About this mod
This patch provides compatibility for the current Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch and integrates updates made to Skyrim Special Edition up to the current version 1.5.97 into Skyrim VR. The many fixes and changes that were added to the USSEP and SSE since early 2018 can be enjoyed in VR with this patch.

Because the patch merges recent changes to Skyrim SE into Skyrim VR, compatibility may also be improved for other mods that rely on those recent changes and were previously incompatible with Skyrim VR.
Core Mod Installation
- Exract the archive and run “Skyrim VR Patch Maker.exe”. If it doesn’t detect your Skyrim VR folder, copy the tool into the “Data” subfolder of your Skyrim VR folder and run it from there. The tool will create a mod archive called “Skyrim VR Core USSEP 4.2.1 and SSE 1.5.97 Compatibility.zip” in its current folder.
- Install the created archive as a regular mod in your mod manager such as Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex. It should be overriding 7 core game files in your Data folder, and 105 loose string files if you had them before. In MO2 make sure it is placed after the 3 DLCs.
- Of course you should also download the current Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch and install it normally. However the USSEP isn’t required for the game to still run as usual.
If for whatever reason you have modified (e.g. cleaned) your core game files, the tool will issue a warning first and not process those files. In this case, you have to re-download the original files (verify game integrity in Steam), then run the patch maker, and then re-apply whatever other modifications you want on top of the files inside the archive the tool created.
Because of the large number of changes introduced by using this patch and the current version of the USSEP I recommend backing up your save games for good measure and keeping multiple saves in your playthroughs.
Optional Mod Installation
You have the option of installing an additional compatibility mod in your regular mod manager, such as Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex. This is recommended if you extracted the BSA file of the USSEP into loose files, but unnecessary otherwise. In that case, load this mod after the USSEP in your mod manager. To my knowledge Skyrim VR loads its VR ESM master file after all other master files, and its VR BSA archive after all other BSA files, thus negating conflicting changes made by the USSEP. However, loose files still load after archives and can overwrite Skyrim VR scripts, which the mod addresses.
Language Support
English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish and Russian language supported.
Japanese and Chinese not supported
Compatibility with other mods
- All Skyrim VR mods and SKSEVR will continue to work normally unless specified otherwise.
- The mod SkyrimVR – USSEP Fixes from April 2018 could break the marriage and relationship portion of the game when used with this patch because it reverses some of the changes this patch makes. It will have no other effects because this patch includes everything that patch fixes.
- The mod SkyrimVR USSEP Compatibility Patch from April 2018 will reverse a fix to the Warmaster perk and one fix to an area, and will have no additional effects because this patch includes everything that patch fixes.
- The mod Skyrim VR USSEP Dwarven Ballista missing texture fix is recommended, compatible and not included in this patch.
- The mods Animal Tweaks, Complete Cooking and Alchemy Overhaul, Wintersun - Faiths of Skyrim and Better Descriptions SSE may have small compatibility issues with Skyrim VR fixed by loading/installing the included optional compatibility mod after them - not tested.
Uninstallation
To uninstall the patch, simply deactivate/remove the mod from your mod manager like any other mod.
