I'm really looking forward to the planned features of unlimited MCM menus, renaming and reordering. Until those get implemented though, do you know if this mod would be compatible with (warning - NSFW site link:SkyUI - Resort)? That mod does some pretty amazing stuff, but I'm not sure of it's stability or if it's compatible with VR...also it's hosted on LL. I'd much rather just use MenuMaid though since it's on the Nexus and still being updated.
The good news is that I'm taking on MenuMaid starting tomorrow. I just need to figure out well how to implement an unlimited number of MCMs so that managing them will be intuitive and easy.
On config menu I see just show/hide all mcms and no single mod listed. What can go wrong? I added this mod mid game as it shouldn't affect save I suppose.
EDIT: I noticed original config menu instance was named SKI_QF_ConfigManagerInstance. No clue where is this QF from. I have MCM SKYUI version installed
For the SkyUI Override version, ski_configmanager.pex conflicts with the same script included with the recently released MCM Recorder. This is the only other mod in my load order that conflicts with this. The author of MCM Recorder is very responsive (you both are), I'm sure she'll work with you for some official compatibility. These mods combined are kind-of a game-changer.
MenuMaid is a simple modification and does nothing out of the ordinary. Creating a patch to add compatibility is very easy, just copy the few lines of code I added to ski_configmanager. So you can be sure that they will be compatible with each other before long. Besides, you can always use the first version, which doesn't overwrite anything.
Gave it a shot, but I can't get it to compile at all. The reason why I was trying that version was because the SexLab mod complains about SkyUI missing with the normal version, even though SkyUI isn't being touched at all.
I took a look at this and it's not quite as simple as you make it sound. You don't provide source, and diffing the decompiled version of your script against the decompiled stock version produces a VERY messy diff.
The compile issues that lilmetal mentions are specifically that self.VerboseMessage isn't defined. Commenting out those lines lets it all compile. Edit: Nope, I just missed the function when I was copying over changes =D
Anyway, despite all that, I made a go at a patch -- I think I got everything this mod adds:
I'm trying to implement your fix but I'm so lost on this one. Can you give me a brief rundown of what the heck you did here and how I can replicate? I'd like to run both Menu Maid and MCM Recorder, I'm not sure how exactly your fix works but I'd be interested to try it out and see if it breaks my game or resolves the incompatibility.
Same here. From what I understand, it would involve compiling the script in the link, but obviously that's something that most end users aren't comfortable doing, or would even have the first idea how to do it. I think I'm going to have to just wait for someone to provide the compiled script as a patch. Don't think I'll be able to use MenuMaid until then - MCM Recorder is just way too needed for me, who starts new playthroughs way too often.
Using your non SKUI version also seems to break MCM Recorder. I did do the recordings without your mod installed, and upon starting a new game with it installed, trying to play back a recording tells me it can't find the mcm menu for any of the mods when I try them.
I can't seem to get either version to show up in my MCM. I have all mods from DarkLady Lexys mod guide installed. At first with MenuMaid installed, on a new game, it just CTD. I tried on a later save with both versions, and though there was no crash, there was no Menu Maid MCM entry. Any ideas?
Encountering an odd bug, and I'm not sure if MenuMaid is responsible or not. More looking for advice than anything else. I had to abandon a playthrough, with Immersive Armors, Extended Encounters and Immersive Encounters hidden by MenuMaid. Now having reinstalled everything and begun a stable new game, the MCMs for these three mods are nowhere to be seen. I've tried reinstalling them multiple times, to no avail.
Now I had the Settings Loaders for these three games installed, and their settings have been saved, so I don't NEED the MCMs for these mods. I'm just wondering if you have any clue what's going on? Is there a simple setting in their config files that could make them reappear again?
Anyway, cheers for your efforts for the modding community. Your work is much appreciated.
The MCM SKYUI version sometimes bugs in a way that MCM menu doesn't load at all. Not even Menumaid shows in the list. Another thing is that when loading a save, it usually just loads all the MCM menus, even the hidden ones.
Thank you for info, I'm working on MenuMaid2. This will be a new mod, and I will leave this one as is. In version 2, everything will be changed so that the only similarity will be the name. The whole MCM management system will be replaced by a new one. Unlimited number of MCMs, hiding, renaming, changing position or MCMs displaying (continuous, compact, etc) and what else comes to my mind. If you have any ideas on what would be useful let me know.
I didn't mean to sound like an asshole. It's just that other versions you've shared has worked exactly like they should and your settings loaders are extremely welcome. Just wanted to point out there are some issues with the MCM SKYUI version. I'm sorry I can't provide better information for debugging. Thought if you are working on MM2, I don't think it would've helped anyways. Really looking forward to MenuMaid2.
Hey ! Thanks for the mod, I really needed to tidy up my MCM Menu.
One big question thou, is the save / load feature working for everyone else ? Even without MCM recorder (trying to see if both work together), I cannot manually save or load the settings and I do not want the menus to be automatically hidden on a new game.
Ha, glad to know it's not just a problem on my end then and it can indeed be fixed :). Thank you very much for all the effort and for the quick reply ! Keep up the amazing work as always!

I've not extensively tested it, but I did start a game and they both seem to function.

I will fix the manual loading. Indeed, it does not work as it should.
