Future plans, fixes, and patches: 1. Fix any alignment issues (priority over everything). 2. Fix the three typos found. 3. Make a few map versions without Jarls, but instead use the Hold’s symbol (possible crossed-out versions). 4. Take request for a all custom stylized map version.
Please be on the lookout for version 1.2 (better alignment). Note, you can still use 1.1 and just overwrite it when 1.2 comes out (it is perfectly safe to do this mid play). I did my best for proper alignment when drawing the map, but seems I need to adjust texture/mesh in some areas.
ANYONE THAT DOWNLOADED VERSION 1 DELETE AND DOWNLOAD VERSION 1.1 THIS WILL FIX MAP NOT SHOWING UP. POST HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES AND WE WILL MAKE A PATCH.
Posting in hopes it will save someone pain in the a** that I'd had.
Flat Map Markers SSE seems to be outdated (therefore, the installation guide too?) - or at least not universally required. AE 1.6.659 GOG, Unmarked Map - it caused Player Marker to not display and fly all over the map + some straying fixed markers.
EDIT: see comments below - just download pavelk's mod instead For Seasons of Skyrim users experiencing misalignemnt (eg, game markers appearing slightly southeast from what's on the paper map):
For users which have marker misalignment issues with SoS installed. aljoxo as kind enough to make an investigation and found out, that installing SoS patches from FWMF FOMOD may not be enough if you have standalone maps for worldspaced affected by SoS. Here is an advised routine:
Run Lodgen and DynDOLOD with FWMF and patches disabled.
Load order should be LODs --> FWMF --> Synthesis (if relevant)
For maps that are in worldspaces where seasons occur (so really only relevant for Dayspring, Tamriel, and Solstheim), in the meshes\terrain\[worldspace] folder, made a copy of the .btr file and name them like: .AUT.btr, .SPR.btr, .SUM.btr, and .WIN.btr. Place those files specifically in your standalone maps /meshes/ folder.
To clarify, this is all I needed to get it working in MO2:
Right click the "Immersive Paper Map" mod in MO2 and Open in Explorer
Make four copies of meshes/terrain/tamriel/tamriel.32.0.0.btr and add them in the same folder, naming them as described. (For instance, meshes/terrain/tamriel.32.0.0.AUT.btr)
I relaunched skyrim and everything was aligned
(Of course, this assumes you also selected the Seasons of Skyrim patches when you installed FWMF through the FOMOD)
Oh cool. I didn't realize that could work for maps other than the unmarked version. Then I saw the comments on there saying it can work but you need to delete skyrim.dds. I installed it and it works great (and fixes some other misalignments I was seeing)
EDIT: Actually everything is still misaligned, just in another direction than before.
I'm using the Colorfull version and unfortunately the map is not aligned correctly. Am I doing something wrong? I will post my loading order here and also a video on YouTube showing the misalignment.

However, only FWMF + this map + Updates to various maps for FWMF for this map work perfectly, including Player Marker.

Edit: Why is there no full overview of the map? There are only close ups.
