About this mod

A "faithful" face overhaul for Lydia to go alongside her dialogue overhaul. Requires some stuff.

By far, the question I get most frequently is "Roadhouse, can you please make your Improved Follower Dialogue - Lydia mod compatible with Lydia - Ultimate Coomer Overhaul?" or "Why is Improved Follower Dialogue - Lydia not compatible with face overhaul mods? One edits dialogue, the other edits her face."

Yeah, I've gotten pretty tired of all that. And after working with AtropianPride on his ridiculous waifu mods, I've realized that some appearance mods like KSHairdos, The Eyes of Beauty, and High Poly Head are actually way, way better than I thought they were. I think Vanilla NPCs ultimately look better than the ridiculous, underaged-looking characters that most main-line appearance overhauls add, but the aforementioned mods basically let you make Vanilla+ NPCs.

So here it is. A Roadhouse-sanctioned face overhaul for Lydia, that's pretty faithful to her original design. I guess you could call this the "canon" appearance for Lydia, at least within Improved Follower Dialogue.
There are two versions: One that has her continue to use opposite gender animations, and the other does not. Both are .esl-flagged .esp files.

FAQ:
Q: Why isn't IFD - Lydia compatible with face overhaul mods, anyway?
A: In short, the reason why the two mods conflict is because ALL of the data relating to Lydia is stored in one record - her appearance, her voicetype, her inventory, factions, etc. Both mods edit Lydia's form. Bijin (or similar mods) changes Lydia's appearance, IFD changes her voicetype from FemaleEvenToned to FemaleUniqueLydia. When you have that mod installed, it overwrites the changes made to Lydia's record through this one.

Q: I don't even like this overhaul that much. I want something that'll really tickle my balls.
A: Download something else, then, and make your own patch. I'm really not interested in making a character I wrote into an absurd-looking underaged waifu.

Q: When is the next update for Lydia coming out?
A: No idea. I still need to figure out the general plot of what her personal quest is going to be. I have the requirements I want to fulfill outlined, but I'm trying to figure out just how to execute them. It's not easy to make that sort of content for a character who's already been developed so much.

Q: This Lydia kind of looks like Gina Carano... is that intentional?
A: I think it's just the hair. I wanted to go for something that looked similar to Lydia's vanilla hair, and that was the closest thing that actually makes her look like a grown-ass woman who's job is to protect a kleptomaniac sociopath who screams at flying death lizards.

Q: I don't think it's just the hair, it's the face, too.
A: My friend said that, but I really can't see it. Gina Carano has enormous dimples as a result of being Italian-American and having them stretched out by her grandmother when she was a child.

Q: [Opinion about controversy surrounding Gina Carano]
A: I don't really think this is the place to share that.

Q: Way to use one of the oldest Italian-American jokes in the book.
A: I promise there are better ones on the way. I have a Fallout 4 mod planned where the primary character is an Italian guy from rural New York who just goes on 10 minute tirades about inane bullshit.

Q: "An Italian guy from rural New York who just goes on 10 minute tirades about inane bullshit." That's literally this mod page. And all your other mod pages.
A: Yeah, it kind of is.

That's all I've got for you today. For those who stayed until the end, my advice to you is that the less you use your social batteries, the less capacity they're going to have. If you go for too long without interacting with a lot of people, you're going to not be able to sustain social interactions for as long. Don't let those horribly cringe introvert memes get you all complacent about the type of person you could be.
