Is anyone else having trouble getting the MCM to show up? I can see it when I look through MenuMaid2 and see it can be checked on or off but when I mess with anything it makes the MCMs all have the wrong names. For Example one will say Lawbringer but then it'll actually by the MCM for Clockwork or something.

I'm just going to try the command since I get the messages from it when I switch races so it's presumably working.

The question is, will you be the first to figure out how to make magic effect meshes come off the eyeballs, like fire or particles?

That sounds like too much work, but a kittytail magic effect like that on the eyes would be crazy.

Just downloaded this mod and looking forward to trying it out. Thanks!

Unfortunately does not work with vampires. Even with the normal vampire face mod.

That is correct.  Unfortunately this mod is unsupported for vampires at this time, and is purposely designed to disable itself for vampires to prevent issues for the player.  Full details as to why have already been mentioned on the description page, under the "Other known issues" section.

That said, I do hope to resolve this issue in a future release.

Would it still be possible to release a version that doesn't disable itself with vampires? I read and understood the problem but through hours of messing around, I finally was able to prevent vampirism to force any overlay onto my vampire head, be it eye overlay or head(even during vampire lord transformation). I wonder if it would work on such a particular case but still, I am no professional. If you think it would still not work, then I shall patiently wait.

I use a mod where you're still able to use a human head while being a vampire. If possible, I'd love a version without the mod disabling itself.

      Hi safocada and Princenoctis47.

To be honest, I'm still not very confident my mod will work for your use cases, based on the various testing I've done with the mod for vampires already (which is what led me to design this mod to disable itself for vampires to begin with).  It generally doesn't matter if you've disabled overlays or use a human head, etc.  As long as the game sees that you're a "vampire", the game will force an overlay texture on the eyes (even if you've already disabled overlays in some way or another), which results in conflicts like what I already mentioned in the description page.  Overall, the results are not pretty...

With that being said, for now, I will work on a version 1.0.3 that will allow players to enable this for vampires, but via a MCM toggle.  The toggle will be set to off by default (and will come with a warning message when switching it on), but will also allow the ability to switch it on anytime to try at their own risk.

Keep eyes for another update on this when it comes around.

Hey guys.  Following up on this, but I have released a Combat Eyes 1.0.3, which includes the capabilities as described in my previous comment.  Keep in mind that this is NOT an official fix for vampire characters.  Just removes the limitation previously put in place for vampires characters, for you to try at your own risk.

Further details are in the "Description" page and "Changelog" documentation.

thanks for the upload. So you were basically right based on your testing.
Even after disabling any head/face overlay on my vampire chara in CK(or even using mods to prevent any face/eye changes for vampires), the eyes overlay do apply nicely but sheathing any weapons does not revert the eyes correctly to the normal eyes(the applied overlays from this mod sort of overlaps with the normal eyes after sheathing).
Throwing this out there for anyone obsessed with vampire gameplay like me and trying to get this mod to work the way I tried. Prob just wait for a potential work-around from the talented mod author

Have you tried the Tainted Blood mod? That's what I use and it lets me use a human form while still being a vampire. I just change my head part to vampire in racemenu and give my character fangs via racemenu. You can still use combat eyes this way while still being a vampire. So it is possible, just requires another mod to get it to work. Works fine for me in this case.

Ah I see, but I actually use mods like better vampires. I love the vampire playthrough to bite and feed or enthrall while still in human form. So for me it's kinda impossible but thanks anyway. I didnt think of this

Hello! Would I be correct in assuming you can have regular day-to-day eyes set to heterochromia ones and choose a "normal" pair for combat?

      Hi wickedface09

When you say "heterochromia ones", are you referring to Heterochromia Reborn - a Complete Eye Customization Overhaul ?  If so, then unfortunately you would not be correct in this assumption.  I actually left details specifically about this mod in the "Description" page already, under the "Incompatibility" section, but ultimately it is not advised to use these two mods together as you will otherwise experience eye-clipping.

Ah okay! I just wasn't sure if it was not compatible at all or that they won't work in combat. Thank you!

Edit: Apparently I'm brain dead, that's basically the same thing ðŸ˜«

My save won't load if I add this to the game. I'll get past the save loading screen but after that my screen will just stay black, and I have to alt f4 out of skyrim. If it helps I have quirk eyes installed.

      Hi Eucalyptus28

I can't think of anything in my mod code-wise, that would result in the issue that you're reporting.
Furthermore, assuming the mod you're referring to is Pocky's Quirk Eyes (heterochromia-reptile-unnaturals), I actually downloaded and tested the mod myself (on Combat Eyes v1.0.2), and found that it works fine for me.

Screenshot after successfully loading into the game with this mod is provided below.

This leads me to believe that what you're experiencing is due to some other unrelated issue on your end.  If you still need help with this, please file an issue under the "Bug" section of the mod, and I'll see if I can assist further.  Thanks

WOW this mod is amazing, I expected it to be a lot more unstable but it seems great! Do you think it would be possible to ESL flagged at any point? Thanks in advance

I wanted to know the same. The author has replied to this question just a bit further below and confirmed that it is sadly not possible. :(

Hey everyone.  First off, thank you guys for at least trying out my mod.  Its greatly appreciated.

That said, I just released a new version - Combat Eyes version 1.0.1 - which includes a fix from other bugs that were reported.   I am hoping this potentially resolves the issue that affected you guys here as well. If you wouldn't mind trying this again with the latest build, it would be appreciated.

If in case you still experience issues, please file a bug along with CTD logs, and I'll be happy to look into the issue further.  Thanks!

Hello, is it possible to make the eyes turn on only when using magic? I guess that would be more logical and make more sense.

Very nice mod! It would be cool if you could have eyes change when under the effect of night-eye as well.
