .640 and can't use .net framework to diagnose bad meshes. I only randomly came here looking at the bug reports and figured I'll replace with vanilla steel plate and see what happens. Periodic CTD's stopped so far. Going to replace with Spindrift Knight-black version when I can craft it. It even has a blindfold.
