CHANGE LOG 28.01.2022 - 1.7 - flagged as ESL. 07.01.2023 - removed objects leftovers, normilized background height, minor background change. 01.02.2023 - textures compressed to BC1, may increase performance slightly. Pay attention please, plugin name was changed. 1.8 - added UW and higher FOV support, upscaled map texture and background to 8K, added potential SoS support. SIze increased to 47Mb. 1.8.1 - compressed to BC1 (lossless).
Question - I'm using FWMF for the first time with these regional addons.
I've got everything loaded dead-last in the load order (both mods and plugins) I don't use LOD mods like DynDOLOD just so you are aware that isn't interfering.
For some reason, the Sovngarde map is being overwritten by the Blackreach map. I have the Sovngarde map and plugin loaded after the Blackreach ones, but when viewing map in Sovngarde, it shows Blackreach's map..
Any advice? Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Again, all of these are overwriting everything else in the LO.
I've checked archives for sovngarde and blackreach maps both, textures for maps are fine, links in meshes lead to proper textures. can you check what texture you see in ...\Sovngarde Paper Map for FWMF\textures\terrain\sovngarde\sovngarde.dds? any modern graphics viewer or editor should be able to open it.
It is the correct dds file, and MO2 doesn't show anything overwriting it (it's at the bottom of LO anyways though) The Blackreach map texture path is "textures\terrain\Blackreach\blackreach.dds" So in theory, they shouldn't be able to overlap at all right? Very odd
I've now also tested this on a minimal load order with only FWMF and the addons installed and nothing else. No matter what, the Sovngarde map doesn't appear. I've actually now confirmed in-game that opening the map in Sovngarde will just open the last-used map in-game. So if I previously opened the map in Skyrim then coc to Sovngarde, opening the map in Sovngarde shows the Skyrim map. If I go to Blackreach or Solstheim or Soul Cairn and open the map there before traveling to Sovngarde, same thing happens. I've confirmed it will even display different regions' maps in Sovngarde within the same play session if traveling between places. So as of yet, I've never been able to actually view the Sovngarde map in-game.
Really strange. Not blaming this mod at all, just unsure why on earth it wouldn't be working even with nothing else installed unless I truly have something borked on my end that is only affecting the Sovngarde map. Or unless it requires me to reach Sovngarde naturally rather than coc'ing to it.
I wish to help you but have no idea how. Only thing I can say, that's hardly a mod's issue. Otherwise I would hear it from other FWMF users at least few times.
I've got the same problem, only it replaces it with the last loaded map. First it did it with Blackreach, but after restarting the game and coming from Markarth (with the FWMF map) it showed the Markarth map instead. Currently trying to figure this out. (Using Vortex, custom rule to load FWMF and Sovngarde FWMF map after the rest)
Edit: Okay, the problem for me was that I wanted to test if the maps are actually working, so I coc'd to Sovngarde01, which is the interior cell of the Hall. Every time I opened the map it showed the map of the world space I teleported from last. Once I left the Hall to the actual Sovngarde world space it worked.
Judging by the OP's description it might've been the same problem.
I've mentioned it on FWMF sticky, there is no changes in all today's updates, I just had to remove 'Main Files' tag for Vortex. Sorry for inconveniences.
I believe I mentioned it in every FWMF mod description that maps should be dead last in LOs. that means any resources, LODs included. your LODs output should be installed as standalone mod (not just a folder in Overwrite) before FWMF in plugin list. in case of MO2, Overwrite should not contain any plugins or meshes.
I see. I'm using Vortex so I don't know about the Overwrite folder you're mentioning, but I didn't know that being last in the Plugin load order also meant overwriting other mods' files. Thanks for the clarification.
Converted for SE maps are actually available in the comments section here: Paper World Map for SSE - Warburg Hope those could be adapted for your FWMF framework.
there is no need to convert images (except compression), but they are made for very old chesko's design duncan used (sliced images that fit small skyrim meshes), so it takes time to gather, scale, calibrate textures and test markers. simple, but time consuming. I will upload wyrmstooth, but bruma and falskaar will pop up not so soon, after FV I suppose.
I did see that, liked the Dear Diary one. But it doesnt have the maps I need for DLC (Bruma, Wyrmstooth, Falksaar.. etc). But I believe its being worked on.. Really great job though
