      Uninstall Wearable Lanterns MCM Fix. Wearable Lanterns MCM Fix included an LE/Oldrim version of StorageUtil.dll which will completely prevent SKSE from loading any dll plugins.

      Old versions of CoMAP and Compass Navigation Overhaul may cause an incompatibility that breaks all SKSE mods:
      If you're on 1.6.640, recently downloaded the newest 4.0.0 update of CoMAP (released 10 days ago at the time of writing) and are also using Compass Navigation Overhaul alongside it, you will experience weird SKSE plugin bugs including plugins not working correctly, CTDs pointing to the plugins, issues with SPID distributions and more. In my case it was crashes from Community Shaders shortly after loading the main menu and then from the Improved Camera beta while loading a save.

      These issues are caused by an obscure incompatibility between these 2 mods, more specifically the newest version of CoMAP, that is responsible for SKSE plugins of all kind to malfunction in various ways.

      To avoid this, download the "Compass Navigation Overhaul Temporary Workaround" optional file from the CoMAP page and overwrite the dll from the main file with it until CNO gets an update to support the latest version of CoMAP. The author of CNO is aware of the issue and is working on it.
      Please update CoMAP and Compass Navigation Overhaul or they will prevent SKSE from loading any dll plugins.

      Before asking for help without the relevant information. Go through this check list:
      1. What verison of visual c++ redistributable are you using? Is it the correct version?
      1. What version of skyrim se are you using? 1.5.97 or 1.6?
      2. What version of SKSE are you using? is it the correct version for your game?
      3. What version of address library are you using? is it the correct version for your game?
      4. What version of po3 tweaks are you using? is it the correct version for your game?
      5. What verison of security overhaul skse are you using? is it the correct version for your game?
      6. Are you actually looking at any locks this mod changes?
      7. Are you launching the game through skse?
      8. Post skse64.log and po3_lockvariations.log in my documents/my games/skyrim special edition/skse. Put it on pastebin
      9. Post screenshots of the mod not working

    Just want to add a comment in case anyone searches through the comments regarding using this with Enderal.

    So far, I'm using SOSKSE Lock Variations, SOSKSE Lock Add-ons, and SOSKSE Extra Locks. All seem to be working fine so far with the various chests, containers, and doors in Enderal. I'll come back and edit this comment if I seem to find an issue. Keep in mind, I'm using the version of Enderal released on Steam. And remember—Enderal is on 1.5.97, so any mods (including this one) should be installed with versions that correspond to 1.5.97.

    Below is a picture of a chest in Enderal that is properly using SOSKSE Extra Locks.

    I think Locksmith addon completely overwrites the new lock designs added by this, sadly... and I don't want to give it up either.

    I don't see any patches to make them work together either.

    Edit: my bad, I just had this installed, not the 3 addon mods for it adding even more lock designs, so I probably just didn't run into any of the new locks. I've seen some new ones now.

    Hi there, I have a question that I don't think I've been able to find via searching through the comments or on the mod description page. Is there a way to completely remove one kind of lock? I can locate the meshes/textures/entry in the ini file of the lock I'd like to delete, but I know nothing about dlls. I just have a personal sensitivity issue to one of the lock variations...otherwise, love this series of mods!

      1. Open LockVariations_LID.ini.
      2. Find needed lock name (I guess you are talking eather about falmer or apocrypha lock).
      3. Delete nine lines corresponding to that lock.
      You can also put ; sign before each line, instead of deleting them.
      I don't think you need to delete textures or meshes.
      Test if this works before playing, I haven't tried it myself.

      On its own, it wouldn't be so bad, but it's how it looks twisted plus the sound it makes. But I have sensory issues with a lot of the Falmer-related things. I used a Chaurus replacer mod for a long time because the Chaurus triggered me as well. The Falmer themselves also gross me out with both their appearance and the sounds they make, but I usually snipe them from far away haha. I don't know how to summarize it, it's similar to how some people get grossed out or can't stand the sight of blood (in real life) and can't control their ick response; it's the same for me with this lock and other Falmer-related things.

    Just posting a comment to say that here :

    I have not succeed in making this mod works (It crashes when I interact with a chest. Probably something wrong on my side with powerofthree's Tweaks, I run Skyrim 1.57 and I have a very touchy installation so I take the blame on that). Anyway I decided to replace all locks in the game with one from the Add-ons mod. Works like a charm, the mesh and texture is very high quality.

    If anyone is interested to have the same it's easy to do.
    First, you choose the lock you want to use (in my case, the nordic lock).
    Then, you take the textures from the mod and you put them in your data folder with the same file path (in my case, I took lock_nordic_n.dds and lock_nordic_d.dds and I moved them in Data\textures\interface\objects\lockpicking\sos).

    Then, you take the mesh file (in my case, lockpick_NordicLock02) and put them in Data\meshes\interface\lockpicking. Do not use the same file path as the mod. Then, you will have to rename that file from whatever it is called to lockpicklock01. After that, you will copy paste this file within that same folder and rename the second file to lockpickshiv01.
    Do not do the same mistake as me and end up with a file called lockpickshiv01.nif.nif X)

    That's all. If you end up with a purple lock in game, it's because you messed up the textures files somewhere. If nothing changes in game, it's because you messed up the mesh file somewhere.

    would it be possible to use this mod to call different lockpickingmenu swfs (e.g. skyblivion for some, vanilla for others) depending on the locked object or region, or is that outside its scope?

    hello, it appears that the locks do no work for some reason i got the latest of everything c++, po3, adrress library, skyrim ae and skse, also i don't have the wearable lanterns fix what should i do i'm out of ideas

    If you use the newest version of Skyrim SE then you have to use the AE 4.0 version of this mod. For me it fixed the problem of mod not showing up ;)

    Is power of three tweeks required?   I have the other two. POTW doesn't work, it never did. No effect.

    Does this work with lockpicking interface?

      I'm using the lock picking interface. So, POW doesn't work with GOG AE 1179 with engine bug fixes, MO2 gives plugin error.

      Suggestion, give more reference points to the some of the images. Looks great in the images.

      SKSE gave this error, not MO2. You installed the wrong version of the mod or missed dependencies. Please read requirements carefully.

      POT Tweaks gave the error. I narrowed it down. POTW mod hasn't worked ever. I just skip mods that use it, SKSE only. I'm tired of trying to get it work. :p

      Can you make the images as separate mods?  Yea, I know you have a life. ;)

      The dependencies are required for the mod to work. Hundred thousands people can get it to work, I'm sure you can do it too. I believe in you :)
