Regardless of player or NPC, equipped with a backpack will slow down speed and stamina recovery speed. When unequipped, it will return to its original state.
There are three types of debuffs, depending on the size of your backpack.
- Small: Speed/Stamina recovery speed reduced by 12% (possessed weight +30)
- Medium: Speed/Stamina recovery speed reduced by 18% (possessed weight +50)
- Large: Speed/Stamina recovery speed reduced by 24% (possessed weight +100)
- Extra large: Speed/Stamina recovery speed reduced by 30% (possessed weight +200)
And from v2.0, NPCs equipped with a backpack will throw the backpack to the ground when the battle begins. And when the battle is over, they will pick up and equip their backpacks.
In previous versions, NPCs equipped with backpacks felt unilaterally disadvantaged and sloppy compared to players. This solution makes the world look lively.It is esp with esl flag.

I like mods like Campfire - Complete Camping System (Supports Skyrim VR) and Wet and Cold SE. There are backpacks in those mods, which are also immersive and great. On the other hand, I felt that it was overpowered despite the low selling price and low availability.
While many adventurer NPCs don't have backpacks, it's strange that only players have them. However, there is no reason for players not to equip it.
I thought there needed to be a gameplay advantage without a backpack. I feel that both unequipped players and NPCs have a reason to do so. That's why I made this mod.
Even if you have a backpack, you have the option of removing it during battle. It's immersive and makes sense for gameplay.
