5.0 is now up. This version switches the mod to uses the new SE MCM Become a Bard as a master. Pevey's new update provides a great and stable SE format. You should install on a new save as the globals of the bard skill are changed and won't carry over. This update was done carefully so that the bard books were changed over without changing their positions or ids in the college to keep patches functional so your patches for the college cells should all still be good to go.
Due to feedback, the AIO patch 3.4 now includes all 9 original NPCs at the college. Although AIO does not touch all the NPC directly, this was made so modders can patch with NPC appearance overhauls easier. Galishai is providing a patch for users of high poly heads and Pandorable's appearance overhaul.

I enjoy this mod, but I have a question. Has there ever been a mod or patch to make this usable for the inns outside of Skyrim? For instance when using Bruma, or Falksaar, or Beyond Reach. Or custom inns added to skyrim?
I don't know if this will help others or not, but I had been having issues with the performance never finishing and the dialogue for "I'm done for now" never showing up after to collect coin & room. Furthermore, the entry for 'Bard Skill' in my journal was not increasing, which meant I could never take the Drum test with Malukah.
I got it to all work perfectly by keeping the same load order, but setting any scripts from Become a Bard to not be overwritten. To do this, just hide the script in the mod overwriting this one.
Now... on to see if I have other issues which need the script from the mods with hidden scripts.
Can you a little more specific? I have the exact same load order and can't pass the drum test. What script from what mod am i hiding? and how do I hide it?
Any script overwriting Become a Bard scripts from one of those other mods in the list should be hidden. This way the original Become a Bard script is used.
I’m currently playing on the XBox and have this mod along with Legacy of the Dragonborn downloaded. I seem to be running into the issue of not being able to play any of the instruments, an issue that has been noted on a few posts on Reddit. I reached out to WillOhTheWisp and she didn’t know of any issues but directed me to the discord taking care of Legacy on the console. After speaking with them, they also have no idea why the mods would be conflicting. I’m currently not running any other mod like Wearable Lanterns that has been known to conflict. Any idea what may be causing the issue? May there be a patch someday if there is an issue found? Thank you for the assistance!
Hello I am having an issue with this mod and maybe someone can help. When using LOOT it says that Bards Reborn needs a compatibility patch with RLO, & USSEP. When I downloaded the RLO patch Vortex says im missing masters like Bring out your Dead.esm, Dawnstar.esm, Dragon Bridge.esm, OblivionGates in Cities.esm ...etc Yet I dont use those mods. Will this cause an issue for not having those other mods?

It does not alter how that quest works if that's what you are asking. What this mod does is alter how the "Become a Bard" mod works, by requiring you to complete the "Tending the Flames" quest before you can actually start performing as a bard.
If you are asking whether my mod touches the quest record for Tending the Flames then the answer is YES, because I changed the language at the conclusion from... "I have been inducted into the Bard's College in Solitude." To... "I have been inducted into the Bard's College in Solitude. I am now able to perform music in Skyrim!"

Hi! Been loving this mod a lot! Though I've hit a bit of a conflict between this mod and, assuming as it's the only mod I use that add sewers, Skyrims Sewers 4. The trapdoor to the vault is located at the same spot as a trapdoor to the sewers are. You can get to the little side room where the trapdoors are, which then has two trapdoors located on top of eachother. But once you get into that side room you can not get out of it without using tcl. Recorded a video to more easily show the issue. :)
Hasn't actually caused a major issue for me atm, but figured it might be good to mention it anyway. Thanks again for an amazing quest. Only found it recently, but it has definitly become one of my standard mods now to always have in my game.
hi there i got a question about your AI overhaul patch, i see in your version 5 you got a vault key for viarmo but the Ai overhaul patch you got he doent have the key. is that gonna be a isssue should i add it in myself in SSEEDIT?
This mod is great. Really turns the Bard's College into an actual learning experience, rather than an instant initiation and a fetch quest. Some of these tests are actually challenging (more than a dungeon puzzle, less than a chemistry exam). And, on my second playthrough, I've yet to encounter a bug or even a conflict. For anyone looking for a bit more immersion in their playthrough, I can't recommend this enough.
