You may encounter issues while using Last Seed, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Last Seed is the main cause of the issue. It could be caused by a number of other things, including mod conflicts, load order issues or save bloat. Before posting about any issues you are experiencing, please follow the steps below to resolve the issue, or determine its source.
1. Have you examined the source files or ESP, and know what the source of the problem is?
Yes: Please post a detailed description of the problem and how it can be fixed.
No: Go to step 2.
2. Please read the FAQ on the mod page and try the solutions that are listed there.
Did one of those solutions fix the issue?
Yes: Great!
No: Go to step 3.
3. Have you changed the name of any of the files in Last Seed, Campfire or any other compatible mod? Or have you created a merge patch that contains any of these mods?
Yes: Renaming mod files will break compatibility and cause all sorts of other problems. Likewise, merging mod files that have dependencies or scripts associated with them will also create problems. You should revert these change or re-install the mods.
No: Go to step 4.
4. In your mod manager, completely remove Last Seed and any patches. Then download the latest versions of those files and reinstall them.
Did re-installing Last Seed fix the issue?
Yes: Great!
No: Go to step 5.
5. Try and replicate the issue on a clean savegame. To get a clean save, you can either start a new game, or you can download a clean save like these ones for LE or SE.
Can you replicate the issue on a clean save?
Yes: Go to step 6.
No: The issue must be with your savegame. You will either need to revert to a previous save before the issue occurred, or look into cleaning your save. If you would like to clean your save, I recommend using Fallrim Tools for SE or LE. Before cleaning your save, you should stop Last Seed from the MCM, remove it from your load order, and then make a new savegame. After that, you can follow the steps in this YouTube video to clean this newly-created save file (the video is for Fallout 4, but the process is the same for Skyrim). Once you have cleaned your savegame, you can re-enable Last Seed and continue playing as normal.
6. Deactivate all your mods and try and replicate the issue with only Last Seed and its required Masters enabled.
Can you still replicate the issue?
Yes: Please post a detailed description of the issue, including how you triggered the issue, the mod settings you are using and any errors from your Papyrus log. You should also mention that you completed the above steps in your comment.
No: The issue is due to a problem with your load order. There are two potential causes for this issue:
- Another mod is conflicting with Last Seed or Campfire. You can refer to this Reddit post for ways to identify and solve this sort of issue.
- There are too many script-heavy mods in your load order and you are suffering from script saturation. Please read the Tips for Improving Performance article for more information on how to solve this issue.
