INTRODUCTION
------------------------------

MIDSM is a modification of Improved Dragon Shouts Modified by Black714, which itself is a modification and port of Improved Dragon Shouts by Ozram with integration of Better Fire Wyrms by RockJB. Seeing as none of these users have been active in quite a while (6 months, 16 months, and 8 months from the time of writing this, in order of mention), and their mods haven't been updated for even longer, I thought I'd try my hand at fixing up one of my favourite mods. Changes include updating it to Form 44, removing ITM records, and just generally rebalancing several shouts.

Note: Unchanged values have no "after" number

Animal Allegiance

NOTE: The vanilla version of this shout doesn't actually affect trolls. If you'd like this feature, be sure to download the optional file which gives all trolls the ActorTypeAnimal keyword! Not compatible with any mods which directly affect trolls' stats.

Level 1: Radius: 75 ft -> 150 ft, Duration: 30 sec -> 120 sec, Max level: 20, Cooldown: 50 sec -> 30 sec
Level 2: Radius: 150 ft -> 300 ft, Duration: 45 sec -> 150 sec, Max level: 20 -> 30, Cooldown: 60 sec -> 50 sec
Level 3: Radius: 250 ft -> 500 ft, Duration: 60 sec -> 180 sec, Max level: 20 -> 40, Cooldown: 70 sec

A shout desperately in need of a buff. Greatly increased its duration, somewhat increased its level range, and slightly reduced its cooldown time.

Aura Whisper

Level 1: Radius: 500 ft, Duration: 10 sec, Cooldown: 30 sec -> 20 sec
Level 2: Radius: 500 ft, Duration: 20 sec -> 15 sec, Cooldown: 40 sec -> 25 sec
Level 3: Radius: 500 ft, Duration: 30 sec -> 20 sec, Cooldown: 50 sec -> 30 sec

Let's be honest, knowing where enemies are doesn't really help much in Skyrim. Slightly reduced duration but greatly reduced cooldown.

Battle Fury

Level 1: Ally swing speed: 1.3x -> 1.4x, Radius: 25 ft, Duration: 60 sec, Cooldown: 20 sec -> 15 sec
Level 2: Ally swing speed: 1.5x -> 1.7x, Radius: 25 ft, Duration: 120 sec -> 90 sec, Cooldown: 30 sec -> 20 sec
Level 3: Ally swing speed: 1.7x -> 2.0x, Radius: 25 ft, Duration: 180 sec -> 120 sec, Cooldown: 40 sec -> 25 sec

A unique shout limited by the few allies you have at any given time. Generous buffs across the board.

Become Ethereal

Level 1: Duration: 8 sec -> 10 sec, Cooldown: 20 sec
Level 2: Duration: 13 sec -> 15 sec, Cooldown: 30 sec
Level 3: Duration:, 18 sec -> 20 sec, Cooldown: 40 sec

A very powerful shout. Slight increase to duration for more skydiving fun.

Bend Will

Level 1: Cooldown: 10 sec
Level 2: Cooldown: 90 sec -> 60 sec
Level 3: Cooldown: 120 sec -> 90 sec

A great shout, but annoying if you miss. Reduced cooldown.

Call Dragon

Level 1: Cooldown: 5 sec
Level 2: Cooldown: 5 sec
Level 3: Cooldown: 300 sec -> 180 sec

Having a pet dragon is cool, but it's not worth no shouts for 5 whole minutes. Reduced cooldown.

Call of Valor

Level 1: Duration: 60 sec -> 180 sec, Cooldown: 180 sec -> 120 sec
Level 2: Duration: 60 sec -> 180 sec, Cooldown: 180 sec -> 120 sec
Level 3: Duration: 60 sec -> 180 sec, Cooldown: 180 sec -> 120 sec

Some heroes these three are - they can barely hold their own. Cooldown greatly decreased, duration massively increased, and their weapons have been changed to Dragonbone.

Clear Skies

No change needed.

Cyclone

Level 1: Damage: 50 -> 80, Radius: 15 ft, Cooldown: 30 sec
Level 2: Damage: 75 -> 160, Radius: 20 ft, Cooldown: 45 sec
Level 3: Damage: 100 -> 240, Radius: 25 ft, Cooldown: 60 sec

A ludicrously fun shout. I admit that this one might be a bit OP, but by the time you get the third word you're probably already a god. Increased damage.

