after 16 years of fun and challenges I have decided to go into retirement. Being a member and contributor of this great community has been a lot of fun. But with 69 years of age I'm afraid that I'm not able to provide those contributions any more that some of you might expect. Thank you so much to those many modders and users I have worked together with during this time in order to stem exciting challenges. And my apologies to those I might have overreacted to in times of frustration.
All my mods, and in particular FNIS, FNIS SE, and FNIS Sources, are passed over to "The Care Taker", and are fully owned now by "Nexus Mods". And I will not be active any more in any of the Nexus threads, including those I have hosted for years.
Although the timing might imply, this decision was made weeks ago, and has nothing to do with the disastrous situation the whole world is facing now. But it is a clean cut for the coming days, months, and maybe years where I want to take care only for my family and myself.
Any recommendations to improve creature animations? I just installed FNIS and the creature pack but the description said the zoo mod wasn't available in VR. I just think the deer and other wildlife move in an awkward way, so any tips would be much appreciated!

Why do I need to start skyrim through steam to mod my game?
Ok, restarted my computer and now it's giving me this message:
FNIS Behavior V7.6 2/27/2021 2:22:39 PM Generator: D:\Games\Skyrim Special Edition\data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe >>Warning: Bad installation. I am using MO2 and it's set up correctly. I move my Skyrim game out of the Steam folder while modding it. I know that sounds odd but I have Steam auto-update and ruin my 400+ mod game one too many times. This has never been a problem before with FNIS.
Edit: The last time I modded Skyrim I did the same thing I am doing now but it worked just fine. Not sure what I am doing differently. Do I need to run Skyrim through Steam in a certain or with SKSE64 installed in the Steam Skyrim folder? Right now the instance of Skyrim in the Steam folder is vanilla with no mods.
How do I get FNIS to work outside of that location? Is this a MO2 issue? I just need the output folder to be the MO2 overwrite folder.
Edit: Hmm, nevermind I think its working its just giving me a warning message that means nothing. What can I do to prevent this from happening again? Is FNIS reading the registry or just checking for Skyrim to be installed in a certain location or what?
Hey folks, while using FNIS and M'rissi vortex tells me there are unresolved file conflicts. Its simple enough to load it before or after and then skip deploy and launch the game but its rather aggravating. Does anyone know how to fix that or have had similar issues. M'rissi is the only mod Ive had an issue with. Behaviors\0_master, and behaviors\1hm_behavior.
i'm experiencing the same issue, but when I set the Vortex path to D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users I get 'Error 2001 Application-defined or object-defined error.'. I don't know what else to do at this point
I've never figured out how to get Vortex to actually do it correctly either. I've checked and it is installed in the correct location but any time I try to run FNIS with Vortex I get this error no matter how many times I set Vortex to access it in the correct location it ALWAYS looks in Program Files (I never install games to Program Files). I bypass it by creating a shortcut directly to FNIS on my desktop and running that. It works perfectly and the game has no issues. *shrug*
And to mention, I did make the changes as indicated by the installation instructions of this mod, reinstalling a few times just to make sure I didn't make a mistake. It still gave this error but it installed correctly. I don't get it I just know it works if I just run FNIS directly.
Hmmm, why is it that I'm getting a warning for too many custom animations when I only have a total of 14056 with V7.6 XXL that is supposed to have room for 32000? Doesn't make sense to me!
I've just downloaded this mod as a requirement for other mods. Booted the game up to test and everything works fine... except for the fact that in first person, my char holds the bow off-screen and fires an arrow nowhere near my crosshair. I can't think of any other mod this relates to.
so this is a tool not a mod, read the description, make sure the fnis generator is in the right place and run it with needed patches. the description and video guides are an abundance just gotta do your research.
Can someone help me? im having animation issues where my character would t pose walk. I installed xp32, fnis and pretty combat animation. Ran fnis with skeleton arm fixed and such but i am still having no animation issue. Any help?
