If you're having animation, install, or other issues with my mod check out my other article A few fixed for common issues
Q: The archives don't download/are corrupted/can't be opened
A: The archives are in a .7z format you need an archive program (7zip, WinRar) that can open that format
Q: Does this work with Nemesis
A: Yes, most versions work without any need for patches, I think 2.1 and 2.2 don't work though, To get the first person animations from not T-posing Nemesis is required
Q: Why are my First person animations randomly t-posing
A: This is due to how Skyrim cache's animations, the way to fix this is by using Nemesis, reason why is due to a txt file, animationsetdatasinglefile.txt, this contains all animation names that are linked to every project (0_master, chicken, dragon etc) animations need to be inside here to prevent the actors playing the animations to T-pose when loading other game assets
FNIS and Nemesis overwrite this file each time you run a behaviour generation, FNIS only does 3rd person animations while Nemesis does both 3rd and first, so you'd have to use Nemesis to get around that issue
Q: What mods does your first person addon support
A: The non Nemesis version, supports the following: True Spear Combat, Skyrim Spear Mechanic, Archery Gameplay Overhaul, TK Dodge and Throwing weapons Lite
The Nemesis version, supports the following: True Spear Combat and Skyrim Spear Mechanic, as Nemesis allows you to merge behaviour edits and not be restricted to one mod
Q: What DAR slots do your weapons take up?
A: For first person
10 - Rapier
11 - Pikes
12 - Halberds
13 - QuarterStaffs
14 - Claw in Right hand 1hm in Left Hand
29 - Claw in Left hand
30 - Claws in both hand
A: For third person
10 - Rapier
11 - Pikes
12 - Halberds
13 - QuarterStaffs
14 - Claw in Right hand 1hm in Left Hand
16 - Maces
17 - Daggers in Right Hand
29 - Claw in Left hand
30 - Claws in both hand
Q: Are the mods your first person animations support a requirement?
A: No, there's no requirement for them but if you have them installed before you install Animated Armoury, the behaviour will apply the animations/behaviour changes these mods added them selves, The Nemesis patch only has SSM, TSC and Animated Armoury support built in, it doesn't have the other mods built in as they can all be done via Nemesis's patcher
Q: What's the install order for your mod plus the ones you support with your first person patch?
A: If you're not using the Nemesis version make sure all the other mods are installed first, overwriting where ever you can, then finally install Animated Armoury over all the others, again overwriting when asked
If you're using the Nemesis version the same still applies but you'll have to run Nemesis afterwards and tick Animated Armoury FPA in Nemesis's window
The overwrites are just the behaviour files being from each mod being over written, my non Nemesis version
Q: Will you add support for a mod in your first person animations
A: No, I wont be adding in support for any more mods and I wont be supporting the Non Nemesis version of my first person edits, reason for this, as Nemesis requires a patch to not have duplicate edits as other mods, so that the behaviour merging works, I started this and merged a ton of behaviour edits together before I even knew of Nemesis, Nemesis is an amazing tool that does what my first person edits do, but better and with more mods
Q: I don't like certain weapons can I download them separately
A: Download the Scripted Levelled list version then in the MCM menu you can turn weapons and features on and off
Q: Left hand Claws are held weird in first person/Sprinting with an SSM spear while having magic in the Left hand desyncs while in first person
A: Skyrim. There's no left hand weapon bone to control and rotating the left hand around didn't fix the issue, the magic desyncing when using a SSM spear is weird I dunna, has something to do with blends or some shit I couldn't find a fix for it
Q: My Mace and Dagger animations are resetting/not working when I equip them
A: Me being a galaxy brain didn't think of this until I was nearly done with the mace animations, this is due to having another mod installed that does something very similar to mine, (True spear combat, Skyrim spear mechanic, gun animation mod etc) you as an end user can fix this by making a compatibility patch that adds "NAR_Sig" keyword to maces and daggers
Q: The whip's chain animates strangely/NPC's whips randomly animate
A: This seems to be due to how Skyrim's animation triggers work on sub behaviour graphs, I've set up my whips to animate based on existing animation triggers that get sent when a Player/NPC performs an action, due to the nature of weapons in Skyrim I don't really have a non script heavy way of adding conditions and checks like Player's/NPC's for the when these events can be triggered
Q: My Daggers are still parrying even with the option turned off in the MCM menu
A: True spear combat is the issue, either remove the mod or remove the idle animations from the plug-in. TSC has duplicate Idle animations that enable daggers to parry, these idle animations are not hkx based animations they are a set of conditions linked to animation events/triggers, that are stored inside the plug-in that Bethesda decided to call idle animations, just to be confusing
Q: Why does my Whip in my left hand animate when I attack with the whip in my right hand
A: This is a restriction of sub behaviour graphs and held weapons not having a way to send events to just them, I've included dual wield variants of each whip, they have the prefix of dual in their names. You have to get them either via console commands or the add item menu mod. You only need to get one of these if you intend to dual wield two whips, if you simply want a whip in one hand and another weapon in your other, you don't need a dual variant
Q: Are your weapons effected by perks/Which perks do your weapons use
A: All my weapons benefit from vanilla and some modded perks
Rapiers get Sword perks
Pikes get Great sword Perks
Halberds get 2 Handed Axe Perks
Quarter Staffs get War hammer Perks
Claws get Dagger Perks
Whips get Mace Perks
I have a patch for Spear Skills and Perk Tree all my pole arms are supported
Q: Weapon's hit boxes don't match the weapon's attack
A: At the time of this FAQ (August 2019) this is unfortunately a limitation of Skyrim modding we haven't broke yet, it requires editing racial records as well as custom animation triggers, and most likely a ton of other stuff, FNIS doesn't support custom animation triggers, editing racial records is a giant mess due to so many mods doing the same thing and I'm sure there's lot of other steps I don't know. At the current time of this FAQ, the modding community does have a potential fix in the works for this
You can download Speed and Reach fixes to get around this issue
Q: Can I switch out animations/Where are your animations
A: They're stored loosely in your "Skyrim\Data\Meshes\actors\character\animations\NAR" folder, you're free to do what you want with them Check this article on what animations refer to what
Q: Any new weapon types coming/What weapon types are you working on?
A: Have no idea really, I don't have plans to but I may get motivation at some point in the future
Q: Why haven't you made Horseback animations/Are you going to make riding animations
A: I currently have no way of importing and or exporting synced/paired animations so I can't make them even if I wanted to
Q: Can I modify your mod/Can I use you're animations/Can I use your models/ General Permission stuffs
A: You're free to do what you want with my mod, use anything you want, no need to ask just give us some credit, Please don't make me a manager/author of your mod though please
Q: Can I make a translation
A: Of course you can, I'd really appreciate it! If you do make one send me a PM over the Nexus, if I'm still around I'll link it up in my mods description and comments
Q: Xbox version?
A: Some dude ported my mod without my permission but I think it got taken down as the galaxy brain put porn or something in the download, I'm sure someone else will port it without my permission so if you have a look around you may find it on the Xbox mod site thingy
