I was tired of my light armor oriented player character not using the Heavy Armor skill despite me using Auriel's Shield, which is heavy armor. So I threw together this quick mod and figured some other fella would want to have it too (so I uploaded it). If you have a shield that's classified as heavy armor, your heavy armor skill will increase when you block with it. If your shield is classified as light armor, then your light armor skill will increase.
Every successful block will give the player a fixed 50 experience points (which is about halfway between level 15 and 16) in the respective armor skill. You can change this by modifying a global variable with the following console command: set shieldIncArmorSkillAmt to # where # is the amount of experience you want to gain from each successful block.
