If you're interested in my plans, ideas, or updates on my projects I will be posting on my Patreon page for now on. I just wanted a centralized platform to talk to people who were interested in what I am doing. All posts will become visible to non-Patrons after 3 days.
See the Changelog for update changes. And Seriously, hit the TRACK button up top.
Stamina Bug: It isn't a bug. You just decided to install the Enai Patch without bothering to read it's description. There is a "no Nomadic Heritage" version of this patch.
If you want Capped EZ's back since OMEGA now uses uncapped EZ's by default, use one of the Capped EZ Patches.
OBIS and SIC Patches: Note that some items such as "Ancient Dragon" armor, "Aged Glass", and "Dremora Masks" are intended to drop and have OMEGA edited stats. Check the stats before reporting items as many of these were edited to have less than Glass/Ebony values in order to keep them in the mods.
WACCF:MLU users - do NOT use the WACCF_BashedPatchLvlListFix.esp. Only use that esp if you're NOT using MLU.
Smashed Patches: When you make a Smashed Patch you need to use the Hammer icon (not the big green button) and set "MLU.esp" and "PrvtI_HeavyArmory.esp" (OMEGA Heavy Armory) to Force All instead of Smash All. Make sure everything has been added to "Smashed Patch". You can right click on esp's and add them to Smashed Patch (Smash All) if they are not added already.
Adding New Mods/Patches to OMEGA: Feel free to suggest and ask. Lock Overhaul, Armor Rating Redux, and KSDO2 only exist within OMEGA bc users brought these mods to my attention. So there is always a possibility I may decide to include and/or patch a suggestion. That said, I obviously will not include the majority of suggestions. Often times without comment. The reasons tend to be numerous and various, which makes it not always something I want to post about. But if you mention the mod here, I will 99% of the time go skim the Description page at the bare minimum.
I don't always respond to posts that tell me how much you guys love OMEGA when they don't also have questions/issues raised in them. Believe me, I read every one and appreciate the comments greatly.
If you like OMEGA please consider Endorsing it. To get on to the 1st page of Overhauls it needs 900+ Endorsements. :D
Suffer Well Brothers and Sisters... -Skeleton Jack
Given up is the wrong word. Dreading the overwhelming work necessary if I come back is better. The Lexy LOTD project introduced a lot of mods I really don't like in my game. They ruin the balance I worked so hard for with OMEGA in the first place. So to come back I have to first make sure I update everything (been a long time so that's daunting all on it's own figuring out which mods work in the most current version of SKSE... Then stripping out the mods I don't like and fixing all of the incompatibilities... Then getting current on all of the changes... That's a solid 2 weeks of just getting everything working and current before I look at OMEGA itself and what needs to be updated.
Especially coming back cold after being away for months. I'm rusty on a lot of stuff so I'd have to refresh myself as well. (That said, I honestly needed a break from modding and from Skyrim.)
All of that said, most of OMEGA was already done. The last big push was streamlining it all to make it easier to install and understand while adding in KYE. But KYE has released a UPF Patcher last I heard fixing that.
If I came back today. What would you want changed or added in for 2.0 out of curiosity?
Post is stickied for people to throw stuff in here. I'll come back to this in a few days and see what people have said and I'll respond then with an absolute black and white answer for everyone.
A great many of us love your OMEGA AIO, and I would hate to see it have a higher potential of being laid to rest for good, or for a very long time, due to unneeded pressure towards forcing yourself to have motivation to fix incompatibilities and to update everything else; I think modding—like every other hobby—is most enjoyable and best done when you have motivation, inspiration, and renewed passion for doing it.
I can't think of anything that could be changed or added to 2.0, since I am not too privy of combat and difficulty mods, but I'm currently satisfied with OMEGA AIO's current state—well, I suppose simply keeping it up-to-date with MorrowLoot Ultimate and Skyrim Revamped is all I would like.
All of that said, most of OMEGA was already done. The last big push was streamlining it all to make it easier to install and understand while adding in KYE. But KYE has released a UPF Patcher last I heard fixing that.
