Updates: (Scroll down for mod description)
Update 9th June 2018:
Introducing a new colour: Purifying Gold! A subtle golden glow similar to the colour of restoration spells. Perfect for banishing evil! (and darkness) New images added at the end of the image page.

Also Introducing: Abyss Glow! A Turquoise/Aqua light inspired by the ghostly glow of the Falmer caves.

Version 2.1 Changes:
  • Candlelight duration increased to 150, less chance of having to recast constantly during combat!
  • Magelight duration increased to 120.
  • Light radius increased slightly for both spells
  • Sound effect for casting candlelight changed to something (I find) less annoying
  • Slight brightness increase
  • Colour and brightness changes to all versions except (FO) Fire orange. All have been adjusted to make them more functional (easier to see enemies and small details). Check the new images at the end of the image page to see the changes.

Added note: I have recently started using Webs S.E, I would highly recommend it as not only does it massively improve the vanilla webs, the modded webs don't have as much of a crazy glow when lit by magelight/candlelight.

Updated features 5th June 2018:
Modified the colour of the fire orange(FO) version to make it less intense. It will still light the same area but the colour wont be as bright, this will help to stop the light acting strangely with certain things (no more B R I G H T orange spider webs!) See the new images for more detail, the new images are at the end of the image page for some reason. I will be working on doing the same for the other versions too so check back soon for those. (Update: (EG) Eerie green, (MP) Mystic Purple and (HB) Hunters Blood have now been given the same treatment. Check the new images!)

Updated features 2nd June 2018:
Added new colour options!
Original version has now been renamed to Eerie Green (EG)
Fire Orange (FO) gives a warm orange glow
Daylight Blue (DB) gives a natural bright light with a blue tint
Mystic Purple (MP) gives a touch of mystery to your lighting with a deep purple tint
Hunters Blood (HB) gives your lighting a blood red tint, perfect for those who feed on the living

Check the images for screenshots of each!

Can't see where you're going in a dark dungeon?

Like shiny things?

You've come to the right place!

This mod aims to improve the functionality of both Magelight and Candlelight.

It was created for use with Dynamic Immersive Seriously Dark Dungeons - SSE but any mod that makes dungeons darker will also benefit from this adjustment.
(Not a requirement but I find most dungeons are too light to need candlelight or magelight with vanilla lighting)

Changes:

Magelight
Duration:  120 seconds up from 60 seconds.
Cost: Reduced to be the same as Candlelight (28 magicka for a level 1 character with no perks, vs the vanilla value of 112 magicka for a level 1 character with no perks)
Limit removed:  You can have an unlimited number of Magelights active.
Projectile moves slower: The travel speed of the Magelight has been reduced by roughly 5 times, meaning it slowly floats across the room until it sticks to something. It will light the area around it as it travels.

Candlelight
Duration:  150 seconds up from 60 seconds.

Changes to both spells:
Radius increased: Both spells light a bigger area, double that of vanilla. I didn't want to increase it too much otherwise it would ruin the effect of having a darker dungeon. I think I found a good balance betweeen enough lighting to be useful, but not so much that its like daylight.
Changed the colour: Added a bunch of new colour tints (See the updates section at the top of the page for more detail), I think they add more of an atmostpheric lighting than the original blue colour.

Installation:
NMM: Click download with NMM, then install the mod in NMM as with any other mod.
Manual: Download the zip, extract with 7zip or WinRar. Copy + paste the esp into your skyrim folder (The folder containing skyrim.exe).

Requirements:
None!
But I'd recommend using some kind of mod that makes dungeons darker, vanilla lighting makes candlelight and magelight pointless.
Mods I use to make dungeons/caves so dark and spoopy:
Simply Darker Interiors
Relighting Skyrim
Darker Interior Ambient Fog
Enhanced Lighting for ENB
ENB
I also use the darkest setting of Darker Nights to make the outside dark at night, it makes travelling at night much scarier when you can't see what is lurking in the dark. If you use candlelight you can see enough to follow a road and see what you're doing, but beyond the area your candlelight affects you can't see anything, just like a real night (if you go somewhere in the countryside with no light pollution it is D A R K).

Compatability:
Should work with anything that doesn't alter the candlelight or magelight spells. This mod only tweaks the settings of the magelight spell, the magiclight effect, the magelight projectile and the lighting effect emitted by magelight and candlelight.