Disarm

Level 1: Max level: 12 -> 15, Cooldown: 30 sec -> 15 sec
Level 2: Max level: 20 -> 30, Cooldown: 35 sec -> 20 sec
Level 3: Max level: 30 -> 45, Cooldown: 40 sec -> 25 sec

Mediocre shout regardless of how you balance it. Max level increased, and cooldown decreased.

Dismay

Level 1: Max level: 7 -> 15, Duration: 30 sec, Cooldown: 40 sec -> 20 sec
Level 2: Max level: 15 -> 30, Duration: 30 sec, Cooldown: 45 sec -> 30 sec
Level 3: Max level: 24 -> 45, Duration: 30 sec, Cooldown: 50 sec -> 40 sec

Again, mediocre regardless of how you balance it - having enemies run away is more annoying than having them attack you. Max level increased, and cooldown decreased.

Dragon Aspect

FUN FACT: The third word of this shout actually buffs a whole bunch of other shouts while it's active, making them 25% stronger and last 50% longer, even in vanilla!

Level 1: Duration: 300 sec, Power attack bonus: 25%, Armour bonus: 25 -> 50, Cooldown: 1 day
Level 2: Duration: 300 sec, Power attack bonus: 25%, Armour bonus: 100 -> 150, Fire resist: 25%, Frost Resist: 25%, Cooldown: 1 day
Level 3: Duration: 300 sec, Power attack bonus: 25%, Armour bonus: 100 -> 200, Fire resist: 25% -> 35%, Frost Resist: 25% -> 35%, Shock Resist: 35%, Shout cooldown reduction: 20%, Destruction spell magnitude: +35%, Destruction spell cost: -35%, Cooldown: 1 day

This shout is pretty good as it stands, but the extra armour is somewhat anemic. Buffed the armour bonus, added shock resist and increased the elemental resistances for the third word, added buffs to Destruction magnitude & cost so the shout is more useful to mages, and gave the Ancient Dragonborn that's summoned when you reach 50% health a Dragonbone Battleaxe.

Dragonrend

No change needed.

Drain Vitality

Level 1: Absorb Stamina: 6/sec, Absorb Magicka: 0/sec, Absorb Health: 0/sec, Duration: 30 sec, Cooldown: 30 sec
Level 2: Absorb Stamina: 8/sec, Absorb Magicka: 8/sec, Absorb Health: 0/sec, Duration: sec, Cooldown: 60 sec -> 50 sec
Level 3: Absorb Stamina: 10/sec, Absorb Magicka: 10/sec, Absorb Health: 10/sec, Duration: 30 sec, Cooldown: 90 sec -> 70 sec

This shout didn't actually drain attributes in vanilla, only damage them. This mod fixes that.

Elemental Fury

No change - this shout is already insanely good in vanilla.

Fire breath

Level 1: Damage: 50 instantly -> 120 over 6 sec, Cooldown: 30 sec
Level 2: Damage: 70 instantly -> 270 over 6 sec, Duration: 6 sec, Cooldown: 50 sec
Level 3: Damage: 90 instantly -> 450 over 6 sec, Duration: 6 sec, Cooldown: 100 sec -> 70 sec

Completely useless in vanilla, with a long cooldown as an insult. Massively increased damage, and slight cooldown reduction.

Frost breath

Level 1: Damage: 50 over 5 sec -> 50 instantly + 40 over 10 sec , Slow: 50% for 5 sec -> 50% for 10 sec, Cooldown: 30 sec
Level 2: Damage: 70 over 5 secs -> 100 instantly + 120 over 20 secs, Slow: 50% for 5 sec -> 60% for 15 sec, Cooldown: 50 sec
Level 3: Damage: 90 over 5 secs -> 140 instantly + 250 over 25 secs, Slow: 50% for 5 sec -> 70% for 20 sec, Cooldown: 100 sec -> 70 sec

Another useless vanilla shout with an obscene cooldown. Damage massively increased (not as much as Fire Breath), slow effect made stronger, and cooldown slightly reduced.

Ice Form

Level 1: Damage: 30 over 15 sec -> 60 over 15 sec, Freeze duration: 15 sec, Cooldown: 60 sec -> 45 sec
Level 2: Damage: 60 over 30 sec -> 150 over 30, Freeze duration: 30 sec, Cooldown: 90 sec -> 60 sec
Level 3: Damage: 120 over 60 sec -> 270 over 45, Freeze duration: 60 sec -> 45 sec, Cooldown: 120 sec -> 90sec

This shout looks more overpowered than it actually is, as hitting a frozen enemy will thaw them out. Increased damage and duration, and reduced cooldown time.

