Just reinstalled it, to be sure - works fine with AddItemMenu. Did your Mod Manager slap the data folder into the data folder or something like that? if you can see the esp and activate it as usual, the mod should do as intendet. But you may also try Manikzek's Invisible Armors Enhanced, which provides a lot more variety than this mod. (Don't tell anybody, but I use that one too. He did a mighty fine job with that .)
Should work like normal. I just send a character to Silent Moon Camp to test it. Got up in light armor from 15 to 18 in four minutes and heavy armor from 15 to 16 in less than one minute - wearing nothing but boots, cuirass, gloves and helmet of each set. It just takes longer when you reach high levels or have mods running that influence XP gain.
from a long time of use i do need to say for any others that want to try it SKYui keeps you from making it early on, you might have to use the AddItemMenu
You'll only see the helmets in craftingmenu. Equip them and you will see the rest. The balanced version only shows them after you get the Daedric or Dragon smithing perks.
Invisible Armors can be worn on top of almost anything else, they were secifically designed that way. So when your character wears iron stuff plus invisible stuff you will see the iron armor. There is no worn mesh assigned with the invisible armors, they just block one (mostly unused) armor-slot to get an armor value. So you should only see an "regular" armor if the character wears that one as "undergarment" - or another mod in your load order blocks the same armorslot.

Your mod have light and heavy versions of armor set. How about add "cloth" variant for "pure mage" ? With zero armor and 1(or less weight). Just for carry enchantments.... And no require blacksmith skill... Maybe use tanner stand...

I can't find anything about improving them anywhere, nor craft them. I have all the materials for Daedric items and nothing shows up. I can't see them in workbench either

I seem to have a problem with Wearable Lanterns. I cannot use the invisible boots at the same time as the lantern. I use the lantern on the front. Maybe they are using the same slot?
Slots are listed in the description - can't verify because I don't use Wearable Lanterns and don't know what they use; made my own Magelight-Rings (low, normal, Supernova). But you are probably right.

Wearable Lanterns uses slot 55, just had that problem pop up. I personally am going to change it to use the Bound armor slot, but if I were you, I would find out what the next best slot would be to use and change it to that so nothing else(including other mods) uses it.
Haven't had much luck myself in finding a list of total slots are in the game. I don't use any mods adding extra slots, as to avoid any potential problems if any.

But surely, you can always use AddItemMenu or Simple Mod Item Spawner to "conjure stuff".
So when your character wears iron stuff plus invisible stuff you will see the iron armor.
