Something I would absolutely love to see is a patch between this work and the Dark Forests of Skyrim that replaces the dead trees in Dark Forests with your models. Dark Forests does a superb job with bizarre fungal plants and implementing an eerie atmosphere, but the models of the dead trees specifically are the mod's biggest weakness. I think tree mods have understandably surpassed the work done in Dark Forests, and the trees in that mod are too bright. As noted in the description, the maintainer is also unable to maintain the mod anymore or continue to develop it. You would be the perfect person to put together a patch to have it use your dead trees and make an absolutely fantastic crossover.

Hey, good mod, i´m very satisfied with it...except for one thing! Please help me to understand how to fix it.
I´m using JK´s Skyrim and I have met different snowy dead tree in Winterhold which were supposed to be covered with snow, but the result is similar to blank textures (not missing, in that case the object should be purple). Only the branches are normal.
I can take a screenshot if you wish, but maybe my description can be already useful.

EDIT - SOLVED - see my last message

Not sure what do you mean by blank. I have JK installed too and I don't see anything weird in Winterhold. Maybe conflicts with snow mod?

I have taken some picture so you can see what I mean
Unfortunately I couldn´t find any conflict for this ID with Xedit, maybe do you have some suggestion on what can produce this issue? For the rest of the landscape, your textures work fine

No idea. Do you have better dynamic snow installed? Maybe missing a patch with JK?
If Xedit is not showing conflicts, maybe it is the meshes or texture conflicts. Maybe try to reinstalled and see if anything is overwriting?

I have JK, BDS and I use RIS - Real Ice and Snow, if that helps.

Hey, I´m back after some time to Skyrim Se. Sure I´m using SFO, Arthmor Villages, JK,s Skyrim, NSUTR, BDS. The point is that only with this mod installed these damned dead trees become white, without it they look normal. I like your mod but this white dead trees hurt my eyes

Do you happen to have BDS v3+? It is currently incompatible with parallax meshes when a snow shader is applied on them (white/grey covering like your pic). If so, you need the previous version of BDS (2+), or not using parallax for now :/
Edit: Oops, didn't see the date of the post, nevermind ^^'

If you're using the newer version of BDS and can't use parallax, or you just are not using parallax:

      1. Get SSE NIF Optimizer.
      2. Run the meshes through that, checking off only the 'remove parallax' option.
      3. Delete the parallax textures from this mod (just the ones with the _p on them).

      It will fix that issue.

I have uninstalled BDS and tried with a new save,  nothing changed. With this mod the dead trees added by JK Skyrim in Winterhold are bugged

      EDIT:
it was a strange setting in JKs Skyrim. I have made a patch for anyone with the same issue

Umm...... I will check the files to see if I can find the problem.
May I know if you are using any other tree mods?

Edit: I deleted the problematic meshes. It should be fixed now.

wait i think my resource paths are jsut wrong lol
actually no, i am indeed missing v_knothole.dds and not sure where this comes from. i have bent pines 2 and it doesn't use that texture

the mesh from Bent Pines 2 looks great with the old grey bark from this mod though. think i'll just add the parallax shader to it and use that

So it works fine if one have Bent Pines 2 installed right? Should ppl overwirte the meshes in bent pines 2 with this?
I don't have that mod so I can't see it.

well this mod's bent pine mesh is missing textures so if you use them in any way the knots will be purple. so i would recommend people overwrite this with bent pines 2.

they could keep this mod's oldgreybark texture, but then the LOD texture will no longer match the full-detail texture, causing pop-in. so i personally just let bent pines 2 overwrite this in its entirety. i don't know what the issue is but you're definitely missing this v_knothole texture, or the texture paths in the mesh are messed up. they do look kinda messed up since the diffuse and normal have totally different paths

and no, having bent pines 2 doesn't make it work. bent pines 2 has a mesh with different texture paths and it provides all the required textures for THAT version. so bent pines 2 works fine but it doesn't solve the problem of missing textures in this mod's mesh. my guess is you converted an oldrim mod that itself required the original oldrim version of bent pines, which is no longer available (at least on the nexus)

I see. I will recommend people to overwrite if having bent pine 2 then.
      Thanks!

i found the missing texture by the way. it is indeed part of the original bent pines v1. you can still download it as an addon for oldrim SFO: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/141?tab=files
however the author says that it's outdated and that users should install bent pines 2