Kyne's Peace

NOTE: The vanilla version of this shout doesn't actually affect trolls. If you'd like this feature, be sure to download the optional file which gives all trolls the ActorTypeAnimal keyword! Not compatible with any mods which directly affect trolls' stats.

Level 1: Radius: 75 ft -> 120 ft, Duration: 60 sec -> 120 sec, Max level: 20, Cooldown: 40 sec -> 20 sec
Level 2: Radius: 150 ft -> 300 ft, Duration: 120 sec -> 150 sec, Max level: 20 -> 35, Cooldown: 50 sec -> 30 sec
Level 3: Radius: 250 ft -> 500 ft, Duration: 180 sec, Max level: 20 -> 50, Cooldown: 60 sec -> 40 sec

The vanilla version of this shout is just bad, and giving it a big buff won't change much seeing as animals are generally weak in Skyrim. Hugely increased radius, duration, and max level, and reduced cooldown.

Marked for Death

Level 1: Damage: 60 over 60 sec, Armour reduction: -25 for 60 sec -> -60 for 60 sec, Cooldown: 20 sec -> 30 sec
Level 2: Damage: 120 over 60 sec -> 180 over 90 sec, Armour reduction: -50 for 60 sec -> -120 for 90 sec, Cooldown: 30 sec -> 60 sec
Level 3: Damage: 180 over 60 sec -> 360 over 120 sec, Armour reduction: -75 for 60 sec -> -180 for 120 sec, Cooldown: 40 sec -> 90 sec

Once overpowered thanks to the stacking bug, now all but useless in vanilla. Big buff across the board, with a suitably fat cooldown timer.

Slow Time

Level 1: Slowdown: 70% -> 60%, Duration: 8 sec -> 10 sec, Cooldown: 30 sec
Level 2: Slowdown: 80% -> 75%, Duration: 12 sec -> 15 sec, Cooldown: 45 sec
Level 3: Slowdown: 90% -> 85%, Duration: 16 sec -> 20 sec, Cooldown: 60 sec

This shout is crazy good in vanilla, being an opposite to Elemental Fury. Slightly nerfed the time dilation, and increased the duration.

Soul Tear

Level 1: Damage: 0, Cooldown: 5 sec
Level 2: Damage: 0, Cooldown: 5 sec
Level 3: Damage: 300, Cooldown: 90 sec -> 60 sec

A powerful shout even in vanilla, albeit with an overly lengthy cooldown. Cooldown reduced.

Storm Call

Level 1: Thunderbolt damage: 40 -> 50 , Duration: 60 sec -> 120 sec, Cooldown: 300 sec -> 240 sec
Level 2: Thunderbolt damage: 60 -> 75, Duration: 120 sec -> 150 sec, Cooldown: 480 sec -> 300 sec
Level 3: Thunderbolt damage: 80 -> 100, Duration: 180 sec , Cooldown: 600 sec -> 360 sec

A stupendously powerful shout, with an obscene cooldown. Increased thunderbolt damage, increased duration, and reduced cooldown.

Summon Durnevhiir

Level 1: Duration: 0, Cooldown: 5
Level 2: Duration: 0, Cooldown: 5
Level 3: Duration: 0, Cooldown: 300 -> 180

A pretty cool shout, ruined by its overly long cooldown. Greatly reduced cooldown.

Throw Voice

No change needed.

Unrelenting Force

Level 1: Damage: 2 -> 10, Cooldown: 15 sec
Level 2: Damage: 5 -> 20, Cooldown: 20 sec
Level 3: Damage: 10 -> 50, Cooldown: 45 sec -> 30 sec

A classic. Increased the meagre damage, and slightly reduced the cooldown.

Whirlwind Sprint

Level 1: Cooldown: 20 sec -> 10 sec
Level 2: Cooldown: 25 sec -> 15 sec
Level 3: Cooldown: 30 sec -> 20 sec

An excellent utility shout, but not worth the cooldown. Reduced Cooldown.

No, the 0 damage bonus on the vanilla level 3 isn't a typo.

Level 2: Dismay chance: 0% -> 25%

Level 2: Ice form duration: 15 sec -> 10 sec
Level 3: Ice form duration: 15 sec -> 15 sec
