Vortex users who still can't get the animations to work after trying the manual installation fix!!
I reinstalled through vortex instead of manually, and while running FINIS I just ticked the MO/Vortex path support patch on the bottom list (probably should have had it ticked anyway, but shh), loaded the game and the animations were running without any problems!
This might have just been me having no common sense, but if you're having troubles with the manual installation, it wouldn't hurt to tick that patch in FINIS first then install normally as it might work for you :D
does this work with dynamicanimationreplacer? got back into skyrim and when i downloaded dyanimicanimationreplacer and open animation replacer it was fking up the game and i had to disable one which i chose open animation replacer.
For anyone else using vortex completely unable to get this to work; I had to both move my skyrim installation to the root of my drive AND manually install the files into the OAR folder c:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\meshes\actors\character\animations\OpenAnimationReplacer. Just drag and drop the entire folder OAR folder.
Nothing else would work, installing with vortex would not work.
Perhaps you had ''file path is too long'' problem? fixed it by placing files in folder with shorter file path by hand
From my mod description: ...you have "file path is too long" problem on your PC, because for some reason your mods folder is not close to disk's root direction. Windows OS can't access files along lengthy file path and because of that OAR won't be able to do it also. Don't worry, solution is simple. Mod Organizer 2 users just need to rename installed mod folder from "Gesture Animation Remix (OAR)" to much shorter "GAR OAR" for example. Do similar renaming to shield patch folder as well. People who use other mod managers (Vortex, NMM...) need to manually extract "Gesture Animation Remix (OAR)", rename it to "Data", repack and reinstall. If you need a shield patch, do the same for it.
CHIMgarden ... You are obviously an expert in Skyrim Animation. Those of us new to modding in animations could use an 'in depth' guide as to types of animations (OAR, DAR, etc) and compatibilites and what to do and NOT to do. etc. While I am not new to modding, I am new to animation mods. I am now going through an entire revamping of my Skyrim AE game and 'touching' a number of technical and modding aspects I never paid much attention to before.
I have tips to share and I wish I had energy to make a guide like that... It is not what mostly needed though, people want plug and play solutions, so I was focused on providing that. But I like to give advice, if someone asks for it in the comments somewhere :)
Hi. Im new to all this OAR and DAR, but i already have DAR preinstalled. Can i use your animations nad how exactly? Drop GRA folder in DynamicAnimationReplacer?
For me the most annoying thing is when voice line length matches animation length it is for some reason makes this gesture play another time... and another and another time on occasion. I tried to fix it, but it caused other problems instead

DAR is causing crashes you heard? Well yes, but actually NO, read this short article "Too many DAR animations can lead to CTD - read this to know how to avoid it"
Version of this mod for Legendary Edition Skyrim is ready! Gesture Animation Remix (DAR) - LE 1.1.0 version
