I won't be updating the LE version any more, except for bug fixes. It is causing bugs when ported due to the nature of the mod, so SE only from now on. Permissions are open, so anyone who wants to continue development on LE can do so.
Is it just me or did Karliah not actually offer me the choice to reject becoming a Nightingale? The mod said I could say no, yet she never even asked me (which is a reason I really liked this mod, that it did away with her not even asking you to make a choice).
EDIT: think i figured out why, had to use commands for a glitch that happened EDIT II: meant this for the SE not oldrim mod
I know it is a bit late to endorse the mod, but feel I owe it for at least for the main quest. I put main, thief, and bards-quest .esp inside about over 80+ merge and will be there as long as I play skyrim. (college have error to merge-- not mod, but not gona fuse well). For me, the most valuable thing from this mod is the main quest line. It cut Dragonreach stress-crash in half. And play-insert is funny :)
This is... brilliant! Brilliant and beautiful! Although I'm not into changing things like the main questline, I recognize how well done and well thought this mod is. Cheers to the author! You deserve a bigger recognition!
Thanks for the reply! With all due respect, Is it possible to XEdit or CK my way into removing the ritual spell conditions for the arch-mage thing though? I just want to make my own little tweak that's all.
So, according to the mod description for the Thieves Guild questline, if you refuse to become a Nightingale, Karliah will simply return the Skeleton Key offscreen. However, after defeating Mercer and taking the Key and escaping the cave, I have a quest to go to the Twilight Sepulcher. I've gone there, hoping to see Karliah and maybe have her take the Key from me, but things are just progressing normally, even with the chance to talk to Gallus' ghost. It looks like I'm being tasked with returning the Key myself. What has happened here? Was this quest supposed to be skipped and something bugged out?
EDIT: I reloaded to before the Mercer fight in hopes that things would trigger properly this time, but no luck. After talking with Karliah, who says the Key needs to be returned and I choose the "Good luck, Karliah" option, implying she'll take care of it, the quest ends, then the quest to go to the Twilight Sepulcher begins.
Oh, you're right. I didn't think I had anything else that affected the Thieves Guild questline, but it turns out Wintersun alters the quest, likely to incorporate worshiping Nocturnal. Thanks!
Found a minor glitch: After returning the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller to the Greybeards, if you visit Delphine there's a dialogue option where you can tell her "I'm the Dragonborn", after you've asked her about her distrust of strangers. She then says she has a free room for you, which is seemingly a left-over part of the quest stuff for going to a specific room. (And she doesn't have a free room for you; if you rent one, it still costs, and she didn't take me to the right room). I see that in this mod, one must go to Farengar again to advance the quest, but it seems like telling Delphine outright that you're the dragonborn either should advance it also, or should not lead to the "I've got a free room" dialogue stub.
Two other things in this string of the MQ: 1) If you have actually rented a room from Delphine's place, you can't get the quest progression dialogue from her, not until you sleep or your rental timer expires. In my case, I slept and she initiated the dialogue to go to the hidden room right after I awoke (which might also have been after expiry of the rental timer). 2) In the basement she says that she suspected you were Dragonborn like she said in her note. But that's what she said in her original vanilla note. The one you get from her in your mod doesn't say that. So, text of it should probably be tweaked.
I don't suppose those would cause any conflicts, seeing that they touch different areas than those covered by this mod, but just for peace of mind, would there be any conflicts with The Choice Is Yours (cuts some MIscellaneous quests from being marked), Immersive College of Winterhold (numerous changes to the building, not the NPCs), or Opulent Thieves Guild (gradual upgrades to the scenario with each Main Hold Job completed)?
So I don't know if this is intentional or not (or even if this mod is the cause of this, though it's the only mod I can think of that I have that might cause this), but after having finished the main quest, Stormcloak soldiers consider me their enemy now, and when I encountered some of those scavengers who killed soldiers and try to pass themselves off as them to get some gold from you, one of my options was to tell them I'm in the Legion, but I absolutely never joined the Legion. Is this perhaps part of how this mod handles skipping Season Unending? That's my only guess as to what's happened here.