Out of curiosity, which I think coincides with my earlier statement, whenever the original mods receive updates—Skyrim Revamped and MorrowLoot Ultimate, will OMEGA AIO need to be updated to match whatever the original mods added or changed, or is OMEGA AIO its own unique overhaul that is an independent custom version of the originals?
I use OMEGA from the begining and I agree with Alicyl. Simply keeping it up-to-date with MorrowLoot Ultimate, Skyrim Revamped and other mods like ZIA. I use The Lexy LOTD project as a guide but I kept only some mods for a custom setup with OMEGA. I think is the best solution for a solid and balanced game. Sorry for my bad english.
I just want to echo the others, that's what I'd look for most. Because honestly what you've built with OMEGA is super solid, so just keeping it semi-updated with the "core" mods as many listed: SRCEO, MLU, ZIA, etc. I think Kyrptoper is planning to update WACCF + ACE at some point in the near future as well as well as finally getting Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade updated and ported to SSE. Any integration that may be needed with those would be great. I should mention she also ported Timing Is Everything to SSE which makes the Dragonborn and Dawngaurd delays in the CE not needed if one uses that.
And also anything that might pop up that you think would be a cool addition to OMEGA. Skyrim modding isn't at it's peak like in it's golden heyday but there are definitely folks still working on some amazing things. At this point, like I said, OMEGA feels great and pretty much complete so anything else incorporated might be "small" or less core to it. But you have a great vision that I think appeals to a lot so really just anything you think you'd add or change I'd love to see.
That said, like Alicyl mentioned, don't force yourself. You can ease yourself back in, but would advise doing only if the inspiration and motivation is there. Gotta have fun with it.
This is the mod that got me looking deep into the mechanics of combat and understanding why I found it underwhelming and never made it much past level 20. It really opened my eyes to a better way of making my game more enjoyable. So thank you for all of that work you've put into it. I would love for you to continue the mod.
One issue with this mod is probably the amount of work you have to put in keeping things up to date. I suggest you not provide so many options and instead keep the focus on the core mods (MLU, SR, WAACF, etc) and not worry about so many different options. Personally, I'm not worried so much about the number of plugins, I'm more worried about getting the functionality correct. Streamline your efforts, don't worry so much about different options, and make your life a bit easier. That's my suggestion.
I really want to make a setup around this mod, but I also don't know where to start, it's so confusing with all the mods being updated all the time... I tried Lexy's LOTD and also didn't like it, it's too much of a quantity over quality setup, too much stuff crammed together which makes balancing impossible.
Is it even possible to get a full working OMEGA setup today? Would SKSE be the biggest obstacle in doing that?
EDIT: As for your post about development, I'd recommend ditching Lexy's LOTD and starting from scratch (or rather, current OMEGA, or as much as you can get running from it these days). That sounds easier than trying to remove mods from Lexy and fixing the numerous things that will break when you do that.
as of now, i believe omega does exactly what its supposed to, i.e overhaul the combat and encounter zones system so that skyrim feels new even after 100 playthroughs. but I think that in your ambition of being all-inclusive, you are thinking about going beyond the scope of this mod. So my suggestion would be to focus on the very things that make OMEGA really good, the things that you yourself would want in your game, and double down on them, and cut off all the excess stuff.
P.S take your sweet time and dont burn out bro. we'll still be here
Jack i want to thank You for you hard work you did for me you were a great help. I don't want you to ever feel you have to create patches for me cos you don't we will create what patches we need. Personally I think OMEGA is fine as it it but that is me.
It also nice to see you have been streaming again sorry i have not been able to catch one the time difference make it difficult.
Seriously thou I don't want you stress about me and burn yourself out you do your thing and I will do mine.
