    *DO NOT REMOVE (uninstall / disable / whatever) THIS MOD MID-GAME*.


    Due to the nature of Skyrim mods, especially those with scripts, some content will be permanently altered and will not be restored to their previous states. NPCs who were wearing armor from the mod will be 'naked', a situation that would be difficult, if not impossible, to correct.

    If IA was installed onto an existing save game then revert back to that save, otherwise start a new game after uninstalling.

    Removing the mod mid-game is the sole responsibility of the user.

    Immersive Armors Q & A.


    Q1 : Are there Special Edition CBBE or UNP patches ?

    A : The following patches are available :

    - Immersive Armors SSE CBBE Bodyslide by Jeir

    - Immersive Armors UUNP BHUNP compatibility SE Version by Royalgore

    - Immersive Armors NuttyFit UUNP replacer with Bodyslide (skimpy) by kagenutto.


    Q2 : Is there an SSE Survival Mode patch ?

    A: Refer to this patch page.


    Q3 : The game crashes when Immersive Armors is configuring.

    A #1 : Refer to the second sticky post or

    A #2: There's a conflict with the mod Rigmor of Bruma. Disable Rigmor, let IA configure then re-enable Rigmor.


    Q3a : The game crashes when starting.

    A : Ensure the mod is installed correctly and that there are no mod conflicts. Also ensure the correct version of the mod (either for Skyrim Special Edition or Skyrim Legendary Edition) is installed - they are *not* interchangeable.



    Q4 : If the cart goes flying/spinning during the introduction, try one of these options :

    Option 1 : Open the command console using the ~ key. This will pause the game but allow all the initial scripts to run. Once *all* the scripts have finished running hit the ~ key again to continue the cart ride.

    Option 2 : Install one of the following :
    - Prisoner cart fix SMIM 
    - Prisoner Cart Opening Fix SE & AE
    - WiZkiD Carriages

    Option 3 : Use an alternate start mod such as Live Another Life and let IA finish configuring before activating the start.

    Option 4 : Activate IA when the character is in the caves under Helgen (at the end of the caves after the NPC you're following - Hadvar or Ralof - has exited).

    Q5 : The 'Immersive Armors Configuration has Finished' message appears repeatedly.

    A : As noted in the FAQ, this may be due to a corrupt save. Try the script cleaner in Fallrim Tools.


    Q6 : Some armors aren't listed in the crafting menu.

    A : Most armor sets have requirements that must be met before they can be crafted - specific smithing perks taken or quests completed, for example. All requirements are listed in the Armor List text file included in the download, or click the DOCS link towards the top of the page.

    In addition, a number of armor sets have LIGHT and HEAVY - and some UNARMORED - versions. Some armor sets also come in different colors or have other variations. To reduce clutter in the crafting menu only one version of these armor sets will be listed at a time. To change the type to be crafted select the appropriate version in the Armor Type section of the Extra Options menu of the mod configuration.

    For example, either Dragonbone Ebonsteel (when set to 'Heavy') or Dragonscale Ebonsteel (light) will appear on the crafting menu - not both.

    Note : changing the Armor Type in Extra Options will only affect the crafting menu, not any armor that already exists in the game.


    Q7 : The shield painting rack doesn't appear at the Skyforge

    A : This occurs when using the Open Cities mod. A compatibility patch is available here. Note : an update may have broken this patch and it is currently set to Hidden.


    Q8 : The armors are invisible or show as purple blobs or don't appear in the game :

    A : Likely the mod is not installed correctly - try installing Immersive Armors manually :

    Extract these 4 files to your Data Folder:

    Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.bsa
    Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp
    Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.bsa
    Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp

    The load order after activating the two .esp files is :

    Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp
    Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp

    Note : LOOT and MO2 may put ArmorCompilation.esp first - if the game runs leave the load order as is.


    Q9 : the download files are corrupted.

    - use 7-Zip instead or WINRAR or WINZIP.
    - download manually or use a download utility such as Free Download Manager.


    Q10 : THE MOD ISN'T WORKING !!!!

    A1 : If the mod is installed mid game then armors won't appear
    - at vendors until those vendors restock
    - on existing NPCs until the cells those NPCs are in reset.

    A2 : if the 'mod configuration has finished message' doesn't appear and/or there isn't a separate 'Auxiliary Armors' listing at a forge then the mod is NOT installed correctly.

