About this mod

My personal method and xEdit scripts to get around Requiem for the Indifferent.esp’s master limit.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCRIONS ARE IN THE PDF INCLUDED WITH THE MAIN FILE

Requirements:
SSEEdit
Mod Organizer (Not explicitly required but it will be tedious without it.)

Functionality
The way this workaround functions is similar to the approach modders took back in the day to get around various zEdit patchers’ 255 plugin limit and involves running the Reqtificator three times with different plugins loaded. Specifically, the first run covers all NPCs, Leveled NPCs, and Races in your Load Order. The second handles Container and Door records. And the third involves Armor, Weapons, and Leveled Items. By selectively choosing what plugins to load each run based on record types, the Reqtificator has less potential masters it can assign. Thus, this method effectively bypasses the 254 master limit without having to merge plugins or excluding some from being patched entirely.

Two xEdit scripts are included and should be extracted into SSEEdit's "Edit Scripts" folder:

“0001_RFTI_MasterLimitWorkaround_Possible_Masters.pas” which Identifies the plugins needed to be enabled for the Reqtificator on different runs and outputs "plugins.txt" files for use with Mod Organizer profiles.

And “0002_RFTI_Edit_RFTI.pas” which will modify the generated “Requiem for the Indifferent.esp”s to not conflict with each other.

Follow the step-by-step instructions in the PDF included in the download to use the Master Limit Workaround method.

Additionally, I recommend not using the Reqtificator's "Open Encounter Zone" and "Merge Visuals" options to avoid potentially adding more masters. If interested in using these Reqtificator features, I recommend the Synthesis patchers SynCombatBoundaries and facefixer which have Identical functionality respectively, but have the plus side of generating a separate plugin. Just run those patchers after generating all the “Requiem for the Indifferent.esp”s in this workaround.

Final Note
This workaround will work for most set-ups but it is not a true fix to the limit. For instance, if you have over 254 plugins that all add new NPCs, then this method will not work for you. The best way to tell if it will work for you is to try the method. If the Reqtificator successfully generates Requiem for the Indifferent.esp all three times, then you are good to go!

In the future I may add functionality to my mod, Requiem - Auto NPC Patcher, to do much of what the Reqtificator does but through SkyPatcher and Base Object Swapper INIs rather than actual record edits which will truly bypass the master limit entirely. Keep an eye on that mod if interested. I have a lot of ideas on how exactly I would do it, but do not currently have the time to implement them hence why I am releasing this workaround instead for now. Feel free to ask if you want to know more/are interested in implementing them yourself.

On other Mod Managers
This is the personal method I use to get around Requiem for the Indifferent.esp’s master limit. It is set up for use with Mod Organizer as that is what I use. Specifically, it relies on MO's profile system as the xEdit scripts generate multiple "plugins.txt" for use in different profiles. Using the profile system avoids manually having to change your load order each time for the different Reqtificator runs. If not using MO, you can still use this workaround, but it will not be convenient. You will need to change your load order for each run of the Reqtificator to match the enabled plugins in each of the respective generated "plugins.txt" and then change it back to what it was originally afterwards.

Everything here is provided as-is. All code and methods used here are open-use so if you modify the scripts provided for more convenient use with a different mod manager, you have my permission to upload it as a separate mod or I can credit you and include it on this page if you would like.
