Read carefully: are you using mods that alter the appearance of the trees, like Simply Bigger Trees? Then YES, you will get pop-in trees. You should know that ANY mod that alters tree meshes will bring incompatibility with ANY OTHER mod that re-gererates tree lod (as stated in most of those mods which alter tree meshes). Sorry for red color, but people keep coming here blaming me for an issue is mostly only of their own. I have to regret what I'm saying now, but all this could probably lead me to shut down permanently this mod in the future.
Since there are really too many (new and old) mods out there that alter tree meshes, and since there could be literally tons of different configurations, I can't be able to build patches for all them. What I suggest is downloading the billboards from those mods (usually their authors release them as optional files), get LODGen/xEdit, and build your own custom tree LOD by following the instructions on LODGen's page.
Version 2.0.0 of The Great Forest of Whiterun Hold is up!
It brings a new regenerated, clean LOD. Bad clipping tree LOD are gone. See the changelog for more details.
This mod is now esm-ized. This means that Whiterun Forest esp will be loaded before the esp mods which are not flagged as esm. I came to this conclusion because I found easier and safer having such an extensive mod like mine treated as an "esm" by the executable.
All compatibility patches are hosted HERE. Thanks cortex56!
And before you ask: NO, sorry but I won't make patches for any Creation Club content: first, because CC are paid mods and I'm releasing things for free; second, because to make patch I have to buy CC mods to release free patches for a mod I'm releasing for free. NONSENSE as you hopefully can understand. Since CC editors are nothing but former simple mod authors, please ask them if they could release patches for free mods.
Again, I love this mod SO MUCH I wouldn't want to play without it. My God what an immersive mod. I have literally played for days running around Rorikstead and hunting. It makes the landmass seem so much bigger too because you can't see that far.
My only problem is the cottage. Is there a version of the mod that doesn't have it? I need the patch for ETAC Rorikstead because the outside of the cottage is all floating in the air. Even the plants. The patch collection used to have it but it's been set to hidden. Having a version without the cottage would work, even though the cottage is great. It's really well done.
I swear this is a new rendition of a mod I used in LE. It had a variety of trees it put in a large area of the map too. It was a bit of a pain though, because the trees would hang over roads and I was always using Jaxonz Positioner to move them out of the way. I swear, I spent more time doing that than playing the game. This mod seems to have the same trees because Positioner shows they have the same numbers as before. This time, the trees are positioned so immersively. I have never really liked Rorikstead until now. It's incredible to play a Wild Child hunter and live in Rorikstead. You get so lost in Whiterun hold now that you could play for weeks and not know where you are. It makes the game seem way more massive.
Has anyone had trouble with some trees rendering really weird? I don't know the word for it, but it's like they are blurry not really there. Jaxonz can't select them so you can delete them and they seem to be missing textures or meshes or whatever. I'd really appreciate some advice on how to fix because some of these are growing out of homes in expanded towns and I can't fix it.
Thanks again to the mod author. What this mod does for immersion and enjoyment is extreme.
Cant currently get this to work. I'm using the latest Address Library with SKSE, I'm assuming its just the anniversary update that's still messing things up?
I used this back when Requiem was for Oldrim on SSE with the Arthmoor stuff and with tree and lod replacers for bigger trees, all the 3D stuff, added creatures and spawns and in tandem with another flora overhaul which surprisingly went well with the mod's default grass type. So its not really a big deal patching and generating new stuff.
Coming back after 7 years, this mod was and is worth all the effort or incompatibilities no matter what.
For anyone getting yellow trees in the distance with this mod who's scared of lod gen like I am, here's a fix that worked for me. Just drag n drop. There's probably better ways, but those ways require 40 min long tutorials and feck that. https://www.dropbox.com/s/37s2tq7ovtl58eh/TreeFix.7z?dl=0
Do like how it dramatically change the landscape... did fidn the patches helpfull too! Hoping more patches come out like for this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/57797 not sure if any patches are being made for this mod but a patch for those home would be nice ^^
For example, 20-30? Or much more? I'm also using 1K-2K textures, ENB and DyndoLOD. And I'm also want to know how critical it hit my memory with GPU. Thanks.
Cool mod, really like the forest. Unfortunately it conflicts with some location mods I have, and fighting dragons when theres trees everywhere you look is a HUGE hassle. Not sure if a version with less trees would help much but it could make it better.

No one who doesn't want to should have to suffer the laziness of the "Just use DyndoLOD" circle-jerk
