This mod was developed at 'The Cistern' discord server. DIAL has its own text channel, where I, along with other mod authors, will provide support and answer questions. You can also submit patch requests for DIAL on the server:
I will only provide a limited amount of support here
DIAL only affects interiors with windows. Luminosity affects the entire game so they could be a good combo for a vanilla+ setup. Just make sure DIAL loads last.
Hi, Great mod. I didn't pay attention to this before coming across this mod, now It is impossible to play without noticing it. However, I would like to make a request, can you please provide patches for individual the great cities and great villages mod? I don't have all of them install and the patch you provided is AIO.
All lighting mods will work with DIAL because it only affects ambient light, meaning the areas that aren't directly lit by light sources such as fires and candles. Mods like Placed Light and MLO that don't overuse fake light sources really emphasize DIAL's effect.
I was unaware of that mod but gamma will affect all lighting sources including fires, candles and other bulbs. It also does not affect color like DIAL does. It's like a cheap work around version of DIAL. Also it will be constantly running a script where DIAL only runs a script during cell loading to sync the custom interior weathers with the outside weathers.
I see. Thanks for the explanation! I'll try yours out if I prefer how it looks more. I don't have any fps issues indoor but performance might also be better based on how you implemented your updates.
One advantage of gamma is that it seems to be fully customizable where DIAL only has three provided brightness options. Also it doesn't need patches for mods that add new interior cells like DIAL does. DIAL is intended to simulate sun and moon lighting through windows. Gamma basically just dimms everything in all interiors.
Dynamic Gamma is simply using in game brightness slider - boosting or lowering it, based on your settings. However it will work everywhere. This mod while looking better, does it by editing CELLS records. This means if you want to have consistent experience, you will need hundred of patches like Lux does. Every new quest/lands/location/home mods will need patch. Basically anything that adds new interior location will need patch. I suppose if you're only playing vanilla then this mod works great, otherwise it's going to be too much hassle. Unless of course it doesn't bother you that during the night you enter 1 interior and it's going to be dark while other interior is going to be bright.
Lux also needs patches for vanilla cells where DIAL only needs patches for new cells. Though that could still be a lot of patches depending on your setup. The fomod automatically selects the patches you need so it's not like it's time consuming.
such a great great moody mod. vanilla felt so surreal.
for your interests:
i am using this with the great mod haze light and it works great, but other than the description claims haze light must load after dial, otherwise it will have problems with light switching and you got flickering lights and it crashes.
so i load dial and haze light after as absolute last in my load order and it works.

It is not compatible with this mod right?
no lighting mod – DIAL only – Lux only – Lux + DIAL, across five different times of day
same time under different lighting mod conditions
