Overview
This mod disables the constant passive health regeneration on the player, while still allowing temporary regeneration effects.
It is intended to be lightweight and highly compatible, so no extra hidden features or out of scope additions.
Potions of Regeneration or other sources of the Fortify Health Regen effect like enchants still work.
Waiting or fast traveling does not regenerate health, sleeping in a bed however does.
Argonian Histskin and Ring of the Hunt work (see Known Bugs).
Requirements
The Default version works for both SE or AE, with or without SurvivalMode CC present.
Install the Sunhelm version only if you use that mod and want to disable the small regen boost that feeling warm gives, otherwise default works as well.
Installation/Uninstallation
Use a mod manager to install, the fomod installer allows to select between Default and Sunhelm version.
I do not recommend to remove the mod mid playthrough, but if you feel adventurous delete the spell on the player, and then add it back after you removed the mod and restarted the game.
player.removespell 1031D3
player.addspell 1031D3
The above steps are also required when adding the mod to an existing save and may be required when upgrading between versions (certainly doesn't hurt).
Compatibility
Designed to be compatible with the mods I use, most notably:
Valravn, Vokrii, Odin
Skyrim Souls RE - Updated
SunHelm Survival
Generally compatible with any mod that doesn't touch PCHealRateCombat "Combat Heal Rate" [SPEL:001031D3], requires patching with SSEEdit otherwise.
If a mod adds things that modify HealRate instead of HealRateMult they will probably have no effect without a patch.
Technical Details
The mod changes PCHealRateCombat, a hidden spell permanently on the player, and adds its own effect to it.
The effect itself reduces the HealRateMult Actor Value by 100.
The SunHelm Survival version removes a reference to a 10% HealRateMult in one of the SunHelm spells.
The default version of the mod (for SE and AE) detects if SurvivalMode CC is enabled and then disables the effect of the mod.
The section about Passive Regeneration on UESP contains a great explanation on the involved game mechanics.
Known Bugs
Some mods seems to break Ring of the Hunt, have not quite figured out how this happens.
Future Plans
I might add Magicka and Stamina regen reduction options. See my reply in the post section why I wont.
Alternatives
Survival Mode does a similar thing, but I don't like the added baggage.
Realistic Regeneration - Realgen is a huge mod and looks great, but I felt like it's overkill when all I wanted is to disable health regen.
Regen Adjuster SKSE is quite extensive as well but uses an ini config instead of MCM.
No More Passive Health Regeneration looks very similar to what my mod does, but the creator quit modding and I had already started writing my own mod.
