    Dear Community

after 16 years of fun and challenges I have decided to go into retirement. Being a member and contributor of this great community has been a lot of fun. But with 69 years of age I'm afraid that I'm not able to provide those contributions any more that some of you might expect. Thank you so much to those many modders and users I have worked together with during this time in order to stem exciting challenges. And my apologies to those I might have overreacted to in times of frustration.

All my mods, and in particular FNIS, FNIS SE, and FNIS Sources, are passed over to "The Care Taker", and are fully owned now by "Nexus Mods". And I will not be active any more in any of the Nexus threads, including those I have hosted for years.

Although the timing might imply, this decision was made weeks ago, and has nothing to do with the disastrous situation the whole world is facing now. But it is a clean cut for the coming days, months, and maybe years where I want to take care only for my family and myself.

I wish you and your beloved ones all the best.

I'm getting this too. Any help would be appreciated. Back to modding again, and I never had such a confusing issue with FNIS, in the 5 or so times ive done a modlist. Followed the gamer poets video in description, using MO2.

Install the FNIS Behavior Main File.
FNIS is run through Mod Organizer like most other tools. Add FNIS to the list of executables by doing the following:

      1. In the right pane, go to the Data tab.
      2. Locate the tools folder and expand it. Then expand the GenerateFNIS_for_Users folder.
      3. Right-click the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe file and select [Add as Executable]
      4. In the window that opens, type FNIS for the Title.
      5. Click [OK]
Now each time you want to run FNIS, simply select it from the drop-down menu at top right and click Run.

I ran into one of those errors too, after installing it properly. What I found that solved it: create an empty 'output mod' and select it in the FNIS executable options instead of going to overwrite folder. Also you might run into another one about 'debugdata.txt' or something. If you are on Windows 10, turn off 'real time protection' in your security settings (it is automatically on and will turn itself back on eventually) and then run FNIS again. The first change solved the first error for me, the second one solved the second I ran into.

i found a way to fix it instead of going to your mod manager files and runing fnis from there instead run it from skyrims main file. it should be in this folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users

    >>Warning: Generator not run from a legal (Steam) Skyrim installation directory. If you use SKSE, this can be fixed by starting Skyrim once through Steam.<<
I keep getting this warning. I did what it asked, didn't work. It always opens as admin, didn't work. Everything everyone told me it might be, didn't work.

Please oh please someone tell me or explain me what it is. I've tried setting up SSE for modding for like a week now, worked 3 work days for it. Repeated even from reinstalling steam like 5 times. I'm done with this unstoppable chain reaction of problems every step I make.

Just start once from steam and that message goes off

btw, this is the most annoying and unsolved annoying message on FNIS

Will this need an update for the new Skyrim SE version and SKSE update? I appreciate your work and want to continue utilizing this mod. I thank you.

Just FYI, not sure if anyone else had to do this but I was getting a compatibility error for the version of the Creature Pack that is on here, I had to manually convert it to SE compatibility for some reason.

    Hello everyone,

I suddenly get the ERROR(76): part of the path "D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\data\meshes\actors\character\behaviors\idlebehavior.hkx" failed not to be found.I did a bit of testing with reinstalling to see if the problem would be fixed.I noticed that this error only occurs when I have FNIS Creature Pack installed.I've never had this problem before.
What can be the reason that this error occurs and how can I fix it?

Errors numbered less than 2000 are generated by Windows, not FNIS (see the FAQ on the Description tab)
A lot of them are UAC or Windows Defender issues. Just above and to the right of fore's first sticky above is a blue button labeled FORUM THREAD. Clicking on that will take you to the NEXUS version of these Comments, where you will find a proper search function. Use it to search for "ERROR 76" (with quotation marks).
      Good luck!

As this mod is no longer supported, did you try with NEMESIS ?

From my experience, any mod saying it requires FNIS will also work flawlessly if you have Nemesis instead. Here is the process in case:
      1. Disable FNIS in your Mod Manager
      2. Download and install Nemesis with your mod manager
      3. Make an executable of Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine.exe in your mod manager. In Vortex, that would mean going to Dashboard/ scroll down to tools, Add Tool and look for Skyrim/ Data/ Nemesis_Engine/ Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine.exe
(It will create a shortcut on your mod manager interface)
      4. Run the newly created executable Nemesis from your mod manager
      5. in Nemesis, for a start, click update Engine, let it load
      6. Check the list of Mods to tick in Nemesis interface, tick the ones you have installed.
      7. After selecting what you have, click Launch Nemesis Behaviour Engine and let it load
      8. As far as i can tell, any mod related to Animation will work then, even they are not listed in Nemesis interface to tick, and it is at the present day actively supported and updated
      9. If you encounter any difficulties, you can find more tips in Nemesis Mod page in the comment section

      Hope you fix your problem

Don't see how Nemesis is an improvement if you have to install DLL files that is over 20 years old to get it to work correctly.

No that is probably windows UAC system.
It is recommended (required pretty much) that your steam directory and files for skyrim not be installed under C:\Program
It is very easy to have steam move those files to whatever drive and directory you want, before you do that just have vortex "purge links", move them, the re-deploy in vortex.
