This release addresses many missing features, bugs, and improvements. There's even weight slider support for all you thicc vampires. It's safe to update on existing saves, but there are some changes to be aware of:
There are now standard craftable armor sets with no bonus effects, and legendary versions that confer a bonus when all pieces are worn.
Any previously crafted armor will no longer receive the set bonus - only the legendary sets have the scripted effects. You must visit Volkihar Cathedral after confronting Harkon (the quest Kindred Judgment). There will be a chest behind the Molag Bal altar containing the Legendary Volkihar Knight armor (both heavy and light). If you've previously completed Kindred Judgement the chest will still appear. Legendary armor is unique, you only get one of each piece, they aren't craftable. They're still enchantable and can be upgraded at workbenches though.
Light armor is now included in the main plugin, so you no longer need a patch. If you had the light armor patch installed, your armor will change to heavy armor. You will have to craft the armor again, or get the legendary set from the chest.
Specific mod patches are no longer needed. I made changes to the Abysswalker effect so that it should now be compatible with all vampire overhauls.
Be sure to check out the changelog for a full list of changes.
For other mod authors, or anyone interested in digging through source files, the mod is now open source on GitHub. The repo contains all the source 3ds max files for the meshes, psds for the textures, and psc files for the scripts. I'll happily accept pull requests if anyone wants to make improvements. Going to have to learn how to remove the hood on the body armor I guess. I love this armor, but good god do I hate the fact that I'm wearing two hoods on my head and have another one on my back ><
Heyas! If you haven't already done it: you want Outfit Studio. You don't need any of the Bodyslide stuff; the Outfit Studio app lets you load up a game mesh and basically trim it like a hedge. Just snip off the shapes you don't want. I am in no way any kind of artist let alone 3d modeler and i used it customize stuff in FO4 all the time.
You'll need to be patient and look up exactly how to get it back into the game, it is not a one-button-export kinda thing, but it's not hard. Just takes some steps.
I've made a small ESL-flagged patch to change three things in this awesome mod: - Blanked out the DESC of all Legendary pieces so you can see what you're enchanting now and don't have to guess - Changed the Light variants (Legendary and Crafted) to use Glass Smithing instead of Ebony Smithing - Updated all Light recipes to swap out Ebony Ingot requirements for Refined Malachite instead
all other materials, requirements, effects, powers, and general badassery of the original mod are intact and untouched. So on your next playthrough you don't have to spend perks up the heavy smithing side to make your light armor ;) .....mostly i had to change the DESCs i am not smart enough to enchant blindly without screwing it up lol
you can open the mod in xedit and delete the cell settings, which will disable the chest added to the castle after defeating harkon. that way, it functionally removes the legendary versions of the armor pieces from the game. thats what i did at least
This armor is awesome, one of the best looking out ones out there for sure. I just wanna bring it to your attention that when using HDT-SMP patch, missing textures are shown on the upper-back legs area, as well as underneath the front bit of cloth near the belt-line. I assume this is because those areas weren't ever meant to be seen with the cloth parts covering them, but with the HDT-SMP patch, those cloths can now move around and out of the way, thus showing the missing textures. I was curious if there was an update planned to add textures to those areas to remove the missing spots?