Omega was among the highest quality playthroughs of skyrim that I have ever done in a modded playthrough. Having played dozens of 80+ hour playthroughs I was extremely impressed by the seamless experience that this quality integration mod provided for my game. I was consistently challenged all the way into the late game and loved the amount of work put into the omega encounter zones. I think in 2.0 it might be worth to just continue integration and robustify the cohesive elements such as encounter zones and enemy overhaul mod compatibility. I really look at omega as being strongest in the area of high quality enemy threat and its provides a refreshing challenge to an otherwise rather bland vanilla combat system that gets boring after a dozen or so hours (especially after having done a multitude of playthroughs).
Yes, OMEGA is one of the best mods for gameplay. Currently, I use a custom setup like this in order to simulate OMEGA MLU: - MLU mod as standelone (easier for updates) - OMEGA CORE SETUP (a Merge plugin with Weapon AF, Weapon AF Patch, MLU FIxes, Uncapped EZ, SImple Fixes and Mortal Enemies) If I want to update MLU orignal mod, I can go to the MLU main page. If I want to make some modifications, I can use OMEGA CORE SETUP, it's easier for updates and maintenance. But I understand that it's not exactly an "AIO" mod because MLU is not included.
EDIT: Weapon AF reduces the power of rare items like Daedric or Ebony weapons. So I removed this mod from my setup and I just keep OMEGA Weapon AF Patch because this patch doesn't edit rare weapons and the philosophy of MLU is: "Rare is better".
If you decide to look into this mod you should give a close look to the mod "Containers and Leveled Lists which does a better job than MLU in those areas.
So, TLDR, it took too long for the worm to turn and Classic WoW came out. Full stop, I'm diving deep into Classic WoW.
Do I still want to play Skyrim? Yes I do. The ridiculous fact is that I have 934 hrs played, not counting my old pre-SE version of Skyrim, spent hundreds of hours modding, and I have still not finished a slew of things in Skyrim such as the Dark Brotherhood or the Dragonborn expac (that was more due to Bugthesda errors from what I can tell). So one day I will be back. But for now, I'll have to say the mod is "finished" as much as it's going to be.
For those wondering, it was basically done. The v2.0 was all stream lining. Easier install interface, better explanations, etc... It was essentially to make OMEGA more user friendly. The improvements I made to MLU and all the patches I made were essentially done.
this mod is amazing!! all i wanted in my skyrim, balanced, without the op stuff. summersyt still too op for my taste tho and so is ordinator, but i think there is a patch out there that balances both - will have to search for them later. anyways, is this mod compatible with Know Your Enemy - Trait-based resistances and weaknesses aio? is it possible to add kye and throwing weapons? again, thank you for this mod.
I might have missed it in the description but does OMEGA contain any mods that might delay the beginning of quests like for example the dawnguard questline?
Does it work with YASH? Note that I didn't use the word compatible because I expect conflict. The question is if I can get the loot and encounter zones from this mod and the rest from YASH.
Having an issue here...installed the AIO, it apparently names itself mlu.esp. However Vortex is saying that mlu.esp is incompatible with WACCF. I get that Omega has the WACCF edits in it, but I have several OTHER mods that use WACCF and need it installed. I see your post about:
WACCF: MLU users - do NOT use the WACCF_BashedPatchLvlListFix.esp
I'm not using MLU, I'm using this instead. Can I just remove the WACCF_BashedPatchLvlListFix.esp and be fine?
Come on, it must've been a misunderstanding. It can happen once to everyone. Besides, your work is great, so please don't abandon us XD I was just about to post a question regarding the main quests and dlcs, when I read you're latest post... At least give me a bit of help before disappearing altogether
hello... want to know if it is still possible to use omega, because its so old now. Morrowloot has been updated this year. i cant decide what to use. i like the omega, but dont know if its still working. i am with the northern experience guide, but there is only the skyrem encounter zones.. in the LOTD Plus guide is omega. or maybe i can just use the updated versions of morrowloot ultimate, or skyrim revamped loot and encounter zones and put all the other mods that where mentioned in the description from omega around it. i cant decide what to do. :(

Oh, and making patches into EPLs where possible. Gotta save that load order space :P
