I wonder if it would be possible to use the look of this model in something like Shattered, to give all the buildings a more weathered, abandoned, ruined look.

How does it play with lighting mods like Lux that need separated meshes? Love the design. :)

my mod contains only one nif splitted into several parts and with ELFX or ELFX Shadows it works perfectly, also because being an abandoned house its dimly lit but I have no idea what Lux adds in that cell

The front page says it's compatible with any other mod.  Any confirmation that it plays well with Ryn's Lund's Hut?  I'd love to have the look of Wiz's house with the story/surrounds of Ryn.

that natural phenomenon when an abandoned building starts sprouting rocks from its roof

maybe they put the rocks there to hold the thatch of the roof, which is quite common for certain types of buildings

yeah, it's just an odd juxtaposition when none of the vanilla farmhouses have it

that said, it's a neat mod and i'll probably incorporate it into my load order

I don't think he rocks are unusual at all. there's some historical evidence to suggest that's that's what they were used for on thatched huts. Considering that Lund's hut is on a fairly tall ridge line over looking the Whiterun plains, that does seem plausible. Though the ones I've seen so far some to be more of a grid pattern across the entire roof line. Still, I'm no expert so who knows?

the placement of stones on the roofs is a very ancient practice, it is still done today to keep certain sections of the roof still. The reason why only this house has stones on the roof is simple, it was a choice of those who built it, in the end there is nothing so strange, the houses in ancient times weren't built by companies following stringent dictates, obviously they followed rules, also and above all on the basis of the place where they were built but for obvious reasons there was a certain degree of freedom

I think it looks fine. Nothing against the vanilla model, but it's great to see variations like this that give some local flavor to otherwise bland locations. And frankly, the more I look at it, the more I like it. Sure, it looks kind of disheveled, but I think that makes sense. Lund always struck me as an odd bachelor farmer living out here in the middle of nowhere, sharing space with the forsworn. I had the impression he wasn't quite right in the head.

It's true that they used rocks to keep the thatch in place, however it doesn't look like this mod. The rocks were smaller and attached to ropes, they would use the rocks to keep the ropes firm over the thatched roof. So the rocks should be hanging near the edge of the roof in a straight line instead. Now they look randomly placed, but it fits Lund's lore I guess.

not compatible, mine remains faithful to the vanilla concept and story behind Lund (Lund, a lonely farmer who lives lost into nowhere inside a shack), no pot of flowers to take care of nor a real lush farm full of crops or even a mill

Actually I've tried it together with Lund's Hut Reborn and looks good. It all depends on the model replacers you use in your game. With flora mods like Ancient Trees and 3D Deathbells it looks like abandoned shack with wild flowers overgrowing the place after not being tended to ever since the wife's death. The mod doesn't add any crops or mills like the Ryn's Farm version. Instead there is a small pond and an old grave.

      Spoiler:
      Show

According to the clues found in the hut, Lund has committed suicide by taking poison sometime after his wife's passing.

    Thanks for your work!

But I have to ask, for the parallax effect, can I just use ENB instead of SSE Parallax Shader Fix?
Or I still need it even though I have ENB?

    Thanks!

I’m curious to know if anyone has tried this with Interesting NPCs (3dNPC.esp) yet?

I know the authour placed a rather peculiar NPC inside the hut…

I’ll check it out myself this weekend when I’m next at my rig if no one does so before.

EDIT: I really need to read mods’ descriptions better… compatible with everything…
