About this mod

A village expansion for the Skaal Village on Solstheim.

Permissions and credits
This mod is my attempt to improve the Skaal Village, with the emphasis being on utility over aesthetics (which isn't to say that I don't try to make it look good, just that I focus on adding things which serve a purpose).


  • Decorative main gate
  • Stockades around north and south entrances
  • A basement beneath the Greathall with a brewery, guard quarters, and a jail
  • 3 guards (2 patrolling outside, 1 guarding the jail)
  • An observation platform behind the Greathall
  • Two new buildings:
    • A house with two new NPCs (a mother and son)
    • A hunting lodge (which can be used as a player home)
  • Slightly expanded farmyard behind Oslaf's house
  • A small snowberry garden by the main gate
  • A new cave, Rimhull, is accessible via the well in the village center.
    • In related news, a unique item from Morrowind makes a return appearance.
  • All new NPCs have full daily schedules and are flagged as protected so they won’t die to random dragons attacks.
  • Raised landscape under several houses that had floating corners
  • Relevant Unofficial Patch edits have been forwarded
  • Cleaned with TES5Edit

Optional 'Compatibility Version'

I've uploaded an optional 'Compatibility Version' for those wishing to use some of the unique features of my mod with the architectural changes made by other Skaal Village expansions. This version contains only the guards and prison system, the Greathall basement, and the Rimhull cave.


I recommend using a mod manager, such as Mod Organizer or Nexus Mod Manager. If you want to install manually, just extract the contents of the archive into your Skyrim data folder. This mod is safe to install mid-playthrough; just make sure you save somewhere away from the Skaal Village before loading it up for the first time.

I recommend using DynDOLOD to ensure that all structures display properly when viewed from far away.


This mod will generally be incompatible with mods that edit the Skaal Village and its immediate surroundings.

Immersive Patrols, which adds Skaal hunter patrols as well as Reikling and Reaver attacks, is fully compatible and works quite well with the new walls and guards.

Permissions & Credits

Anyone is welcome to release compatibility patches and translations into languages other than English (no need to contact me beforehand), as long as you properly credit me.
