PSA: For anyone who just cares about the timescale feature of this mod, you can already do that via console commands in un-modded Skyrim. Just look up "Skyrim TImeScale console command".

    Hello,
I've been looking for this kind of mod for a long time but more specifically for the day and month of the year rather than the time of day. With the creation of seasons now, I'd like the game to launch each time by synchronizing not with the time but with the computer's date. If you play in summer on August 15, it's summer in the game and the 15th of Last Seed for example.

It's true that you can choose the day and month of the year each time you launch the last save, but it's not really immersive and laborious. This shouldn't get in the way of the quests, since, as far as I know, none of them are supposed to be triggered on a specific date in the game. We're entering the Christmas period and I'd love to see some changes in the game related to this time of year.

I have a few mods that I install every year for the Christmas period (textures with no impact on saving), but as with the seasons, ideally these mods would be installed all year round, but you'd only see the changes on December 1, for example, like the mod changing the seasons. Really, I dream of such a mod.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message.

Hello! is it possible for you to make other versions that can change the date of the game to a new day in less than 24 hours? I play it pretty much every day and it makes this mod stays in the same day forever. is it possible for you to make a version that it changes to the new day if you havent been playing it for like 8 hours?

    thank you so much ^^

Sorry if my English is not very good. I don't usually use this language, but I am pushing myself because I really wanted to say something to you. This mod is an invention! The dangers of playing Skyrim on timescale 1 are well known. But this mod, albeit pseudo, allows for it safely! I played this time with the timescale set to 8, but the mod rewinds time so often that it was effectively timescale 1. Skyrim at the same speed as reality was supremely immersive. On the other hand, there were areas where reality was compromised. Namely, sleep and fast travel. If I slept for 8 hours or traversed Skyrim, no time passed at all. That was quite disappointing. (Of course, what you intended in making this mod and my enjoyment of it are slightly different, so you are no more at fault than a subatomic particle! Well, hear me out a little more)The point is that having a version of this mod where the difference from real time widens with each sleep or fast travel would be a necessity for an immersion junkie like me. Especially those of us who risk setting our timescale to 5, 4 or even less for the sake of immersion, and I think a lot of them would jump at it! As an amateur, I can't imagine what the great modders are going through! But if you can make it happen with just a few tweaks, please make it happen! (I know that you have responded negatively to someone who has said the same thing as me. So your reply to me is also expected. I just wanted to let you know that it is not uncommon for people to think as they do.)

Hey, thank you so much for this! This mod is one of a kind and I didn't even believe there would be one like that.

As a suggestion, I was wondering if you could make something similar, that doesn't exactly change the game time, but instead syncs weather with PC time. I'm asking, because while the mod is awesome, it has quite a few issues with survival mode. For instance, travelling by carriage usually doesn't accumulate hunger/fatigue (because the game simply cannot keep up with such big time reset) and when you sleep and pass the midnight the next time sync passes an entire day giving character even more fatigue and other debuffs.
Synching weather, while not providing with the same immersion, still gives a more or less close feeling of realism yet it doesn't burden the game engine as much as constantly altering game time. Really reminds of how day/night cycle works in World of Warcraft, for example.

I tried making something like what I described myself, but I have almost no idea as to how to write mods. So... here's hoping you'll consider the suggestion!

Is this compatible with Isoku's Holiday mod?

Edit: Never mind, I missed that it does not effect day, only time of day. Is it possible to sync day of the year with real life day? For compatibility with holiday and other mods that add holiday content?

I looked into it and tried some stuff.

Turns out there's no good way to do that, at least not using the way that I thought of.

It seems the only way to do this is to set the date manually with a console command when you load it up on a new day, but I guess that not the worst alternative

ok this is going to sound dumb buuuuttttt,  i know it may not always be 100% accurate? but could you perhaps create a way to view time in game w/o open menu? something close to say navigate vr but instead of a compass its a pocket watch, or add it as a cosmetic wrist watch maybe?

This is amazing. I made a comment to a friend about how incredible it would be to have a real time clock system in Skyrim. Not for one second did I actually think it would be technically possible, let alone already exist. I've only just barely tested it as I'm still building my modlist, but seriously, absolutely incredible work on this. I can't believe how well it works, at least in testing. This is going to completely change the way I play. I guess since Skyrim sort of technically starts on August 17th, I'll make a thing of it and shoot for starting a full playthrough then - I think I should be able to keep the days properly synced up with waiting or console commands if need be. So I'll be sure to report how it all goes.

Anyway, just wanted to leave a comment right now saying thank you so much for making this. Genuinely a dream come true. I can't believe how little attention this has.

I'm happy to hear. Somehow, I still have yet to personally use this mod in a playthrough. (I guess I mostly just made it to know if it was possible.) But it is good to know other people might get enjoyment out of it. Hope it works well!

Works like a charm - endorsed!

One question; will I be stuck on the same in-game day forever?

      Thanks

I hadn't thought about how changing the game day would work. Yes, I think you might be stuck on same day (unless you literally play through 11:59 pm to 12:01 pm without triggering a re-sync). An oversight on my part.

I might have to release an update that fixes that in the future.

Edit: if you use the wait menu to wait 24 hours, the game day should still change. So that can be a manual way to do it for the time being.

Mh true, I did not think of the 24h wait.

But in general this mod is incredibly immersive. I would be glad if you keep on developing it!

Can someone who has downloaded the latest version confirm that it is working for them (or let me know if it is not)? Thanks.

Switching time zones and switching back doesn't work for me, but after installing the newest file it works but now it's 1 hour before the correct time.

Try the following: start a new game (or load up an old save where the mod was never installed), wait a little bit for the mod to load properly, then set your time zone in the MCM. Does it appear normal in this new game? (If you don't have it already, use the Live Another Life mod to skip the opening scene)

(If it does work, then I know what is happening. When I added the UTC-12 time zone in the newest update, everything in the time zone list had to be shifted over. Since you already had the old version installed the old "unshifted" version of the time zones list is still in your system.)

Let me know how it behaves in a new game. If that test is successful, I may be able to guide you on what to do next.

ok, then you need to manually restart GameTimeSynchronizer's quest on your old save.
Do the following to fix your old save:

0-(optionally) Make a save of your game right now as a backup
1-press "~" on your keyboard (it is next to the "1" key).
2-on your keyboard type "stopquest gts_quest" and then press enter
      3-Wait 15 seconds
      4-press "~" again
5-now type "startquest gts_quest" and press enter
      6-wait another 15 sec
      7-make another save
8-quit to main menu and load up the save

You should see that it fixed itself.
