    Locked
    Sticky
Guys, please, read the description, seriously :D
It's the first step to getting any mod working - reading about how it works ;)
Since the basic functionality is still often questioned here, even though it's explained there, here's a very brief, very simple step by step list on how to change someone's outfit. If you want to do more or if you have any issues, look at the description and if it's not covered by it, then I will be more than happy to help you with any bugs or issues in the comments :)

    1. Equip the ring
    2. Interact with an NPC and choose the 'Dress' option
    3. Give the NPC the desired items
    4. Close the interaction window (the NPC will equip the items automatically)
    5. Interact with the NPC again and choose the 'Lock' option so that they don't change their outfit on reload.
    6. Done :)

That's it :) I hope that this helps. You can do more with the ring, of course, but this is the very basic functionality that people seem to have issues with at times. For more details, I will again refer you to the... you guessed it, description ;)

Enjoy this awesome mod and thank you for all the endorsements :)
This mod definitely deserves it. (And I can say that because I didn't create it :D )

What did you just say about my mother?!
Jk, I know it's a compliment :D I'm glad you enjoy the mod.
But it is easier for everyone if you translate your posts ;) I don't speak Russian just like countless other Nexus users. It's not exactly relevant now, but when you ask questions in comments etc, you would make it much easier for people who want to ask the same to just see your questions and the answers to them.
      Enjoy the mod though :)

You shouldn't give NPCs the ring. Equip the ring on your character and interact with people. You will get the options.
Refer to the sticky on how to go about it exactly.

Your module does not seem to be compatible with the following mods :
    - Sleep Tight SE
    - Diziet's Player Home Bath Undressing for Skyrim SE

The NPCs sleep dressed if I chose the lock option and walk around places like baths dressed.
If I don't choose the lock option they become naked in a new cell or back in the one they left.
I constantly have to be behind to choose lock and unlock...

Yes, that's how the mods work. It's not an 'incompatibility' (you can use all these mods at the same time with no issues, if you know how to use them alongside each other), it's that you're telling two different mods to do the exact opposite with the NPC. What else could you expect?
The best thing to do is leave your followers and the ones you want to have a dynamic clothing system to the dynamic ones and use this mod when you actually want someone to keep wearing something without automatic changes. That's the point of either of the mods :) This mod is for manual customization that will keep s#*! that way, the other ones for dynamic clothes changing :)

I'm sorry, I didn't understand anything you said to me.
If you can't do anything on your side then it's a shame because until now I found your module very useful.
It bothers me too much to continue using it.

There is nothing to be done. It's not an incompatibility or a bug or an error. It's just that you're trying to use the mods to do two things that are the direct opposites of each other. If you don't want to lock someone's outfit so that they can change clothes, then don't lock it. Simple as that.
Use the mods with different NPCs and don't combine their functions like that, that's my advice. Or live with the constant locking and unlocking. I'm sorry if you can't understand what I'm saying, but I'm not sure how to make it clearer. The mods are working as intended, you're just expecting them to do something different than they are supposed to do.
Good thing that using this mod is optional, so you don't have to if it bothers you :)

Thank you for your kind comment :)
Sometimes it can get frustrating :D I'm always happy to answer questions or help with issues, but I don't understand why people feel the need to explain they might not wanna use the mod like it's a threat or something. Why would anyone care about that at all?
Oh well, thank you for the comment in any case and enjoy the mod :) :3

Is there a way to make this mod compatible with summoned Humanoid NPC's as well?

It would depend on the NPC, but in general, if the thing is not programmed to wear clothes, it won't wear clothes. The mod can only dress stuff that can be dressed, otherwise that would require changing the humanoid itself to make it compatible.

Seems (one of) the mannequin glitches extends to the NPCs affected by this mod.

I have the version of the glitch where just the chest pieces(dresses, shirts, outfits) unequip from the mannequins(though remain in their inventory) when reloading a cell. Helmets, gloves, and boots are unaffected.

The same thing happens to the NPCs I dress with this mod(and yes, I did lock them), although thankfully they revert to their default attire instead of being nude. This could SPID's fault, though I am not good enough at modding to know how or how to fix it.

SPID could be a possibility. It probably shouldn't be bypassing this mod though. What does come to mind is if you check whether the NPCs have more than 10 items when you give them what you want. You could be giving them the chest pieces as the last thing and they possibly unequip them becauase the 10 item limit doesn't work right. In that case, I would prepare a version that should fix it.
If that's not it, we can look into it more. Let me know what you find out :)

I pretty much want to know if you found a solution, because I'm having this exact bug. The chest piece is the only thing that reverts back to default everytime I change cells/reload game. I also have SPID.

Could you read my response above and provide the information about the 10 item limit?
I would like to help get to the bottom of this, but I can't when there's no other information that can tell me what's happening.

      Hi, Blackstar :)
This mod in particular should not affect mannequins (it just uses the same method for NPCs as the mods upping the limit for mannequins do), but there are some things you can try. First and formost, give a shot to this mod Mannequin Extended Limit. It should up the limit to 20 items, though the original limit should be 10 already, so it's odd that it doesn't keep 3 items. The ring will probably not work on a mannequin, so locking them with it might not do anything at all. Is the affected mannequin only vanilla or is it modded by some overhauls of the house? If you have any overhauls, look at the mannequin with More Informative Console and see if the .esp for the overhaul affects it. If so, I would recommend asking on the overhaul's page. If it's vanilla only, it's possible that it's bugged. You could try to reset it with a 'resurrect' console command (take out the items before you do it and then add them to the mannequin again) and if that doesn't work either, you could always delete it and replace it with a mannequin from a mod that lets you place them yourself. I personally use SPODUM mannequins (LE mod but works in SE too). You just need to markfordelete the platform under it after you place it if you use it on the upper floors.
I hope some of this helps you with the problem :)

Ring didnt spawn in my inventory so I did the "help "ring of fashion"" command and it didnt bring up the code, it brought up "viewer strings not available" and was saying I need a "filter" and "form type" so idk if I did it wrong cause I typed it as it was on the main page

Make sure you typed only quotation marks around the "ring of fashion" part.  There should be no quotation makrs or punctuation otherwise in the command.
Or use a mod like AddItem Menu to add it that way :)
If none of that works, it means that the mod is installed incorrectly (not your fault, sometimes direct downloads from Nexus don't transfer right to Vortex and possibly other managers). So just try to download the mod manually and reinstall  :)
      Hope this helps :)

    Fantastic mod.

Do you think in the future there could be a way to export a SPID based on the assigned outfit from the ring? Like if I used the ring to dress a character, then in ring menu or MCM "Export to _DISTR.ini"?

That would be next level amazing.

That would be so amazing :O It's a great idea.
I myself have no idea how that could be implemented, but Po3 might know how to do that, if they'd be willing to look into it. They're the ones really familiar with the inner workings of SPID.
It might actually work with other outfit managers too - just grab current outfits off the game and done. And not just for outfits. This would work with spells and items too. An export function is such a great idea - it would definitely be benefitial for everyone trying to change up their game to their liking :)
