Looks nice. Is this cave interior and exterior navmeshed? Does the cave have idle markers? If I mark this waterfall cave as a home, will my follower be able to navigate to it and relax in it? I am looking for a cosy little home for one of my followers who's an alchemist. Alchemist's Shack (near Falkreath) is too close to the road, and it's unprotected from the weather, but this waterfall cave seems unique and interesting. Love the crystal ambience you created here!

Thank you! Yes, the exterior near the waterfall is already navmeshed and the interior I navmeshed myself, so it is follower friendly. It has a few sitting markers. I'm pretty sure followers will be able to get to it if you mark it as their home, but I have not tried it myself. If you have issues let me know.

Thanks for your quick response and confirmation.

Using NFF mod, I was able to mark this waterfall cave as a home base, assign some followers to this new home base, and when I dismissed them, they easily found and went to this cave to stay there.

Although, there's not much for them to do in the cave, except sit around the fire or in various corners of the cave (and I love how you used some of the crystals and glowing mushrooms as idle markers for sitting!). I also noticed that player does not have a place to sit.

So I added some bedrolls, some planters, few crafting stations, a cooking pot, etc., so a couple of followers assigned to the cave, can do their daily tasks and live comfortably inside the cave.

      Of course!

I agree, for a home base it would be lacking in the idle markers department. But thank you for the compliment about the idle markers that I did add! I'm glad you were able to personalize it for your own game! I love hearing that! If you would like to share some pictures, I'd love to see what you've done with the place.

Thank you for the comment, I like hearing how others have incorporated this into their game and it makes me happy that my little cave addon is useful/liked by others.

I understand why you left the cave uncluttered, as it is perfect opportunity for players to customize it in the way they like.

Please review and appprove my uploaded screenshots.

      WATERFALL CAVE INTERIOR:
I've made the following additions inside the waterfall cave and set up a new camp (all done in-game, no CK or SSEdit work) comprising of:
          * Bedrolls within a tent, cookfire (little campfire with cooking pot cooked over hot stone), cookpot (a separate cookpot over a vertical stand): using Basic Camp Gear mod. I console disabledthe default campfire in the cave, as it was too big (setscale wasn't working on it) and I couldn't fit a cooking spit properly over it.
          * (Working) candle scone attached on a wall (just as an experiment; to add some light above the enchanting/alchemy stations), cooking spit (but removed it later) and a fur rug (draped over the sitting spot atop the little cliff so it's comfy) and a sunken/submerged treasure chest (dropped inside the cave's waterfall-fed pond - I lifted it from some dungeon; resetinventory console command helps to refill the chest so we can keep looting it every time we dive down into the pond, LOL): using Placeable Statics - Move Anything mod. This mod allows to: Just use a special (Select Furniture) spell to grab (almost) any static object from the game world, add it to a spell buffer, and cast the spell (Place Furniture) wherever you want to place the object. Note: Rug may be from Hearthfire. I fetched some of these items via the uber useful AddItemMenu mod.
          * Workbench, grinding stone, tanning rack, alchemy & enchanting stations: using Solars Portable Crafting mod. Forgot to add the anvil, but didn't want to clutter further. Might replace the cookpot with the anvil later. Didn't add a forge as it would be ridiculous inside the little cave. There was some mod that gave a mini forge & smelter, I'll have to dig it up.
      * For those of us who don't want to keep the camp very simple, I would recommend to add just a few bedrolls, a cookfire and maybe a rug.
      * Next plan : add some plant life inside the cave using Hearthfire and some mods. I wanted to place a Werewolf Statue into the pond, as I made the cave as a home for Warren the Werebear (a free Creation Club mod). However, he seems to have his default home hardcoded, so he leaves the cave when he is dismissed, even if I had set the waterfall cave as home base using NFF mod and assigned him to it. Other followers like Tauriel and Jenassa stay in the cave though if it was set as their home base and even if they are dismissed. They are also able to find and navigate through the waterfall into this cave and use the cave fully, if I dismiss them in the exterior world, so thanks for all your hard work for the navmeshes and idle markers! Please add some sit spots for the player too!

      WATERFALL EXTERIOR:
(Highly recommended to) Add the following outside the cave:
         *  Falkreath Overlook Farmhouse SE - beautifies and enlivens the entire area outside the waterfall like a zen garden and rural farm, and makes it all feel so surreal, natural and welcoming. Perfect way to set a pleasant mood, before climbing up the little rocky brook/stream and diving through the waterfall into the hidden cave!

Might sound silly but did you consider making it a once and clear location? It feels like it'd benefit from something being there that doesn't respawn after you clear it. For example a single bandit scout in hiding with an unsigned note.

Go scout Falkreath, see if it's worth a raid. Heard the guards are busy with a werewolf.

Or even just a skeleton with a copy of the mysterious note from the Dark Brotherhood for another unfortunate soul they took to a dark corner or that might have hid from them.

I like the idea of that! I'd have to look into how to do that because that is not something I have done/attempted before, but I'm all for learning new things.

Alternatively, if you know how to do it, and would like to, I fully support and encourage you to make any changes you'd like to the cave!

See my comment above. I got a werebear to live in the waterfall cave (Warren the Wearbear mod from CC, and NFF mod to mark the cave as a home base and assigned the werebear to that new home base)!

Creation Club gives a free mod called Warren the Werebear, so I assigned this Falkreath Waterfall Cave to him as his secret hidden home. The backstory I came up with is: Warren is a friend of Sinding (the werewolf), and he's hiding in the cave, waiting for an opportunity to spring his friend held captive in the Falkreath jail! Then the Dragonborn encounters Warren hiding in this waterfall cave when exploring the outskirts of Falkreath village. Warren seeks this stranger's help to go talk to the farmer Mathias and captive Sinding, to find out why and what happened to Sinding, and to help Sinding escape the jail!

Folks, for those of us trying out this Falkreath Waterfall Cave, I can say that it doesn't conflict with Falkreath overhaul mods, because it doesn't modify the waterfall exterior, except for adding an activator (entrance to the cave) inside the waterfall.

I strongly recommend to also get the Falkreath Overlook Farmhouse mod, as it beautifully spruces up the waterfall exteriors and adds a comfortable farmhouse near the waterfall. So this waterfall cave becomes like a hidden getaway cave near the farmhouse, and you can also use a teleportal mod to link the farmhouse basement and the cave! Both the waterfall exterior environment and waterfall interior cave become like magical wonderlands, thanks to both these nice mods!

Loadorder for these mods should be as follows (set a "load after" dependency between the mods, in Vortex or MO2, to be safe):
    Falkreath Overlook Farmhouse SE
    Falkreath Waterfall Cave

And now there should be a succubus inside. In fact, it should be her house.

Agreed! I always look if there's something tucked behind a waterfall, and am always a little sad when I don't find anything.
