This mod was created yesterday as part of development testing for a new ENBSeries feature. I wouldn't consider it a complete or polished mod, more of an example for others to follow. There are a lot of grass mods out there that can utilize this feature, grass isn't something I'm going to get into modding.

Please check out the comparison images in the gallery to see the difference this setting can make and if you're interested in learning how to do this for your own mod, I've included a guide that explains the process. It's not very difficult, just a bit different than the usual practice.

    Thanks!

Why is this for the old Skyrim and not SSE?

LE is apparently less complicated, so once it's ironed out there, it's easier to roll it out for SE.

So there will be an ENB binary that integrates this feature for SSE as i understand, isn't it?

I wouldn't call it "old rim"
I'd call it a "100% safe from forced Bethesda updates" rim

I'm having a problem: I changed my 'EnableComplexGrass' and 'EnableComplexGrassCollisions' settings in my enberies INI to 'true', but it keeps disabling the same settings in-game. So I go to my in-game ENB settings and checkmark these two, but it only works until I exit the game and go back in, where it has unchecked them. How di I fix this?

This isn't the place for general ENB support, try the discord

      @johnskyrim

Discord is a pain in the ass to navigate, and it requires all these stupid gust-login passwords and ID's and shit. I was just hoping you would have an idea as to what the problem is, but maybe I should just go trawl the internet for ENB-related forums.

Maybe it's a stupide question, but which grass mod works with your mod to get the best resualt.

None yet, they need to be updated. The required texture layout for grass didn't exist prior to ENB Binary 0.472

When will this work with any and all grass mods.
The grass mod o have used to be on the LE nexus, but the guy took it off and put it on SE, eventhough the le version works just fine.
Can you please make a patch for that grass mod?

It won't, every grass mod that is currently out on both LE and SE doesn't have textures that support this. Patches need to be made.

Just a little bump - There has started to appear some conversions for various grass mods, either in this patch compendium or on the grass mods themselves (Veydosebrom) ENB Complex Grass Patches

Cool, thanks! But could you please make a 1k or 512b version? Too much memmory on this little rocks is just another brick in the stutters wall.
I tried using Ordenador but the texture like shrinked on the mesh and I could only see the purple normal map.

    Thanks again!

Ordinator (whatever that is) probably assumed it was a square texture, which is why you saw the normal map. It's a non-square texture.

Ordenador is a VERY useful tool for optimizing textures. I´m sure you know about it. Try to lower the quality texture and see what happens. The shape keeps beeing the same (non-square) but is applied somehow different on the mesh. First time I see this kind of behaviour.

Where are you viewing the mesh? In nifskope? If so, that will display it incorrectly.

I saw the texture file that I lowered the resolution and it preserves the same shape as the original. In game, I can see the stones with the crazy textures. I don´t understand why.

Well for starters, are you using ENBSeries and have updated the binary to 0.472 or higher?

I updated yesterday from 0.472 to 0.474, but now that you mention it, I dindn´t notice this problem with 0.472
      Could that be a thing?

Possibly. Though that is nothing to do with this mod.

Could you please upload a 1k or 512 (I think this one shoud hit the spot) version that works with the latest ENB binaries for performance sake?

      Divines bless your kind heart

So you're telling me, if you install the 2k version, it works perfectly, but if you resize the textures yourself, it doesn't work? Did you try the 2k version to confirm this? Because it feels like your setup is the problem here.

I'm not going to upload 1k or lower. You may as well use vanilla.

Yes, I´m currently using the 2k version that works fine, but maybe there is no point in having 2k small stones. Nice detail, but small enough to have a more performance friendly texture, that in tandem with a ton of other texture mods, can cause stutters. I´m trying to keep a smooth experience.
A lower resolution could encourage more people to enjoy your awesome work!

Thanks anyway, I´ll keep the stones the way you present them.

I just installed ENB 472, and neither enblocal.ini nor enbseries.ini have a section called [COMPLEXGRASS].

So, where does this go and what should be in it?

Like every binary release, you need to replace the d3d9.dll and run the game.

On the contrary, it has everything to do with what you asked. The section will get automatically added to your ini files once you run the game, you don't add it manually.

Ah, ok.  Thanks.  I had not noticed it being added after the game-run. It has now showed up at the bottom of enbseries.ini.  :-)
