If you are getting any CTDs in-game after generating LOD, please generate LOD again and use the usual "tree" mesh rule with:
Level0 for LOD Level 4,
Billboard* for LOD Level 8/16,
and just change Grid from "Far LOD" to "Far Full".
If you are still getting CTDs, please try the solution CaptainFordo5 has provided:
a) Clean the meshes through CAO.
b) Make sure to run DynDOLOD after cleaning the meshes.
Disclaimer: if using this solution, you will break the connection between the full tree models with the provided 3D hybrid LODs
Detailed Explanation
There's a lot of different folders that contain meshes.
Open Cathedral Assets Optimizer, click open directory, navigate to where you have the mod installed.

Generate textures and run DynDOLOD:
Do not use any "2D Tree Billboards" Optional File from the Veydogolt Trees mod, use one of (or both) the "3D Hybrid LODs" files.
Do not overwrite with any other LOD option from any other mod, as these can conflict or override TexGen output, which is required as a resource for DynDOLOD to do its work.
Run TexGen 3 to generate tree and trunk billboards (see this guide step), install as a mod, and ENABLE this mod.
Run DynDOLOD 3 to generate trees in object LOD (see this guide step), install as a mod, and ENABLE this mod.

2D Billboards - LOD generation guide
Veydogolt comes together with full 3D LOD for both the main file and the Extra Trees file.
But it also offers its own 2D Billboards optional file. That however may not look right with your ENB, the billboards may look too bright/dark compared to the actual tree. Here is an easy guide to create your own 2D Billboards in -literally- less than an hour!
Start TextGenx64 from inside your mod manager (important!).
Wait for it to load your mods.
Adjust as per the image below, press Start.
Wait for it to finish, save & exit.
Take the C:\Games\DynDOLOD3\TexGen_Output\ folder and add it last in your load order.