    Ensure that all required files have been installed and that the mod has been activated properly. Try a manual installation (refer to Q8) if the issue persists.

    Issues with a mod manager not installing the mod correctly should be posted on the forum of that particular mod manager.

    Boiled Chitin Plate: made from (2 Mudcrab Chitin & 2 Chaurus Eggs) or (Chaurus Chitin & Scaly Pholiota) at the Tanning Rack - If Boiled Chitin Armor Crafting is activated.

    Fur plate: made from any long furred animal pelt or hide at the Tanning Rack.

    Glacial Crystal Ingot: made from 4 Refined Moonstone & 1 Frost Salts at the Smelter - If Glacial Crystal Armor Crafting is activated

    ** Reporting a problem **

    When reporting an issue with the mod try and give *details* of the problem - simply posting "it doesn't work" provides no useful information.

    Skyrim VR users :

    Opening the configuration menu gives a black screen. At present there is no reported workaround.

    CTD when using a tanning rack : try moving Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp and Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp lower in the load order.

    Is there any way to remove/disable the automatic perk that lets armors be improved twice as much?
    I'm currently using Adamant, and I really like how it balances out, but I've discovered that the armors from this mod still have their improvements doubled, over anything that's not from this mod.
    I've tried to change the perks from a multiply value of 2 to 1 using xEdit, but that caused CTD on startup.  Putting them back to 2 made everything work again.  It's also worth noting that I barely know what I'm doing, especially when it comes to modifying ESPs.
    I'd really like to preserve the Immersive Armor experience, but balance is very important to me, and having the IA armors capable of 2x improvement over everything else is making them way too OP way to early (with Adamant).
    I'd like to keep IA and Adamant, and have my balance to.
    Any ideas on how I might make this happen?

      Thank you for the push in the right direction.
      I had previously tried this, but for some reason I am not able to craft any IM items.
      I think it has something to do with the CCOR patch, which for the life of me, I can't seem to locate.
      The main desc on the Immersive Armors Replacer reads that the CCOR patch has been removed from the main install file.
      However, the CCOR Patch link on the desc page takes me to CCOR, not to a patch.
      I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but am pretty stuck atm.
      I do have the CCOR/IA patch from kryptor, but still, no crafting.
      What do you think is my best move?

      The CCOR patch is archived - you could ask the mod author to make it available. I don't use any of those mods so can't offer specific advice

    I've noticed that since the big update 1.6.1130/70 in December of last year.  None of the armor distributions actually distribute any of the new armors anymore.

    Update:  In testing things upon updating I didn't realize that a lot of armors from IA won't be distributed when the player is still lvl 1.

    I can't seem to get this to work. I originally used MO to install it but when it didn't work, I removed it and manually installed it but it's still not working. Some of the NPC's have invisible torsos. If I deactivate the mod, their torso comes back but their armor is gone. I've tried going into creation in the main menu and changing the load order of the two .esps but it doesn't seem to stay when I start the game for some reason. How do I get this to work?!?!

      Invisible armor is caused by missing meshes - likely a mod conflict. Try moving IA lower down the load order, after any other armor mods.

    Hello. Is it safe to install this mod playing 1.6.1170?
    "Last updated 09 November 2016" scares me a little...
    Are there other, better and more modern armor/clothing/weapon replacers worth installing?

    I can't equip any of the helmets in this mod, for some reason. Using this (obviously), the Himbo and 3ba patches, and Immersive Equipment Displays. Also using various Nordwar armor/weapon replacers, of which there are zero conflicts with this mod. I suspected Equipment Displays was the culprit, but after rigorously testing what helmets I can/can't equip systematically, I am now suspecting this mod as the culprit, as I can equip ZERO from this mod... but I can equip all other pieces.

    Also, as an aside... the cloak thingy for the Hedge Knight Armor is ridiculously shiny. It wasn't like that before. Is that a me error, or was it something done intentionally?

    Whenever I put on the Brigand Plate Harness after crafting it, the game crashes. Suggestions?
    *Edit: Never mind, I reinstalled the mod and it works now. :P

    I've installed this and immersive weapons, ran loot and a bashed patch with Wrye Bash and I can't get either the new weapons or armors in game, I'm level 11 now and still nothing in the shops is new.

      Thanks, I've started a new game, checked a few stores nothing new yet, just gonna play more and hope they show up.
