Read the title and thought I'd found a mod that adds... idk... 'diplomatic dragons.' Took that to mean it added dragons who could be talked to. Sure some that still attacked on sight, but maybe added some new ones who would initiate dialog. Some might talk trash before they take you on, while others are curious or impressed at your ability to take down some of their named brothers. Maybe adding speech checks to avoid fighting, or convincing some to join Party-Snax's dragon faction, or if you're really respected and/or convincing even some that could be talked into following you for a short time on your current adventure.
Splendor, yes, can confirm after several playthroughs (Splendor is just a texture mod at the end of the day with prettier/more varied-looking dragons so it's compatible with almost anything that doesn't change how dragons look).
Thank you for this. Them dragon attacks get annoying sometimes. It's a chore to kill them. Always like a 20 minute ordeal with them when I'm just trying to finish whatever quest I'm in.
Timing is Everything also allows one to adjust the frequency of random dragon attacks. Will the two mods play nicely together? (I realise that one could just use TIE to essentially disable random dragon attacks until one gets to the desired point/quest stage, and then enable them in MCM, but supposing someone was lazy or absent-minded enough to make it desirable to use this mod to disable random attacks until that point and TIE to determine frequency afterwards..? Asking for a friend)
I feel like to better pair with your Dragon War mod, I'd suggest the ability to have Diplomatic Dragons make it so that you can encounter random dragons after you give Arngeir the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller. Thinking about it from a lore perspective as well, you get formally sworn in as a Dragonborn right after that, and that would attract dragons around the world for sure, all of whom want to seek out and destroy you or test your might.
But from a practical standpoint, this would allow you to "bank" the horn until after you gain access to Sky Haven Temple and then enable random dragon spawns just as you get the Clear Skies shout, making dragon fights much more balanced. It gives the player a bit more control for when they want to start random dragon encounters, and gives you the perfect amount of breathing room so that you don't feel particularly rushed to do the main quests just so you or NPCs get potentially obliterated by storm-calling dragons.
After more than 11 years of playing Skryim, I can honestly say this is a mandatory mod. This is how the Main Quest should've been from Day One release of Skyrim. So thank you.

There is a dragon flying arounds on Bonestrewn Crest.
so basically, this just delays the dragon attack random encounter.
