    TROUBLESHOOTING

    v1.60-1.602 Changelog

    Question: How can I create a patch for iNeed?
    Answer: You will need to add the new foods/drinks to the formlists in iNeed.esp using TES5Edit or the CK.

    DrinkList = alcohol
    DrinkNoAlcList = non-alcoholic drinks
    HeavyList/MedList/LightList = food that will provide a high/medium/low amount of satiation (e.g. horse haunch/chicken/apple)
    SoupList = food that will provide a medium amount of satiation and slight hydration (e.g. beef stew)
    NoSpoilList = food that will not spoil (e.g. jerky), must still be added to heavy/medium/low list
    RawList = raw food
    HorseList = food for your horse, must still be added to heavy/medium/low list if fit for human consumption
    WaterList = reserved for waterskins (you shouldn't be adding anything to this one).

    Don't want to create a patch? As of 1.50, you can "patch" unrecognized food items in-game upon consumption of the item provided that it has the VendorItemFood keyword.

    Works well. Provides a moderate level of immersion my game was missing without killing me from starvation, and gives me a reason to actually use all this Campfire stuff.

    One tiny issue I ran into was the visible waterskins. The first time you make or buy one, it shows up fine and looks great. As soon as you remove your torso armor, it goes away and never comes back. I've tried dropping the bota, changing cells, re-equipping the old curiass, waiting, buying/making new ones, cycling the MCM setting, to no avail. Anyone got an idea how to get my waterskin back?

    Hi, I need help. I hit a massive CTD that I had to disable all my mods and start a new autosave. I enabled my mods again, this time without the CTD but iNeed no longer works. It says it requires SKSE (I dont use SKSE) and I'm permanently well-hydrated and sated. I no longer get fatigue nor diseases. I cant even refill my waterskins on taverns. I tested the drinks, got drunk and waited 24 hours, still inebriated.

    Any way to fix this without resolving into SKSE? Upper left screen informs me SKSE version is missing. I dont use SKSE. Thanks.

      No. Use SKSE in order to keep scripts running.
      Or uninstall iNeed, clear save from remaning scripts and play without iNeed. I don't know if there are any needs mods that does not require SKSE.

      Why don't you want to use SKSE?

      The exact same thing happened to me and I do use SKSE. The mod is permanently broken now.

      You do realize that these "it works for me" comments help absolutely no one, right? Especially when you don't even know WHY it works or doesn't. You could even be lying for all I know, you seem to be the only one who has no problems at all. Most of the bugs that have been listed so far are easily verifiable and reproduceable. The CTDs are especially heinous because those can be avoided with proper coding.

      Don't use it. Clearly modding skyrim is not for you if you can't read, can't install one mod nor do proper issue finding route.
      I am confirming you that this mod works so it means that there is an issue on your end and you need to fix it.

    Wait, the mod has to reinitialize the menu every time you load a game?? And then you have to redo all the configurations all over again? What the hell kind of s*** is that? Not only but the status key shows two different statuses for me instead of one. Did nobody test this crap??

      Download FISS to save configuration for new games.
      Every mod configuration is saved in your save. If your resets upon loading saved game your game is broken. Reinstall mods and read a little how to intall mods correctly before you write angry posts. Here on nexus are at least two very good guides how to mod skyrim.

      2. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74427/

      Isoku is one of the best modders here and this mod is working almost flawlessly.

      This is the only mod that's ever given me problems, even after reinstalling. There are a hundred other bugs right now that are unresolved because the author has given up on this mod years ago. Also if it only works under very specific conditions, that is not "working almost flawlessly." That's called unstable and brittle. The links you posted do nothing to help address the problem, or any of the others that keep coming up. Every time I run this mod there's a different problem. The innkeepers stopped offering to refill water now, and many other people have this issue too.

      Then i can't help you. I have right now 1107 mods with over 350 merged esp files. My game is at it's limit and this mod is working as intended. Settings are saved. Innkeepers refill water. Waterskins refill in water. Can drink from well/rivers. Icons are working. Status is updating each time i eat. Menu pops up each time i use new types of food or drink and mod remembers food that was configurated in particular gameplay.

    Won't work. It stays "Well Sated" for all three conditions, although followers do get hungry and thirsty, now they no longer consume any food. There is also no option for the innkeeper to refill the canteen. Reinstalling the mod did not change anything, it just made it worse. No endorsement.

    I love this mod so much. The widgets make it so user friendly. And I really love the options. It's probably a far-flung dream that it would ever get updated at this point. But if it did, or someone was able to make a version, I would die for a more immersive, and harder iNeeds. I think it would be amazing to make it more like old school Necessities of Morrowind, with much greater penalties. For instance, if you are in the yellow for food, you would lose 25% of your carrying capacity, and all physical skills, including crafting, and health regen. 50% if red and no health regen. If you are at yellow for thirst, increase time for shout recovery by 200%, and decrease Speechcraft, and all magic casting by 50%. And to magicka regen. 500%/100% when red (I mean, if you're that thirsty, you aren't going to be doing much talking, casting or shouting right?) And no magicka regen. Yellow fatigue could be 50% loss of stamina, speed and nerf to all skills. Red- 75%, with the added effect of not being able to jump or sprint. Also it would be amazing if it could be scripted to where you will randomly pass out for a minute or so, and potentially fall a lot like you're drunk.

