Check my latest mod The Citadel of Snow - Lively Windhelm Bridge, it greatly improve bridge guards AI. It works perfectly with both Icy Windhelm and Capital Windhelm Expansion and without needing any patches.
Fixed a pathing issue that occurred with a character modified by AI Overhaul.
Fixed an issue related to Windhelm braziers, now those placed in interiors cells are no longer covered by snow. The mods Icy Windhelm - Throne Fix and The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal SE - Icy Windhelm Patch are now redundant. Thanks to "cbgreely" for the report and "toostruus" for the old Gray Cowl of Nocturnal patch.
Fixed Icy Windhelm - Capital Windhelm Expansion patch, removed a snow drift that covered a section of the city. Added some improvements, now the patch is 100% complete. Thanks to streetspirit87 for the report.
This new release completely revolutionizes the entire mod both in terms of aesthetics and compatibility with the most used snow shader mods, also all the bugs present in the previous release have been 100% fixed and the practicability of all the streets of the city has been greatly improved.
100% Compatible with Better Dynamic Snow and Simplicity of Snow. If you are using Better Dynamic Snow 2.11 you should download the required patch from the download "Optional Files" section.? Not compatible with Snowy AF Windhelm and other mods that serve the same purpose.
Important Note:
Using Better Dynamic Snow 3 you could run into issues of incorrect snow coloring on some models, this depends both on the snow texture replacer you are using and on the wrong choice of the options included in the BDS 3 FOMOD. This new version of Icy Windhelm does not modify any records related to the various snow shaders nor does it add any standard snow texture.
Let assets from this mod overwrite everything else in your load order
Due to the heavy changes made to this new version, the patch for Open Cities has been archived as it needs changes, for this reason I do not recommend you to use the old version as you may come across CTD.
Patch for JK's Skyrim updated and released. Patch for Capital Windhelm Expansion released. Patch for Windhelm Entrance Overhaul released.
Hi! I'm having a bug between Icy Windhelm and JK's Skyrim. I've checked everywhere and there is no patch that addresses this. The current JK's Skyrim patch doesn't fix this issue. Is there anything that can be done?
I use Northfires Windhelm as well and I get large portions of the ground that is not covered by snow, is this intentional or am I doing something wrong? I loaded this mod after Northfires.
Hi , i really like your mod, but i can't figure out why i get these ugly walls... I use simplicity of snow. I read something in description about textures, i use noble on top of skyrim realistic overhaul (from the step guide, just added noble skyrim and simplicity). If it's due to my textures any pack to recommend to pair with your mod ? That would be great. Thanks by advance
kind of, i used simplicity of snow, try with better dynamix snow , it was a bit better. Swichted to better dynamic snow 2.11 definitve edition, renamed it in better dynamic snow, and used the patcher made to go with the regular better dynamic snow 2.11. Problem gone and all my snow problem gone too. Counter part, on the walkways farmouse and so on, you have to imagine there has been a snow storm, cause there no sign of walking on the snow coat. Like in vanilla. Didn't find a workaround for that yet. But i'm ok with that.
Thanks for the reply! I've tried a lot of things to try and fix it too. Including switching from Simplicity to Better Dynamic Snow 3, load order changes, etc., but I haven't tried this yet! I'll try it and see what I think of it / if it fixes anything for me.
As a side note, I'm only experiencing this strange, stretched texture on the walkway in the second photo and nowhere else. Hopefully, this helps anyone else trying to narrow down what could be causing this. I additionally don't think it's related to textures since I'm using Skyland and Tomato's. Could be wrong though, of course :)
no pb :) Yop , it's not a matter of texture, i can confirm. You can also try to pair this ; to fix snow stretch there is also another mod like that. but it fixes only walls, not this weird section. I also forget to mention, that i overwrite icy windhelm with windhelm snowy AF. I'm quite happy with this town now, made it snowy and dark as possible. My favorite town ^^
Hi there wizkid34, loving the mod, and it seems to work well with CWE and Grey Quarter Expansion too.
The only thing I noticed that was slightly off (and others have been asking about this in the comments for the CWE bug fixes mod), was that Icy Windhelm moves the object "WHshorttower" (ref form 0009A360) a few feet to the left from its vanilla position.
This results in a gap underneath the mesh, and also objects placed by CWE (bird nest and a snow drift) look out of place, because they're intended to sit on / against the aforementioned short tower.
I've made my own compatibility patch in xEdit, but I'm just posting here in case anyone else is racking their brains over this one. Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but I didn't see a reference to it in the comments here.
guys, the problem is in your load order, my meshes use the vanilla texture path and in fact those who have everything installed correctly don't have this issue
I feel like an idiot. I was going mad trying to figure out why the mod wasn't working. Then I found a patch for lux, and sure enough everything worked just fine. Great mod btw.
