SSEEdit works well but isn't always perfect. Some people struggle to use it, and Quick Auto Clean can occasionally cause problems; I've seen it first hand.
Its best to ask the author if a mod is safe to be cleaned.
I've been modding Skyrim for many many years now, and the consensus amongst Youtubers and articles is the same: DO NOT USE xEdit because you may screw up your game even more. It ends up cleaning more than it should, then you can pretty much kiss your LO goodbye.
So, no, most people do not use SSEdit. Its not up to us players to do it, but modders instead, when delivering us the finished product.
If you have everything you want for LOTD installed, Reinstall the creator's companion mod, and then reinstall the LOTD patch collection. They've had a patch available for this mod and many others like JK's for quite some time
So simple yet adds so much to the look and feel of cities. Didn't notice any significant performance hits either, despite having a PC held together by hopes and dreams.
I highly suggest NOT using the OCS version of Beautiful Cities until someone fixes it. A lot of meshes have to be hand-culled from it, as it has duplicated a number of huge city meshes (like entire streets) and forces the game to render two copies of them (causing all kinds of z-flickering, among other issues.)
@Spawnblade: The mod Drake0713 is linking to is the JK compatible version of Beautiful Cities, not the original one. While the original had issues, the one that the above link leads to was thoroughly cleaned - by me. The Open Cities version on that page has none of the issues you mention. It does not include meshes, it does not edit meshes, and it does not duplicate a single object... it does not cause any 'z-flickering'.
You clearly have not followed the link, and you clearly have not reviewed any of the files on that mod page. I don't think you've even tried the original version, for that matter, because it didn't even support Open Cities.
And honestly, no one should even play Skyrim with OC installed. It's nice to check out once for that "oh cool" feeling, but not for actual game play.
glad you posted this. i found yours and installed it instead. i figure if its compatible with jk skyrim, which i dont even use, it has to be maximum compatibility with vanilla! plus no dirty edits!
Conflicts with J'Ks Whiterun. Patch impending? Shouldn't be too tough, I'm trying to work out a lot of bugs with my 170 mods I have installed. yeesh Here, it's hilarious that I'm saying this after someone said that it works wonderfully with JK's whiterun. To prove it doesn't, here are photos: Tree clips with signpost: https://i.imgur.com/a4Tu5OZ.jpg Tree clips with juniper berry tree by dragon's reach: https://i.imgur.com/E9BmySW.jpg Also the tree behind the bannered mare clips with the walkway gate but I don't have a photo.
Seriously don't even notice it unless I'm looking for it in those photos. Are you going to spend your game standing and looking at trees in cities? Because if not, it doesn't seem like a problem and you're making this mod sound like a disaster for JK for nothing.
For anyone who uses multiple landscape/vegetation mods, clipping is much par for the course. The issues described here are minor. Learn to use console to disable the items from your game or use Jaxonz positioner to move them.
This mod really is nice but boy are there trees place on wierd spots. In solitude one of the tree branches is just right in the blacksmith area. And the path below him the branch blocks it. Some trees are just place to look nice from one side. Just a shame its not beeing worked on anymore to fix those wierd placement of some trees in the cities.
I know this is late, but I believe he is using Blubbos Trees in Whiterun and maybe JK's Skyrim. It (Blubbos) does chunk a few fps down but looks great.

False positive or something to worry about?

Beautiful Cities seems to have better compatibility

I use a few more mods here and there to really liven the place up but this mod was the inspiration to go farther.
Thank you.