    Anyways it's just a dream of mine but I think it would greatly add to the immersion. Especially if you added a varying blinding affect for the different levels. Then you would actually FEEL the negative effects, instead of just getting a slight nerf to skills.

      That sounds hardcore:) Maybe a little too much. Especially when you have option to remove any food outdoors and indoors so you need to hunt or buy it and spoilage system and dangerous dieseses!
      Also with mods like: frostfall + campfire, bathing in skyrim, wildcat for combat + vigor for injures + mortal enemies for movement restrictions while fighting + requiem/skytweak to set high damage + skysouls for slowed time in inventory instead of stopped time == pretty hardcore. Especially with requiem as it make game even more hardcore classic rpg like(i love deleveled world and every action takes tons of stamina, at low lvl you swing weapon 4-5 times and you are done). At low levels i need to plan every adventure if i have enough food and water, if i have wood chopped for fire. If my armor is warm enough:P If i have camp to sleep.
      Also mod loot and degradation for... weapon and armor degradation and breaking system!

      I have most of those mods. But I still would die for a harder, more immersive iNeeds. I set it to remove all food as well. And spoil the food really fast. It's still not enough. I always have plenty. But it's just not immersive to me. You never feel the effects, other than a nerf to your skills. And I start off in Winterhold, in nothing but rags. So I'm freezing, starving and dehydrating. It takes awhile to get set up with the essentials. But once you do- it's much too easy for my taste. I've restarted like 10 times now because by the time I'm level 2, I feel things are too easy. Even with Immersive Creatures spawning Blood hybrid cultists and Rieklings everywhere. So an option would be good to choose the original easy version. Or the hardcore version I would love. And with the added blinding effects, falling down, fainting, and other animations- it would just add to the immersion so much. Because even if you are in the red for all needs, and haven't slept in a week- you can still run, jump, sprint and carry on like normal. Albeit, at a reduced capacity. That is unimmersive for me.

      Edit: Oh also, I set the hunger and thirst to 7 for both me and my follower. And I adjust Hunterborn's yield to 5%. That gives you about 2 pieces of meat per animal.

      I didn't really like Requiem. I like Ordinator and Twili's Unarmored Perk too much. But I can still hope that someone might be able to add a version/patch to iNeeds. It has such potential to be REALLY immersive. Have you played with the Diseased System Overhaul? That is pretty great. And it adds in actual effects to the character that has them spasming, dropping weapons, getting paralyzed, falling down, visual distortions, etc. So awesome. That is where I could see iNeeds involving into. A truly immersive mod that affects the character with more than nerfed skills that are easily corrected with just 7 hours of sleep (no matter how long you were awake), 3 bites of meat (no matter how starved you were), and 2 drinks of water (no matter how long you went without drinking).

    The "Raw Venison (Elk)" meat from "Realistic Wildlife Loot" seems to be not affected by iNeed's option "Remove Salt Requirement" for cooking raw meat.
    I've checked the option, and I can cook all other raw meats without salt, except for elk venison.

    Any chance the author updates this otherwise wonderful mod?

    Edit: I'm not sure...might be on my end. Does anyone else experience issues with salt requirements?

      I usually let LOOT handle it. But I'll try putting iNEED to the bottom and see if that changes anything.

    So I was experiencing an issue that whenever I saved (quick, auto, or manual, didn't matter) in interior spaces (houses, dungeons, etc.) in the Rift, I would CTD, and it turns out removing iNeed fixed it. I'm not sure if this was incompatibility with something else or if the mod simply causes that issue on it's own, but I thought I'd bring attention to the issue.

    Does anyone have any idea why food spoilage makes cheese wedges go invisible in my inventory after I eat a cheese wheel? Only the cheese wheels cause this. Once I break the cheese wheel, the remaining cheese wedges get renamed into a blank item called "(8)" and then disappear. I will get the extra carry weight but can't see or interact with the wedges at all. They never reappear, even if I quit the game and reload the save.

    I've disabled all other mods and have tried every combination of the base game with and without DLCs, with and without USLEEP, etc. I've used LOOT and have even tried sorting iNeed manually to see if that was the problem. When those steps didn't fix the bug, I reinstalled the game from scratch but that didn't help either. This issue happens on every new character once food spoilage is enabled and never goes away. If I never enable food spoilage the cheese wedges don't disappear, but I can't salt meat and I liked the risk/immersion of stale food.

    I don't think this is a common bug because I have been googling for a while and have not found a problem similar to what I have. Removing iNeed fixes the problem because cheese wheels don't split in the base game but I don't want to stop using this mod over something as silly as cheese. Despite the weird thing with cheese wheels, it's a great and immersive mod and it has become essential to my playthroughs. I might just have to roleplay my character as lactose intolerant :P
