Hello there! Virde AKA Faylen Sol here with another mod brought to you by yours truly and with special thanks to Stroti for creating the Spinning Wheel model I used in this mod and Oaristys for bringing the Cotton Wrap mesh/texture to Skyrim that was made by CD Project Red . So I bet you're wondering what this mod does, and boy oh boy will I tell you!

Spinning Wheels and Cotton Wraps does the following:

  • Changes Linen Wraps to Cotton Wraps (Item ID wasn't changed. All mods referencing Linen Wraps SHOULD work still.)
  • Adds Spinning Wheels to all of the major holds + Riverwood and Dragonbridge. I put them in obvious places.
  • Adds a recipe to craft the newly named Cotton Wraps (4 Tundra Cotton = 1 Cotton Wrap).
  • Reduces the weight of Cotton Wraps to from whatever absurd number it was to 0.5
  • Increases the value of Cotton Wraps to 15. That way you could make a non-gamebreaking living picking cotton and making Wraps.

So I bet you have some questions and I sure do have answers.

Questions and Answers
Q: Why Cotton Wraps?
A: Well, Linen is made of Flax. Do you see any Flax in Skyrim? I sure don't. There's Flax in ESO and Oblivion. That wasn't very immersive. But you know what Skyrim does have? Cotton.

Q: Why didn't you just add Flax to the game?
A: Didn't feel like it. This was far easier for me and made more sense without adding a whole new plant on top of the rest of the work I did (And it wasn't really all that much work tbh.)

Q: Who made the Spinning Wheel again?
A: That would be the ever so fantastic Stroti. They have made a variety of resources for modders to use so long as you credit them and don't charge people money for your mods.

Q: Who made the mesh/texture of the Cotton Wrap?
A: That would be CD Project Red and Oaristys brought it as a resource here to Skyrim.

Q: So outside the models did you do everything yourself?
A: No! DMan1629 helped me with cleaning the mod and resolving NifSkope issues I was having. They provided a wonderful helping hand.

Q: Who is Faylen Sol?
A: That is my normal online handle. Virde is my dead online name. I'm most known for being a Filthy Lucio One Trick on Overwatch and making Boop Montage videos.

Q: Have you made any other mods before?
A: Yes! One. Craftable Dragon Priest Masks. That mod lets you turn Light Armor priest masks into Heavy Armor and Vice Versa. or make them armor-less. Or make them invisible.

Q: Would you consider making a UNP or CBBE version of this mod.
A: It already is!

Q: Can I make a translated version or make a mod that uses this mod?
A: Absolutely. So long as you follow Strotis' rule of no making money. But I'd love to see an armor mod that adds their own type of cloth like Silk and a way to get the ingredients but uses the wheel to craft it just to stand out. Go for it! Be adventurous

Q: Where are the Spinning Wheels located exactly?
A: Each one is in a convenient location either near the central "Crafting Hub" of a hold or in a sensible location. Sometimes they will be outside of a clothing store (like Radiant Raiment) or outside a character's home. In the case of Morthol it is one of the few things that survived the house burning down.

  • Whiterun - Next to War-maiden's by the Smelter and the forge
  • Windhelm - In the market area near the Enchanting Table (Everywhere else was too crowded)
  • Winterhold - On the "porch" of one of the destroyed homes.
  • Morthal - On the porch of the burnt down house
  • Markarth - Near the tanning rack by the blacksmith
  • Falkreath - Next to the Forge
  • Riften - In the market next to Grelka's stall
  • Solitude - Outside of Radiant Raiment
  • Riverwood - On the balcony of the Riverwood traider
  • Dragon Bridge - On the porch of one of the npc houses (I forgot which one)
  • Dawnstar - By the forge
